  1. Fair enough, but what are all their songs about - King Billy's On The Wall, Father's Advice, The Sash, Build My Gallows etc etc etc ? Ireland of course. Are they going home too ? They don't seem to get the irony.
  2. Hmmmm, all seems like a get out of jail free card to me. "I've paid a few quid so can behave exactly as I like and you just have to take it". If someone is being unpleasant ( and I'm talking in generalties here, not on relation to MFC Xmas dinner thing ) I don't see anything wrong with telling them about it, and money shouldn't come into it. Perhaps I just don't fit into this 'customer service' world we live in
  3. Fair enough if you think that way, but being a 'paying customer' doesn't give anyone the right to be abusive, and those who are have to be prepared to take a bit back. Perhaps then they'll think about their behaviour. That's communication on a human level, none of this buyer/seller stuff. You treat others as you wish to be treated, and if any customer in any walk of life is obnoxious, those who are subjected to it have right of response. Only fair. If I phoned my bank or the gas board and was aggressive for whatever reason, I'd think less of the person on the other end if they didn't pull me up about it.
  4. Don't agree with that, wee yin. To hide behind the excuse of being a 'paying customer' doesn't give anyone the right to behave as they wish. You can't just toss a few coins at someone and then think you have carte blanche. Anyone who dishes it out has to be prepared to take it, IMO.
  5. Young fella here with his diamond formation. I hope you spent this much time thinking about your homework Looks a decent shout, too.
  6. It's certainly an improvement on the other version
  7. As always there are two sides to every story. Quite right to point out the hypocrisy of those Celtic fans who are offended by some of the things they hear whilst simultaneously singing the praises of an organisation that did some heinous things. However - and I don't know whether this was sung at the game at Fir Park - but the chant about "the famine is over, why don't you fo home" is disgusting. Anyone who has read anything about the tragedy that was the Irish potato famine and who has an ounce of humanity, wouldn't get involved in that kind of thing. Maybe it's all tit for tat nonsense, but I can't understand the mentality of people who take that rubbish into a football match - on any side.
  8. Nae mair requests for me, folks. Matt J's wean was in a like shot Best of luck to all participating. Fantastic cause
  9. Seriously, Blakey, do you mean what you're saying, or is there a bit of sarcasm in there? Look at the squad Gannon inherited last summer and then look at the league table now. The guy is doing a good job on a tiny budget. He is giving young players a chance to show what they can do, and in so doing is creating competition for places. Yes, they will have bad days - they're on a steep learning curve - but Rome wasn't built in a day. They've made a good start and will improve. Gannon knows his stuff and knows where he want to get to, and, furthermore, he has the ability to do it. Don't panic after one caning.
  10. Ask him how he thinks they will fair in european football after Christmas and then watch him scuttle away, mumbling.
  11. A lot of sense in that post, Mr Diggle. Yes, it was a terrible result, but it can happen to young teams with little experience. A day when it all went wrong, but Rangers are champions ( despite being rather shite just now ) and Motherwell need to learn from days like this. It's horrible, but it isn't the end of the world. It's early days for this team; a team that will improve over time despite setbacks along the way. Gannon must stay focused on what he wants to achieve and how best to get there.
  12. I'm away for a Christmas beer with some pals. It might cheer me up after a disastrous day in the football. I hope some of you will do the same; sometimes it's better to forget!
  13. Fair enough, but not often the fans of other teams get the chance to see United beaten 3-0. Bad day all around.
  14. He's been excellent, too. One of those days.
  15. Boyd has his critics, even amongst Rangers fans, but that guy knows where the goal is at SPL level. Amazing record he has. Today is going from bad to worse.
  16. Fulham are also ahead. Today isn't looking good. Any sign of improvements at Ibrox?
  17. Mustn't panic but stay calm, as they did when Celtic took the lead last week. Keep playing and you never know.
  18. I'll sponsor someone too. Great cause.
  19. Could be a long afternoon now, LD. They will settle down and turn the screw.
  20. I'm listening to the United game on radio ( no centre-halves again ) so keep me updated with events at Ibrox, folks. Fuck !!!!
  21. Not tongue in cheek at all, mate. I know better than most what it's like to be treated as a consumer rather than a fan, and I bitterly resent it. Those who work in the sales and marketing departments at my own club have no idea how the lifelong fans think, many of whom can no longer afford to attend. They aren't the 'target deomgraphic', so don't matter. Anyway, I could go on all night about this and won't bore you
  22. I must politely request that phrase not be used in the football context. We football fans are not customers and should never want to be. Your football team isn't like buying washing powder; you're not buying into a brand or a lifestyle, it goes much deeper. The modern day football clubs want us to be customers and act accordingly, but it's vital fans concentrate upon community values and demand to have a relationship with our clubs that goes beyond consumerism - those values money can't buy. Not having a go at you LD, but I cringe when I hear customer/customer service used in the context of football fans.
  23. That's true . Gotta have sympathy for the Wolves fans on that.
