  1. I know folk will only post when there's a problem at the ticket office or the club shop, and that's understandable, but I have to say in my ( albeit very limited ) experience of both I've been very impressed. Our tickets for the Accies game arrived 36 hours after booking online - bloody good going - and the guys in the shop have always been bang on as well. We only hear about the bad experiences, but there must be a hundred good experiences for each of the bad.
  2. £35 for the two of you isn't too bad, IMO, though I fully understand it's a lot for some at this time of year and in the current economic climate. Fingers crossed it's money well spent and the performance makes it a day to remember.
  3. That's harsh, dee. Those who will be in the club deck have said they will have a free ticket and free food and drink. Good luck to them, and look at it this way, Rangers won't be getting a penny from them. It's Christmas and money is tight for many just now, so why not take them for a freebie ? How much are Rangers charging away fans ? It's expensive for many, especially families who need several tickets. Tough game of course, but it's the season of miracles . Anyway, it's clear that the Old Firm really are at their most vulnerable for a long time. The results are there to see. If it's possible to get a point at Celtic, it's also possible at Rangers.
  4. Obviously there will be a match thread, so apologies for starting early ,but I'm just wondering who's going from here, how many will be there in total and also the ticket prices. Any pre-match thoughts you might have, too. Being a nosy bastard basically
  5. His singing can't be that bad
  6. I don't think Malky was moaning, mate, just expressing his fears of what may happen if some of the key loan signings leave. But they are Gannon's loan signings and he's shown he can spot a player by taking them. If they leave, I think he has the ability to replace them. The squad he inherited was tiny and many were tipping Motherwell for a relegation fight. We're now almost at Christmas and that looks very remote. Gannon has dropped some long established players for youngsters he has faith in. He has a vision, and on balance and from my own limited perspective , I think he's on track.
  7. You know much more about your team than I do, and I'm not qualified to question anybody who sees what's happening week in and week out. I can only comment on what I see personally, what I read, and from the league table. I would say Gannon is in the very early days of his tenure with a very young team, and that he's been brave with his selections and philosophy. Look at the state the squad was in when he arrived. It might be two steps forward and one step back at times, but from my own limited knowledge I rate Gannon highly. A top six finish is realistic and if he can keep his team together and improve it with new signings, the future looks good. The best is yet to come.
  8. Is Gannon a lifelong Celtic fan anyway ?
  9. It's early days for a very young team, Malky, and there will be days when they come up against more experienced professionals and better players. Yesterday was such a day, but the team will grow together and improve together. Gannon has them playing good, passing football - no route one nonsesne - and knows where he wants to get to. It won't happen overnight and this is the beginning of the project, but the signs are good and the team is in the top half of the table. Yes, he'll need to hang on to his better players, yet every game is a learning process for such a young side. There are some promising players in that team.
  10. Absolutely. It's always been so, and England is no different. If Motherwell ever play at Old Trafford, you just try getting a penalty
  11. Thing is, Ricky, Rangers fans say exactly the same thing; just take a look at one of their forums. The fact is, of course, that as the only two big clubs in the SPL, the Old Firm get the majority of the marginal calls in any season, particularly at home. It's the same everywhere; the big teams get the rub of the green most of the time. They point the finger at each other to deflect the truth.
  12. I didn't hear his comments, but he looked happy enough on the telly when 'Well went 2-1 up.
  13. You think he threw the game ?

    Celtic

You calm down, young fella, you'll go blind Yes, Ruddy looks a top class young keeper.
  15. I didn't see his pre-match interview but heard remarks about his saying the result wasn't important during commentary. It struck me as odd, but I don't know in what context it was said.
  16. I recall a Stockport fan who posted on the forum when Gannon was appointed, telling you to be prepared for run ins with the authorities and the media, and Jim hasn't disappointed . I think he's a breath of fresh air; an intelligent man who expresses himself well and is straight down the line. A big improvement on the inane comments of so many others. I don't think he tries to be controversial for its own sake or to draw attention to himself, rather he isn't afraid to speak his mind. Get 'em telt, Jim !
  17. Bloody hell. Must have been something serious then.
  18. I also think you're being a bit too pessimistic, MJC. You're right when you say Celtic should have scored more, but Ruddy and some good defending is the reason they didn't. 2-1 ahead at half-time, some good individual performances and football played the right way. Some positives there surely ?
  19. That was really enjoybale to watch, just a shame about the result. Yes, the better team on the day won, but they were never comfortable. Celtic started very well and dominated the second half, Motherwell finished the first half the stronger. To be fair all the Celtic goals were quality and they might have another penalty or two, but I was impressed with the composure of the young 'Well players. Gannon has them playing the right way and they didn't panic when Celtic started so quickly. If he can keep them together, there is real potential, and even this season a top six finish is realistic. Young Hateley impressed me with his vision and technique, and Ruddy was outstanding. By the way, good to see the big Welcome To Motherwell flag. That was my first glimpse and it looks the part.
  20. Who's either buying or hoping for some MFC goods for Christmas ? The signed calender would have been great for Mrs T and I need a little stocking filler. Any thoughts ?
  21. Good on you, chief. I enjoyed the ones we have, even though a lot of your reminiscences went over my head of course, and the mrs hasn't been up to date for years now. I love the old football nostalgia.
