  1. OK. That's completely fine if the revision has happened because of the way the well society board feel and how EB feels about their statement... But that isn't the way that some posters on pie and bov are putting it across. There's been more than one post that indicated that the deal was going to be torched because of the discussion that took place on the forums earlier in the week - hence me asking. I have seen some of the chat but there is an awful lot to wade through. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. So basically we had a situation this week where a very small number of supporters told EB his deal was rotten and to shove it and he's going to revise the offer. If a new deal comes out of this that is more acceptable fair enough -but there's supposed to be a legally binding vote taking place in a couple of weeks. Has anyone actually thought through how that happens now that EB has said there's going to be a revised offer? Does he mean that the offer will be revised if the vote is no? I assume that he'll have to go back to the MFC board and the Well Society too? I completely agree that it's wise for EB to want the well society on side rather than opposed.
  3. It was me who posted this originally - because there have been posters on pie and bov who have been talking in terms of the deal being dead because EB is going to come back with a revised offer.
  4. I got that impression by reading posts on pie and bov yesterday where posters were indicating that the deal as it currently stands was effectively dead in the water and that Erik would be coming back with a revised deal. As for the board not being business savvy - there are two people on the board who run their own business. There's someone who works in financial services. One of the board members who was voted onto the board last summer ran and made statements that their business experience was what they would be bringing to the board. Theyve also voted to reject apart from Feely and Dickie. I also think with respect that the well society board have had a number of years to plan for this possibility -the possibility of an approach from an outside investor. What some fans aren't happy with I expect is that this offer wasn't binned before it got to fans.
  5. It's a bit stronger than that over there - you're right. But I don't like the dynamic. Which seems to be that they've persuaded Erik to bin the deal because they don't trust the rest of us to vote no. People need to be allowed to make their own minds up. I might not agree with everyone elses point of view - but I'll defend their right to have it - even if it doesn't align with mine. I'll also say that I've given money to the well society when I've had the square root of eff all to spare - so anyone who thinks I don't believe in fan ownership (not aiming this at you) really doesn't know me very well.
  6. People on pie and bov are saying that the deal has been binned and it's going back to the drawing board - because they've managed to persuade EB they don't want his deal - and I completely get that that's just a forum like this is - but that's what's been said by more than one poster over a couple of days. The jist is that they don't trust fans to vote no. So the deal has to be torched. Yes I do get they are accessible. I've emailed the society re some issues I wanted to raise. Ndas - understand.
  7. Hopefully one that scores lots of goals 🤣
  8. I'm not here to go in on the well society board. I just think that it's obvious that some fans don't want the vote just incase others vote yes. And that's not a good enough reason to get the vote binned. I don't think anyone has been transparent enough with the fans. And I think we should have been spoken to before Ben Banks. I also think that if the society don't agree with the timescale then just say it. Fans are being asked to respond to an email. This has nothing to do with the election or the euros or the summer holidays. If people care enough to vote they will vote. There needs to be a proper update from the board and the Well Society board too. An honest one and if that means admitting that things aren't good between the MFC board and the Well Society - that needs to be aired.
  9. Here was me upset that I had FOMO because I can't get out to watch it because I broke my leg 🤣. Thank god for pinot grigot
  10. I agree. The well society have told members from the outset there's going to be a vote - so what's the reason not to have one now?
  11. You think they'd get in? 🤣🤣
  12. I think the email the well society sent out was clear enough as to the reasons behind the rejection. I'd like to know if this vote is going to happen - because there's been talk elsewhere (, pie and bov) of it not going ahead now because of how some fans feel about it. What the implications are of well society Mfc board members voting to recommend the deal - and the next steps. Thanks in advance
  13. You're right - it's Feely that's the accountant.
  14. Do you think the vote will happen now? Given that EB has been posting on P and B and there are posters over there talking about the deal being dead and a new one being worked on. (I get that it's just posts on a forum but theres been a lot of dialogue over the last few days). I found it interesting that Dickie is a chartered accountant with decades of experience. Im not suggesting that he voted one way or another because of his background - but there clearly are people on the well society board with a lot of business experience (not just him).
  15. We don't know the wishes of the members yet obviously as the vote on this proposal is still to take place. The vote seems to have been whether the MFC Board wanted to accept this offer - not what WS members do or don't want. Particularly as I think WS members hadnt seen the full proposal before the Board voted. Potentially it would have made more sense to have the MFC board vote to accept or reject after fans had voted - but assume there must be legal reasons as to why that didn't happen.
  16. It looks like the people who are Co chairs of the well society board get the positions on the MFC board. But - there's nothing online that I can see that explains that either - if that is the case. All it says online is that they are both MFC directors and Co chairs of the well society board. What was confusing me is that both Feely and Dickie are MFC directors - which did make me think they must have been voting in their capacity as MFC board members - but it looks not. In regards to Dickie. He's been involved with the Well Society since 2016 and Feely has been involved a similar amount of time I believe.
  17. All I can see online is that Dickie has been on the board since 2016 and Co chair of the well society board since 2016 as well. And Tom Feely is also Co chair of the well society board. I was also wondering if Dickie was on the MFC board first or if he was on the MFC board because he was Co chair of the well society board.
  18. No Scotland no party 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  19. Feely and Dickie are both listed on the MFC website as directors and I assume (and this is just an assumption) that they were MFC directors before they were voted in as well society board members. I don't know who on the well society apart from them if anyone has a seat on the club board (but I'm sure someone will know better than me).
  20. How were they there as representatives of the well society if they are both on the MFC board and the board of the society? They were surely voting as members of the MFC board and not in their capacity as well society board members. I agree that there are things that do need clarification but how do we know that they went into that vote to represent the position of the other members of the society board? They didn't because they voted in favour of the deal.
  21. Just bought my Livi ticket. Two quid concession. Just hope that I'll manage to get there (all hail the moonboot I'll hopefully have by then) 😉
