  1. Spot on. PAO aren't a great side, to back up MJC's statement, when they draw a half decent side today they could be on the end of an absolute doing. What was very noticeable however was the difference in quality all round. None of these Panathinaikos players are ever going to be superstars outwith Greece, but their touch and just being comfortable in general on the ball made all the difference. Just that good first touch which all of their players possessed gave them that extra second with it, Motherwell players(in the main) don't have this and it causes no end of problems and permanently put us on the back foot when PAO started to press. Hot Tattie springs to mind. Plenty of effort from the lads(apart from thumbs down Daley) but unfortunately that only gets you so far, but this isn't a problem exclusive to MFC, it's endemic throughout British Football. We were outclassed when they decided to turn up in the second half and were lucky not to concede 6.
  2. My other hope is that they think the job's done and by the time they realise that Motherwell are going through it'll be too late to for Pana to save the tie...
  3. Play like we did against Pana and a scudding is on the cards for County, make no mistake about it. Play in 2nd gear and save something for Wednesday and the game will be a bit tougher. After all how good can a team that contains Fraser and a defence of the Wife beater, Fitzy, Munro and Boyd be? Absolutely honking choices in defence. Murphy, Ojamaa and Higdon could have a field day in Dingwall on Saturday.
  4. If you're going to throw something at an opposition player bounding down the touchline, make sure it's something that might stop him like a £2 coin, a dart, pipe bomb, IED or AP Mine. A bit of paper isn't going to do any serious damage or stop any potential attacks is it? These people really need to think about what they are doing before acting. As for UEFA fines, I've been at games where players have been pelted with coins, lighters, pen knives and any other implement fans could get their hands on and not so much as slap on the wrists has been handed out. I wouldn't be wetting my pants too much with regards to that.
  5. Said it before, Morris Day and The Time and 2 Unlimited repeated continuously, even when the game is in progress.
  6. Humphrey because he's shite...
  7. Had a Turkish taxi driver last night en route to the airport. Explained to him I was flying back to Scotland for the football and we were playing Pana. His response was; "I hate the Greeks, I'm now a Motherwell fan and I hope you fuck them up" Some boy and gave me discount to boot
  8. 2/3 of a shift to go, then I'm catching the 8pm flight tonight back to Scotland and jetting back out again on a red eye on Wednesday morning, hopefully rough as fuck from a night of partying!! MON' THE FUCKIN' 'WELL!!!!!!! I'll have went aff like a kep by 10am tomorrow morning
  9. Karagounis hasn't re-signed for the coming the season and it's very doubtful that he will. Wouldn't expect him to feature in our tie at all.
  10. Make no mistake about it, the Greek league in general over the last 7/8 years has dramatically went downhill and in the main is absolutely shite. Olympiakos, with the relatively decent finanaces they have, will win the league at a canter for the next 5 possibly even 10 years as their historical rivals Panatinaikos and AEK have about as much money as Rangers did before they went out the game. PAOK and Aris again are decent, but not in the same league as Olympiakos. Signing the occasional Brazilian or 7ft african right back does not make you a good team, no Karagounis and Katsouranis being on the road out doesn't make them anything to be feared. I fully expect them to be decent technically, but if Odense put out last years side with ease and with the current squad being considerably poorer then the one the Danes brushed aside, then we have a good chance of doing something. Kiev and Fenerbahce would have dicked us, of that I have no doubt, but we have landed a decent draw here and need to take advantage of it.
  11. intae these plate smashing bastards Motherwell!!
  12. The benefits of owning a cricket sun hat in such weather will be bonus, eh big man?
  13. Have looked into the possibility of hiring a bus to take the troops to Heathrow and back to save the hassle of trains, planes, tubes any other mode of transport. The idea would be a central pick up early hours on Monday morning(time can be suited for those on early flights) returning on Thursday night and driving through the night to arrive early doors on Friday. Just a thought to gauge interest. Have been looking at 16's 24's 33's and 52 seaters(obviously the presence of a shiter will reduce pish stops). Obviously the more people, the less it costs and Motherwell straight to T1 would be perfect. I will leave this up for a few days and make a decision around Wednesday time.
  14. Ideal! When in Rome... Or should that be Athens?
  15. May as well start off the roll call of who's hitting The Glorious City in a few weeks time. Flying from Heathrow to Athens on Monday 6th returning on Thursday 8th. Staying at Hotel Achillion.
  16. Having just recently checked all destinations the price range for return flight for both dates was £200-£350 to Kiev/Istanbul/Athens and about £120 to Denmark.
  17. Woods! It was always Woods.
  18. Will happily set up a "Youth Development/Pitch Development/Stair Painting/Gutter Cleaning" Standing order every month should the Club ask for it. If everyone could add in even £5 a month extra to what they already give the club I'm sure it would help.
  19. For those who are of the XXL persuasion, hit the slim fast for a bit before donning the new strip. belter of a strip in the flesh.
  20. He''l be off to England with a good few others. The vultures have already circled round Murray Park to get any decent player they can for free.
  21. I'm doing a one man protest at De Kuip. Only Motherwell fan in Rotterdam.
  22. I know it's old but, We're not the the Tartan Army.
