  1. Exactly what's written on the official site, you aren't missing much.
  2. STV have reported again that he's signed for Derby.
  3. I think it was a gesture of get Malpas out or we won't be back. May have had some sort of impact but chucking your season ticket away at the very end of the season isn't going to do any fan much damage.
  4. STV also said its a done deal with Derby. 400k
  5. I don't think people are happy to wave goodbye to Porter tbh. He's made it clear from day one Motherwell is a stepping stone for him and if he leaves in the summer we stand to lose a lot of money. I think people are concerned that to lose Porter and Lasley at the same time would leave the team too this. Yes, everyone is going on about other players who can fill the same role that Lasley does but we don't know who might get injured in the run in, we need as much cover as we can.
  6. I'd be sorry to see Lasley go.

    Mst

Maybe you could have emailed Fraz or asked someone for his phone number, I'm sure there are people on here who know him personally.
  8. It's only too good an offer to turn down if the money we would receive for Porter gets invested in bringing new players in.
  9. Well maybe the Fir Park club should make it clear that they don't have any connection with MFC anymore. I think Jack Daniels is a bit different because although it's well known as a Motherwell fans club, it has nothing to do with the club and there's nothing in the name to suggest so. I thought Daniels do or did, sponsor FPC at one time. I'm sure there are plenty unofficial Motherwell pubs as you would call it but it seems only the Fir Park Club has a link that might make some people think it is connected with Motherwell fc.
  10. They shouldn't need to rely on penalties though, I know that isn't what you are saying but our record in front of goal is shocking and we aren't safe yet, not by a long way.
  11. I think people might have thought that it was because of the part of your post that suggested that he wasn't animated enough. The anniversary must also have been difficult for McGhee, the fact is, we only see what we see for 90 minutes per week, when the team are on the field, we don't see how McGhee treats the players the rest of the time. All of us, myself included are just speculating.
  12. What you have said though, is that you feel that he has developed an emotional indifference towards his players, I know that your first post was lengthy but I'd just like to ask, what makes you feel that way and why you are focusing on McGhee rather than the poor performances on the park. Also, again, McGhee is the manager and obviously he is going to carry the can first and foremost if we don't pick up our game but, there's been very little comment on what Leitch's role is in all this. He is a Motherwell man, he probably has a lot of daily contact with the players, yet he seems to be getting no criticism whatsoever from the majority of Motherwell fans. I'm just not sure how you think Motherwell have been going downhill since last Christmas given that we got into Europe last season. I know I'm not directly quoting you above but what you said was he has misjudged the leadership of the team from this point last year, what is it you mean when you say this? I'm just not clear on what you mean by that and I'd be interested to know more.
  13. The managers and the players need to fulfill this, it's not just down to McGhee and McGhee only. These are professional players paid to do a job. Perhaps McGhee no longer wants to be at Motherwell, but I would find it very hard to believe that someone could change their entire nature and go from being someone the players were happy to be managed by to someone who has lost their respect totally. We don't know what has gone wrong and the reasons behind it, it is all just speculation.
  14. Well if McGhee did misjudge his leadership from this time last year, it wasn't reflected in the team's results to the end of last season.

    Porter

Word is that Billy Davies is being linked with the vacant post at Forrest with the club hoping to have him in place as manager before Saturday.
  16. McGhee may not be a Motherwell man but he got us to Europe, no matter what other criticisms of him there are and I know there are plenty, I'm sure we wouldn't swap that for anything. He also got praise for the manner in which he conducted himself after Phil died. I don't think someone needs to have Motherwell in their blood to have the best interests of the club at heart. Just because he doesn't support Motherwell doesn't mean he doesn't care about the players. Yes he talked himself into a rather large wage rise but lets remember it was Boyle's decision to pay him that wage. Look at Butcher, he wasn't a Motherwell fan but he's still remembered on the whole with fondness. Supporting the club doesn't necessarily mean someone will be a good manager, the two things don't necessarily go hand in hand.
  17. The problems at Motherwell aren't just down to McGhee obviously. We have a club that seems to be run on a shoestring obviously because no-one wants to revisit administration. I'm not sure why McGhee going the extra mile outwith his duties would solve anything, last year it seemed to work fine. Just as the players don't need to support Motherwell to play for the club, McGhee doesn't need to have claret and amber blood to manage Motherwell.
  18. How would that be organised though, in such a way that the club would recognise the points of view of said Motherwell fans? Surely the people who would approach the club would also need to be voted in in some way. I think if it goes down this route we would end up with too many groups asking the same questions and getting precisely nowhere.
  19. I don't think the silence is deafening when it comes to McGhee either, to say he's had some criticism from the support of late would be a massive understatement.
  20. Faddy, Tommy Coyne, but my favourite well player ever, Stevie Kirk.
  21. Loyalty is a 2 way thing. I sit in the East Stand and even when things were going well last season you get a section of fans who sit and moan their way through every game, criticising players sometimes even before they have kicked a ball, telling them how they could play better. The fact is, if we were third in the table again, this wouldn't be so much of an issue. Motherwell fans are loyal but they can also be too critical even when the team is winning. Maybe it's time we realised that he isn't going anywhere soon and give him and the team some support over the next few games, because it's going to be a hard run in and the team are going to need all the support they can get.
  22. You don't think the team deserve our loyalty, is that too much to ask? We've said plenty, now he's saying his piece (to a paper a lot of people wouldn't wipe their arse with). I think this has already been done to death elsewhere, there's not a lot that he's said here that hasn't been said elsewhere already. That's the reason why I don't understand what makes this piece so objectionable, there's very little new in there.
