  1. A draw ( which should have been a win ) against the runaway league leaders is no cause for a hangover, LD, and 'Well's good form should mean they are full of confidence. Of course local derbies are very hard to predict accurately, but I think 'Well will take the points, so I'm going 1-3
  2. Is that the best the guy can do? He should be ashamed of himself, he is talking utter rubbish.
  3. That's a good point, and it does make you wonder. It was impossible to be offside, it just doesn't make sense. Nothing debatable about the call, it was terrible. How can officials be that bad?
  4. Best of luck, then. We've reached a comprimise in our house - it's tv pictures from Fir Park and radio commentary from Villa Park. Hopefully two positive results to follow, but both are tough games. Mon the 'Well
  5. Big Dion did well during his short United career and it was a shame he was never quite the same after his leg break. Not what you'd think of as a Manchester United type player but he was a real handful for defences. I liked the big man, though of course he wasn't a great player.
  6. A point! Wow, didn't expect that from you chief. Had to read it twice I really wish I could agree but I fear an away win. Rangers are closing in on the championship and will take some stopping, though 'Well's good form might mean it's a tight game. I hate predicting defeats, but I'm trying to be objective. 0-2 but with some hopes of a pleasant surprise
  7. Is the pitch really that bad after all the time and money that was spent on it? Is there any danger games will have to be moved to other venues again?
  8. There was a discussion of this topic just a couple of weeks ago, and someone said the girl at the pie stall told him "we've only goat mince pies left". Now you don't expect the contents of a pie at fooball to be free range and organically produced, but minced goat?
  9. Best of luck to the 'Well today. I shall be kept informed of the score, so let's see whether Brown and Knox can maintain their terrific start. Mon the 'Well
  10. Yeah, that was the recent one with the white shorts and the hoop around the arms, wasn't it? Very nice strip too.
  11. Fair do's, mate, these ideas probably always have yeas and nays for each design. Personally I'd definitely buy it. Perhaps if such anniversary strips are launched, you S.T. holders will be given a chance to vote for your choice.
  12. That's a belter Can someone remind me again as to why the decision was taken to adopt the claret and amber?
  13. Don't know of him but would haved loved to see him. By the way, this thread was done was a few months back and one guy who took a slating turned out to be a poster's step-dad.
  14. I'm not a greedy man, if anyone wants to offer me 15K per week for playing football..... The lad McGlinchey, is he a prospect?
  15. I'm not qualified to comment on that, mate, but I thought the hoop went back decades? The likes of Matt J, big Special etc will know much more than I.
  16. I really like both your black and white away strips but the pastel blue is awful and where is the hoop on the home shirt second bottom? The traditionalists will string you up for that.
  17. Sounds like a good day out, gaag. How many 'Well fans made the journey to Pittordrie?
  18. I voted top six, which is another way of saying mid-table. It might be seventh or eighth but it won't be relegation battle. It's just a shame a cup run didn't materialise.
  19. Unfortunately I was denied the chance to listen to the match yesterday but managed to catch the final score on SSN. 3-0 was a magnificent result and a pleasant surprise, and I only wish I had been able to see McGhee's face at the end. Pittordrie is a tough place to go, so full credit to Brown and Knox and, of course, the team. It must have been a memorable day for those 'Well fans who made the journey.
  20. Yeah, that would be a long journey for nothing. Surely they would know first thing ( say 9 a.m. ) whether to postpone, then get the news out straight away.
  21. Sun 'journalism' at its best - "The evil pair", "brutal". They always go the extra mile with the in depth analysis
  22. I disagree, but that's football. I thought Gannon was an inspired choice and could have proved brilliant, but that's in the past. Brown is a safe choice - he's never been brilliant, and at his age never will be - but he'll do a job and will produce stability without ever setting the heather alight. Definitely a safe pair of hands who knows his way around the Scottish game.
