So sad, had also heard that it was suicide. RIP Paul, thoughts are with his family and friends.

The keeper we've signed on loan? http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/index.php?op...&Itemid=134

I did the same, at least 6 months ago, nothing, not an acknowledgement.

Nice that the actions seem to match the talk. I think Jim Gannon could be the best thing to happen to Motherwell for a very long time.

What a night. You know just watching that game, everything about it, from the players reactions when they scored to Jim Gannon on the touchline, to the fans applauding the players off the pitch, that reminded me how great it is to be a Motherwell fan. There is nothing like it. I think Boyle got it totally right when he appointed Gannon and I know there is a long way to go but that was something else tonight. I think we have a manager who will put his heart and soul into the club and who will not be afraid to make unpopular decisions. I wasn't McGhee's number one fan but I was sorry to see him go but I really do think Gannon is something special. Tonight was just fantastic, there aren't words to describe how good it was. Slane was outstanding.

How about the game he played the day he died? The whole team was outstanding that day but I certainly think Phil was. O'Donnell was a massive loss to Motherwell in every sense, we struggled badly without him at times.

If you really wanted to be there you'd have got there somehow.

They said that the person who was married at Fir Park was involved in an incident on the way home, I don't think it was said that they were one of the people who attacked the old man. It's been commented on on the thread where the incident was spoken about.
-
Yes he said the people who did it were banned for life, but not a lot else positive about the Motherwell support including those who helped the man at the time. The article in the Wishaw Press was in my view more balanced. However, it doesn't take away from the fact it shouldn't have happened to start with. Yes I'm sure this could have been edited by someone else before publication and yes it could have been picked up by the nationals no matter what. However, as has already been found, it is very difficult to separate your working life from being on here if your working life may involve Motherwell. I'm sure the person who wrote it will have his reply on here anyway. It does paint us in a bad light but lets not forget that it was 2 idiots out of a well behaved support. Just a shame that certain Scottish newspapers love writing negative things about Motherwell and we've handed them this story on a plate.

Sorry Guys....unhappy Topic But Need Some Help!

Anyone sticking up for people who think it's appropriate to headbutt a 77 year old man, related to them or not, deserves everything coming their way. -
There are loads of countries where there will be a threat of terrorism or violence, it doesn't stop people going. Loads of people go to Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus etc. It's not as if supporters can't make up their own mind and if anything did happen, it would have nothing to do with Motherwell fc. I'm surprised that it wasn't said earlier, I know that we had to get through the tie but surely the club could have said if we make Albania, the club won't be doing anything as regards travel. I'm sure there won't be hundreds of fans wanting to make the trip but I'm surprised that the club would actively suggest that fans don't go, surely if fans want to go and support the team the club should welcome that and not discourage it.

Was said in an earlier post that the people who attacked the older man were both season ticket holders. -
Well on Thursday nights showing who could blame him?
-
I think McGhee would have gone to Aberdeen regardless.
-
Buzz won't be signing a new deal with us, he's signed a 2 year deal with Brighton.
-
It doesn't but it doesn't say that it won't. The financial considerations were quite clearly stated by JB, lose him for a fee now or lose him at the end of the season for nothing. The new manager has been in post a day, I'm sure he wants to strengthen the team, I would think it highly unlikely that he has taken the job on to be told he has no transfer kitty given how short we are on players at the moment. There wasn't this mass panic when Porter left or McFadden left, yes it's a blow and it's been a hard couple of weeks, we lose the manager and his assistant, the players out of contract, however I think we might have been ten times more gutted if Clarky had signed a pre contract in January and we had been left with not a penny.
-
JB explained that by saying they didn't want to have another McCormack or McDonald situation, if he had stayed and gone at the end of next season we would have got nothing. I think that's good business sense. Gutted to see him go but can't see where that translates into none of the money will be put back in.
-
We knew McGhee would be off first chance he got, we knew Smith, Hughes and Klimpl were going. Motherwell have always been a selling club. I'm sure people will continue to buy season tickets regardless of McGhee and the players named above leaving. As for Clarkson it's disappointing if he goes but hardly the biggest surprise on the planet.

Doesn't specify on the official site apart from to say ticket office is open until 8pm on Thursday.
-
Not confirmed apparently http://www.rivals.net/news/pgarticle.aspx?...97273&id=88
-
That it would be played at their own ground, however, that could have been on there since the draw was announced, I thought that Motherwell were going to discuss this on Thursday with Llanelli.
-
Was that not already on their website? Thought that Motherwell and llanelli would be discussing this on Thursday.

I understand why you would feel that way and if you supported the team as much as you do and then lost out of course you would be cheesed off but, if you allocate a points system you split the support into different tiers and for a lot of different reasons there are people who can't get to away games but might want to see the team in Europe. The thing is as well, at the beginning of every season, you don't know how the team are going to do, but the club would be setting some sort of system in place, if you collect x amounts of points from going to certain away games and buying merchandise just in case we get into Europe. It's easier for fans say in retrospect that there should be a points system because we have qualified again and possibly there might be a shortage of tickets. When tickets are in short supply there is no system that is going to be in place that will be 100 per cent fair to everyone, hopefully the game will be played at the bigger stadium and people won't miss out. The furthest I'm travelling to see Motherwell in Europe is Airdrie but I hope that everyone who is going to Wales and wants a ticket gets it.

Or the people who went to Nancy, or the people who went to Inverurie..... there is no way the club are going to give preference to people who are going to go to a tie that we haven't even qualified for. It's not a competition.
