  1. Sectarianism and remarks about child abuse in the same sentence . You're a credit to Motherwell Anyway, as to the thread, surely if Ruddy moves on at the end of the season, it's more likely he return to Goodison, and Rangers don't have two pennies to rub together anyway. Just doesn't seem plausible he will be a Rangers player.
  2. 3-0 today, Juke to score two Mon the 'Well
  3. So it's just down to the severe winter on the new pitch, big man? A milder winter and all would have been fine? Sounds reasonable, so why the need for an investigation?
  4. Guys, I haven't gone through the entire thread, so apologies if this has already been answered, but why is the pitch in such a state already, so soon after all that time and money was spent on it? I thought that was meant to resolve the problem long term Was the work sub-standard, or is there some other explanation?
  5. Certainly is. Eight unbeaten and a superb defensive record.
  6. This would be a very good win against a strong Hibs team, even though they've had ten men for the majority of the game. Auld Broony has done so well thus far.
  7. Penalty? Commentators seem to think so, but you need to see these things really.
  8. You haven't missed much, Haggis. The red card has been the most significant action.
  9. Who are the commentators? It sounds like Jack and Victor from Still Game. Never heard so much moaning.
  10. Red card Liam Miller. Keep walking, son O'Brien booked
  11. Pitch almost crocked Hateley there. Commentator with a broad "aww naw".
  12. Sounds like the Hibs keeper just produced a very good save.
  13. I was wondering what that was all about. Couple of Scottish blokes mumbling to each other As long as 'Well do better than Manchester United today! Hoping for a good game.
  14. I'm going for an exciting 2-2 draw. Really looking forward to tomorrow - watch the game at Goodison on the box then tune in to radio for the Hibs game. Hibs will want to put right their disaster in Perth, and I think it will make for a good match. Bear in mind their confidence must be fragile following their midweek thrashing, so an early 'Well goal could make it very interesting
  15. Yeah, there's certainly some truth in that, and also the treatment Ronaldo got when Rooney was sent off in an England V Portugal game - the infamous winking incident. But there are also a lot of fans of other clubs - Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle spring to mind - whose support have turned away from the national team.
  16. So you won't be predicting a 'Well victory in this one, pal?
  17. What's Motherwell's recent record like in this fixture? I might be wrong, but I'm thinking Hibs usually come out on top
  18. It's probably a different dynamic too for Scotland. Many of us in England are put off the national side due to the shame England fans have brought upon all of us on many occasions, particularly when abroad. There is a lot of unpleasant baggage and a consequential reticence to attach onself to it. Scotland fans don't have that legacy.
  19. That a poor analogy. I would say it's more like a man who claims to be in love with two women at the same time. I've never been there and can't relate to it As an Englishman on a 'Well forum, I'd choose Motherwell qualifying for the Champions League ( never mind winning it ) over England winning the World Cup. It would give me more pleasure.
  20. I think it explains it perfectly. I don't understand it; it makes no sense to me, and I think we're always wary/afraid of that which we don't understand. Good luck to you, you're entitled to your view, but it isn't for me. I don't have the energy to be as passionate about my country as I am about my club . You and I are at opposite ends of the scale when it games to national teams; I couldn't care less, and you want them to be more successful than your club. Most people are probably somewhere inbetween.
  21. As I say, it's just something I can't relate to. But I'm not patriotic, and ideas about national pride aren't something I hold anyway. Also I've never met a matchgoing United fan who would choose England over the club; it's outside of my experience this kind of debate.
  22. You go along to watch your national team, so it's natural you have some affiliation. It just isn't something I can relate to or get passionate about. I wouldn't watch England if it was free admission.
  23. I would guess that the vast majority of football fans would choose their club. After all, it's your club you spend your lifetime paying money to see, where your memories are forged and who take up the vast majority of your time in relation to the game. I would be suspicious of any matchgoing fan who ranks the national team as more important than their club.
