It baffles me with every passing shitfest how Robinson has managed to ascend to achieve the UEFA Pro Licence and be an assessor fro the Irish FA. There is almost nothing on the park that suggests we are a top flight footballing team. If we aren't relegated this year, then we will most certainly be the following season. I've gotten bored of even bothering to start picking apart how shite a footballing team we are. That was a fucking holocaust of a performance against a really, really average side. In a season of demoralising mediocrity, especially at Fir Park, that disaster is right up there. The season's pretty much over unless we get even worse and get caught by 3 of the worst teams ever to blacken the Scottish top flight. Unbelievably grim stuff.

2018’19 Game 14: Livingston (A) Saturday 1st December 2018

Honking performance by all accounts. As an aside, that pitch should never see professional football played on it. Undoubtedly an advantage for Livi. -
If we can get a bit of confidence back and start playing football, none of those games should have us quaking in our boots. Hearts are having an injury crisis, Aberdeen aren't great and neither are Rangers, we can always take something from Celtic at Fir Park, Livi are honking and we have to end our abysmal run in Perth sometime. When you take a step a step back, whilst still difficult, it's not the nightmarish run it looked to be a few weeks ago.

2018’19 Game 10: St Mirren (A) Wednesday 31st October 2018
Burn_Broomfield replied to Andy_P's topic in Club Chat
MUST, MUST WIN! At all costs. I don't care how we do it as long as we do it. Worryingly though, I'm not particularly confident we can go there and get a win. -
Both currently employed. VDG at NAC Breda and Simo at Tromso.

Without trying to compare too much or heaping additional pressure on the lad, he's very much in the Andy Robertson type mould. As fit as a fiddle, a great engine that lets him bomb forward as well as defend, good on the ball, excellent quality crosses and a decent eye for goal.
-
I maybe wasn't quite as happy as others were when we resigned Aldred. He looked decent, but very limited playing alongside Kipre/Dunne/McHugh. This season there's been no Kipre and he's looked pretty horrendous in most matches. I'd be looking to bin either him or Hartley asap from the starting XI. Maguire, McHugh and Dunne would be my shout as we persist with 3 at the back. Livingstone into left wingback and Tait on the right.
-
Genuinely; Turnbull, Livingstone and Maguire should be in our first team starting XI or thereabouts. The signings in the summer of Sammon, Donnelly, ATS and even Gorrin seem all the more mental when you have players in the youth ranks who are visibly and significantly better footballers. Brown, Watson and Mbulu look like very decent prospects for us. Scott is a significantly better forward than Sammon, with his touch being better than Bowman's. Hastie is going to be a terrific player for Motherwell. The most entertained I've been by football team at Fir Park this season. Football played the right way, the ball sprayed around by a very comfortable looking team of accomplished footballers. Final word on the ref today; He didn't half let some wild tackles go.

2018’19 Game 9: St Johnstone (H) Saturday 20th October 2018

I'd like to see something a bit different in terms of personnel and formation. The longer we shoe horn players into a system rather than finding a system to fit the players, the longer we'll be looking for performances and results. Just throwing it out there. Carson Tait Hartley Dunne Livingstone Campbell Rose Cadden Turnbull/Bigi Main Bad News/Johnson Obviously we'll line up 3-5-2 with numerous players out of position though. -

Absolutely dug shite. Donnelly is stealing a wage and a place in the team at the expense of Maguire. We got a bit of luck with the goal and the disallowed Livi goal, but we created very little. Livi were shite as well. -

We have to win next week given the 3 teams around us have tough games. -

As soon as the 2nd Killie goal went in it was game over. This team unfortunately doesn't look likely to turn defeats in to wins, but looks plenty capable of turning wins into defeats. -

Improve 12-18 -
A sweeping generalisation there. People are more than entitled to their views in regards to our manager and most don't want any of the above as an alternative. I'd probably guess most would be looking towards Craigan and Lasley as the men in charge firstly then to look outside the box if they don't want the gig. We've recruited incredibly poorly on the back of a financially beneficial season where we stayed in the league despite some absolutely horrendous runs of form and results. We should have been on the front foot trying to build on that good fortune as opposed to "just staying in the league" again. If those in charge at all levels set us up as a team to avoid relegation, packed full of journeymen and English lower league dross, season after season; we will inevitably be relegated in the not too distant future and will find it extremely difficult to bounce back quickly. As a footballing side we are somehow regressing and it is glaringly obvious to most the many deficiencies our team has. It's a big few months for Robbo with a run of very winnable fixtures from now up until the winter break. If things haven't improved by then, there will certainly be a call to make by the board whether he stays on and if he and his scouts are allowed to sign anymore players. I do genuinely hope he turns it around because I like him a lot, but the statistics, the results and the product on show are conspiring against him.
-
Is it 8 wins in our last 34 league games? 7 wins this calender year, with 3 of those against Dundee and then St Johnstone, Partick, Ross County (both relegated) and Accies. The league stats make for pretty grim reading if I'm being honest. Robbo must turn it around soon, but with no Cup run to take the focus off the abject league form then he will be under serious pressure if things don't show any signs of improvement by the end of October.
-
We're in one and at present we will be one of the main players. As said previously, there's no cup run to mask our brutal league form which has to be addressed.
-
We're shite, no 2 ways about it. The defence that kept a record number of clean sheets is but a memory. This current one couldn't keep weans out a close.

2018'19 Game 5: Heart of Midlothian (H) Saturday 15th September 2018
Burn_Broomfield replied to Andy_P's topic in Club Chat
Watching the highlights, I'd say it's pretty clear that it isn't a good tackle from Uche. Studs up, late and reckless. In saying that, the pass from Aldred isn't a great one and McHugh's is even worse. I'm disappointed to have lost that game as Hearts were pretty poor throughout. A difficult run of games coming up for a number of reason, but nothing to fear against the sides we are playing in them. Main needs a goal badly and we need to give Turnbull and Gorrin some game time in that midfield. Cadden looks well on the road to burnout and could be doing with a rest from the starting XI with an emphasis on being an impact sub if we need him. -

Not to say his recovery isn't going well, but you can't rush the rehabilitation programme for knee injuries of this nature. It takes as long as it takes unfortunately. -

I don't expect to see either anywhere near the squad until December. Tanner won't play at Livi or Accies during that month either. -

We've started playing football and mixing our style up a bit. It's no coincidence that we've improved from the early season dross served up,hopefully last seen against Accies. -

I think that is currently part of the problem with Cadden. He just looks a bit off the pace and could probably benefit from a break rather than more Scotland games. I did say at the time of his call up to full team that he could have been doing without it.
