  1. True, but Fraser looks uncertain with his shot-stopping too. Keeper and defence seem to be suffering from a lack of confidence in each other which creates a downward spiral. Gannon will know he needs recruits at the back.
  2. Yup, much more authority will be be required between keeper and centre halves against better opposition. Gannon will no doubt have it earmarked as a prioirity for strengthening.
  3. Llanelli big yin nearly scored with that header............and again !!!
  4. This is more like it, some excellent chances created first half and Sutton is being given the freedom of Llanelli in the box. Nice passing moves and getting down the flanks well. First time I've seen the infamous Llanelli number four, and dear God he's massive
  5. Pipe down, Jock But time for a "mon yeeeeee 'Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell" then to see what's happening on S4C
  6. I hope all the fans down there are having a great time and the weather is being kind to them. It will be a carnival atmosphere and I wish the Mrs and I had been able to go along. Of course none of them would have touched alcohol today but they'll enjoy it
  7. Outwith the Old Firm the other ten teams are much of a much of a muchness and could finish in any order, IMO. The upheaval at Firk Park may mean Motherwell are amongst the bookies favourites for the drop, but I don't think that's necessarily the case. If Gannon makes some good signings and gets the team playing good football, all the changes may prove to be for the sake of progess. You can get away with such radical change in the SPL and still live to tell the tale, provided you have good leadership. It's wide open, IMO.
  8. Has he been drafted in to play due to the tiny squad? Team tracksuit and travelling down with the players ! Fair play to the lad, that's every football fan's idea of a dream job
  9. Good stuff. No point buying a ticket that won't be used unless you have to.
  10. Anyway mate, I'm sure someone from the board who isn't as sad as you doesn't collect tickets will send you theirs after the game so you don't need to buy one.
  11. A bit of guile will see you home. Over 80 percent possession last week, but no final product. You have to make some clear chances down there and then hope someone can take them. The least bit of invention will open up a team like Llanelli.I'm going for a 3-0 away win, but just win the tie. Don't make me come up there
  12. Wish I'd kept some of my replica shirts, used to throw them out when a new strip was launched. I collect important old United programmes. Got the full set from the Munich season, all originals. That's my pride and joy and must be worth a bit.
  13. He's only 12, and providing there's no minimum age for post to folk, make the lad feel welcome. He might feel too intimidated to participate otherwise, and he only wants to chat about his team. I hope his parents are supervising, though.
  14. Give the youngster some encouragement. He's the future of your club.
  15. Are you made of money, big yin? Buying a ticket just so you can keep it.
  16. Never ! Tell the Sned he was a fine player
  17. Guys, who was Alan Sneddon ? Poor bloke seems to have been nominated by almost everyone. Bring back the Sned
  18. How much of the million pounds plus will Gannon be given for signings ? There's also the wages that have been saved by selling many of the top earners, which will help the finances. Gannon has a big job on next season, though no doubt his shopping list will already have been drafted. Let's hope he can get his targets.
  19. More expensive than Old Trafford was back then ! I would have been getting in for about £2. How times have changed
  20. Oi, starting threads on a topic when there is already one running is my thing, fella. See "Shooting from the hip"
  21. I wonder what it cost to get in that day. £2 for adults, perhaps ? And not that long ago when you think about it. It shows how the experience of going to match has improved tremendously in some ways but has gone backwards in others.
  22. Not to mention the referees. What about that penalty ! He would have been expecting free drinks down his ludge all night.
  23. A lot of fair points in that article. Whilst still a huge shock there were even posters on here saying they feared the worst prior to the match, and it is a sad reflection of the state of Scottish football today. When I was a kid Aberdeen and Dundee United were playing in European finals and reaching the semi's of the European Cup. Every kid at school had a designated favourite Scottish team who they adopted and followed their results. Most at my school went for Aberdeen due to Fergie, but it seemed every boy had his Scottish 'second team'. Changed days.
  24. Feck me, how was that tolerated? May as well have let them designate it a home match and forced the 'Well fans to sit on the roof of the stand.
  25. Absolutely. For any one of them to have died so young would have been shocking, but three ! And how come Rangers were given both ends and half of your East Stand ? Was there the same anger back then as surrounded the recent O.F. Cooper Stand policy ?
