  1. I'd like to have seen the big yin. Had to chuckle at the the BBC radio commentary team as they tried to find politically correct ways of describing him. It went from "rotund" to "carrying a few pounds" to finally a comparison with Jan Molby. Seemingly, though, fatty had a great match and had the last laugh.
  2. Remember Strachan's first game at Celtic : 0-5 against Artmedia Bratislava, yet he did ok. Nobody will blame a manager who has been at a club for what is literally a couple of days. At least nobody with any sense will. Gannon proved he likes a challenge when he took on the Stockport job when that club was on the brink of ruin, so he knows how to approach a big re-building job. He needs time to put his stamp on the team and make root and branch changes, and 'Well may emerge the stronger for that.
  3. I don't think they were having a go at Gannon at all, mate. Rather, they are just worried about the size of the task ahead. I'll be interested to read the posts of those at the match to see what they made of it.
  4. Mightn't be the time or the place, fella, but you're right about how poor a result it would be. There will be some 'interesting' language on the forum.
  5. Desperate times now. Lllanelli are out on their feet, surely the goal has to come ???
  6. The attacks sound more dangerous this half. Crucial to get one of them to count.
  7. Boos at the whistle. So much possession but very little cutting edge by the sound of it. Huge 45 minutes ahead.
  8. Talk about against the run of play. Amazing.
  9. Injured defender needs to be replaced. Llanelli sound terrible so far.
  10. Other Welsh centre half picks up early knee injury. Get running at them.
  11. We're listening online via BBC Scotland Sportsound, mate.
  12. Listening online. Very early Llanelli booking for a centre half.
  13. Only two days into July and already it's time for competitive football and to give it "Mon Ye 'Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell" We rarely get to see a match in this kind of heat over here, so make the most of it all of you at the game.
  14. Gloryhunters, like me I'm the daddy of Greater Manchester's 'Well bandwagon, and don't forget it Let's hope Gannon can be just as good up in Scotland.
  15. Great post, CC. Being local I know how popular he was at Edgeley Park, and I hope he can do a similar job at Fir Park. I think he's a great coup for Motherwell and will get it right given a budget and time to work with his players. Exciting appointment.
  16. All the best to him. I said in another thread that when I first posted on the forum a couple of summers back Clarkson was a figure of fun due to his lack of goals. The sadness with which has departure is now being met shows how he's improved. He obviously has guts and has worked hard to prove his doubters wrong. By SPL standards this undisclosed fee will be quite big, and he's earned his chance to move on. I hope he enjoys his time at Bristol.
  17. I think this is an exciting appointment. On the poll thread I said at the time he would be a real coup for you but that 'Well probably wouldn't be able to get him. I'm glad to be proved wrong, and whilst he has a very big job on his hands to re-build a tiny squad, things look brighter. Best of luck to him
  18. Have Rangers lost interest then ?
  19. Where is Reynolds going ?
  20. The three Malpas signed. What happened to them and how many appearances did they make ?
  21. And it's a very arrogant attitude to think that in a couple of years time they will just step in for Gannon. If he does a good job at 'Well, he will be looking for a bigger club than Hibs.
