  1. Like the special edition 125 top fans should have an option to buy it if they want. However, I would have kept it purely as leisure wear available to buy in The Well Shop. Personally, I would have thought long and hard about releasing it as an official team kit as it does seem a bit naff. It also spoils a nice kit.
  2. The Lazio Macron shirt has button poppers, so there is some hope.
  3. Just for fun, a quick colour experiment with the shorts. Amber, claret and white.
  4. The club and new sponsor have to be applauded for giving the fans the opportunity to buy replica kits without the sponsors logo. However, hopefully it had no baring on the money we received for the deal.
  5. Afraid not it’s still a mystery. Although, whoever stitches the badges will require vector artwork to work from. And, you would have to assume the artwork used is supplied by Motherwell, not Macron.
  6. I no longer buy tops (apart from the odd retro number), however, my design OCD would prevent me from buying an otherwise excellent shirt. I don't see why they can’t just trace the outline of the badge, without feeling the need to add/thicken lines that are not there on the original crest. Basically, they are causing problems that aren’t there in the first place. However, I am pretty certain that I am in the minority and the kits will sell very well to the intended fanbase.
  7. Once again the bizarre finish on the club badge has taken away from an otherwise excellent retro looking design. They have added/stitched extra bold lines around the top and bottom of our badge. When it would have been better/easier to stick to its natural shape. I know I am a stickler for detail, however, please tell me that I am not the only one who thinks this is odd? Left: Badge stitched on the kit. Right: Our official club badge.
  8. Looks like velcro to me. Buttons are classier, however, everything seems to be velcro these days.
  9. Apart from the sponsor the replica kits will be the same as the first team kits. Fans generally prefer kits without the sponsors logo and I think it’s great that Motherwell are offering this service.
  10. The tweet about the home shirt could be interpreted in a another way. So is it on or off the home kit?
  11. All kits look better without sponsors. Although I suspect the home might be sold with the Motorpoint logo. Not sure about the away and third.
  12. I much prefer either claret or white home shorts. The whole amber thing can be a bit overload. I love white kits, however, I would have preferred this one without the 91 cup final team names. The home is a very 80s/90s retro look which I do love. I’ll reserve judgment on the badge stitching until I can see it in the flesh (although the white kit badge stitching looks suspect on the pictures). I would give the home kit 8 out of 10 and the special edition third 5 out of 10 (it would have been higher, however, I just don’t get the 91 cup love in).
  13. Initial thoughts, I like the collar on the home, although, I am not so keen on the away style. I am happy that we have a claret band on both the front and back of the shirt. However, if I had to nit pick I would have preferred a full unbroken hoop. I was never a fan of the whole 91 thing and I would have much preferred a 130th Anniversary kit.
  14. I wonder what became of the rumoured Well Society shirt? There were some hints a while back that we might produce a special top with the names of the society members sublimated onto the shirt (similar to Hearts).
  15. I would think so as the club indicated on Twitter that it would be this week. However, they are seemingly only revealing the home and third kits with the away being launched the following week.
  16. Please don’t have nightmares...
  17. Agreed. They should have went with... McHugh transfer leaves a bad taste in the Portsmouth
  18. It was mentioned on Twitter that the Motherwell 70s stalwart Jim McCabe has sadly passed away (can anyone confirm?). Like Joe Wark he was one of my favourite players to watch when I was a kid.
  19. Yes any colour other than claret, amber or white will effect the over all look of the kit. Unfortunately, money talks before any design aesthetics.
  20. Not the worst logo in the world, however, the Castle Water brand would sit better on the hoop/band. Given a choice I would just use the ‘m’ icon from the logo. Zero chance of that happening though.
  21. I couldn’t resist. I’ve given the new Roma home kit the Motherwell ‘Summer Cup’ treatment (well I’ve added a hoop. Lol).
  22. This is the Macron collar template that I am hoping for...
  23. The Castle Water logo is very prominent at press conferences, so perhaps they are ready to step up to become the main sponsor. Time will tell.
  24. Any rumours/clues to who it might be? A while back I proposed Castle Water, although that was just pure guess work given that they have previously sponsored the back of our shirts. Whoever, it is I hope their logo/colours are sympathetic to the new designs.
