You don't. But some people act like they do. I've seen it all over social media. The name calling - the demands that he gets out of our club. Completely pathetic in my view. I actually don't know why anyone would come to this club given the abuse thats dished out to managers when some fans think it's time for the manager to go. I'm not talking about the booing. I'm talking about the name calling on social media - I get why he doesn't look at it
-
It is completely OK for people to criticise him - but that criticism is completely over the top in some quarters - with people acting like they hate him - and in my view that's on them - it's not on Kettlewell. I think some people have personal issues with him - and I have no idea why. He's kept us in the spl for two seasons and I personally don't think he needs to be proving anything right now - are people howling for Robbos head or the head of McInnes the way some people are with Kettlewell? I think we have a very unforgiving support at times and that's fine - I just don't need to agree with it
-
I don't boo managers or players. Never have. Never will. If people want Kettlewell out fair enough. I just hope the next manager lives up to expectations. I know plenty of Motherwell fans who don't want Kettlewell out - my issue is that we're supposed to think the entire support hate him based on yesterday? I don't. It's all a tad polarised on here at the moment and if you say you support Kettlewell you get laughed at and told you're an idiot by people who weren't even born when you started going to games. Or that you somehow are responsible for Motherwell not performing because you don't have high enough expectations for your team (I really have seen it all when I saw a post like that). People who like Kettlewell are responsible for Motherwells current performance I really hope that in two years time when he's gone - if we are still struggling that some people might revisit their opinions of him - doubt it though
-
Innit. So many folk who think they could do his job. He's only an ex professional footballer and all - it's a wonder why they don't just ask anyone to manage Motherwell. Not pointing that at the poster you are responding to btw
-
I wasn't. But that doesn't change my opinion. Being booed off the park after a very poor result doesn't necessarily translate to loads of fans turning against him. And I'm not the only person who has said the same on here over the last 24 hours Ps. I knew I would get the laughing emoticons but it's no biggie. I've been supporting Motherwell for decades and I don't boo players or the manager - Id rather back the team when we are struggling
-
I think Kettlewell gets a disproportionate amount of stick than some other managers - and I think people should be able to express support for him - if they want to. It really should not be that polarised. I've seen people on social media calling him Kettlewell bell end. Get out of my club. Etc And I don't go to games to boo people either - I get why fans are upset but I think some fans have a weird hatred of him for no reason I never booed Alexander. I never booed Hammell even though I thought it was the wrong appointment. And I won't be booing Kettlewell either And you know what. I think some people like making digs at people who like Kettlewell - people shouldn't be ridiculed because they support him I like him - other people don't. And that should be enough. I'm not going to be called as someone who does not care about their club just because I don't want him sacked

That's go west pal

I would say to avoid relegation and top six and a good cup run is a bonus.

This is a great post.

Im beginning to find the this is all Kettlewells fault a little concerning. Stam was just beginning to hit form when he was injured. It's just getting too negative and I get why people are upset. But there's a scouting team and it's not all on Stuart If people don't want to back him now - fine. I'll back any manager till I can't anymore. I personally think we should have kept Bair. But I'm probably in the minority on that one.. I really can't get on with the theory that absolutely everything is Kettlewells fault - he kept us up when we were in free fall. But that counts for nothing because other managers did the same and got the boot When we get rid of Kettlewell the next manager will be subjected to the same conditions - and they'll last two years before fans want them out - Alexander got the bump when we were top six and looks like the same will happen again
-
It was probably bad luck that Heygi got recalled just before Ox got injured. However Matty Connolly was on the bench last week I believe so none of us know why he wasn't this week. It could have been for any reason The reason that Heygi didn't feature was because Ox hit form Mair has a good rep by all accounts and it can't be easy being flung in at the deep end like this
-
Sure Stam was meant to be that person potentially Recruitment isn't just down to him - there are others involved surely. But I agree things need to change on the recruitment front
-
All I hope for right now is that we get players back from injury and we have a decent transfer window and kick on from there. It is gutting and I understand why people are upset
-
I think we miss Bair and Spittal. I was really sorry to see Bair go. And that is the problem right now. We don't have a striker who can just bang goals in. Even last season when we were rubbish for long spells we had enough players chipping goals in to make up for the leaky defence and we don't have that right now
-
Well I hope none of them go on camera crying when Kettlewell goes. They are paid very well to do a job - whereas someone like me had to scrape every last penny I had together to buy my season ticket this year. Im not discounting your point of view. I just don't think this is all on Kettlewell Edited to say. I've been in more than one job that I've been treated very poorly in - I still had to turn up. I had no option.
-
I honestly do not think if Casey and Kettlewell had a bust up at half time that it should have been made public. Or posted about on pie and bov. Where did that come from - Casey? Or another player - if so that's completely unprofessional If they want to down tools and get the manager out so be it - but Casey signed for us at the last minute last season - and we pay his wages - another manager might want to punt him Surely if Casey has an issue with the manager it should be kept private - that's the professional thing to do. And as I'm sure you know - the social media stuff always grows legs and gets blown out of proportion
-
The players should not be losing faith in my view. They are paid well to do a job and chucking it isn't good enough - it's making a fool of fans who live in this area some of who earn a tiny percentage of what they are paid. They can back Kettlewell or ship out in my view - and I'm aware of his faults. I have no time for players who are well paid for what they do deciding to throw in the towel. It's not just on him. They've looked like they don't care for the last few games - and that isn't good enough. They don't want to play for him - fine. But they should be playing for the fans who've paid to watch them I actually don't think loads of fans have turned against him -if he goes so be it but as I've said elsewhere in two years time some other manager will be on the other end of this - social media has a big part to play in this - I actually miss the days when I just watched the team and went home
-
If Casey has had a blow up with Kettlewell at half time why should it be Kettlewell that has to go - come on now - no one needs to know about disagreements because of "someone" who knows something who knows someone on pie and bov. Remember Liam Kelly sitting crying when Alexander got the boot - the players are responsible too and they know it - this is not all on Kettlewell. They need to get the collective finger out and soon
-
That's good it's fine to disagree.
-
He said that the goalkeeper had barely a save to make in the last two games. Not sure that's him throwing the keeper under the bus.
-
I don't think he is either. Today was gutting but for some reason we always blow it in cup games against teams we should be beating. I think we miss Miller and Ox is going to be a big miss. McGinn too. Hopefully we have a decent transfer window
-
Obviously teams below us will play one another and drop points too
-
I don't agree
-
You're right - but I hope it doesn't come to that
