Some well balanced posts on the McGhee era here. The guy deserves huge credit for achieving third place in the season after the Malpas disaster. That was some going ! He handled the O'Donnell tragedy with great dignity, and, according to lots of fans who use this forum, had the team playing some really nice football. Perhaps he took his eye off the ball in his second season, perhaps he came to regret not taking the Hearts job and so lost some of the fire in his belly; I'm not qualified to say. But give the guy some credit for his time at Motherwell, and, as others have pointed out, the depletion of the squad can't all be blamed upon him.
