  1. I am probably in the minority, however, I like hooped sleeves. They also provide a ready made guide as to where to stick the now compulsory premiership sleeve patches. This design is a blend of two classic Motherwell shirt designs. The 1960s crew neck top and the late 1920s-50s hooped sleeve shirts. Both the claret chest hoop and the hooped sleeves are two of the most recognisable design elements in our shirt history. I reckon this combination has the potential to make an interesting fantasy 130th Anniversary shirt.
  2. Yes I do agree, however, there have been better examples over the years produced by other clubs. The more subtle approach is the way forward. This could be either a slightly darker claret name sublimation on the hoop or a slightly darker amber on the main shirt. If done right, it has the potential to look pretty smart.
  3. I think all clubs are required to submit an illustration or description of any new design in advance of the new season. These illustrations/designs will have been thought out on many months in advance in preparation for the 2016/17 season. As for the design, I really hope that we produce a classic shirt design that in some way acknowledges our 130 year heritage. However, that doesn’t mean that we should trot out in the blue and white vertical striped shirts that we wore in 1886. My personal preference would be for a subtly sublimated past and present player name design. Although, I suspect it will be the more usual 130 years text positioned around the club badge or on the back of the collar. There was some talk about having the names of members of the Well society on the shirt (similar to the Hearts Foundation Puma top), however, this would alienate a sizeable proportion of our fan base who's name would not feature on the top.
  4. Whilst the 91 cup win was a great achievement for the club, I personally had no real desire to celebrate it 25 years on. I would be more inclined to celebrate the 130 years that the club has been in existence. I would like to think that the club will recognise that milestone in some way next season, by looking back over past glories and great players who have played for the club. This could be in the form of an exhibition of memorabilia at Fir Park or with some mention on next seasons kit. Maybe a little cliched now, however, I have always liked the idea of having the names of past and present players sublimated on to the shirts. As a kit fan this to me would be a nice way to honour some of the players who have played for us over the last 130 years.
  5. Another enjoyable listen guys, keep up the good work.
  6. No timescale appears to have been given when we announced our Macron deal. The previous Puma contract lasted for 4 seasons and we have currently been with Macron for 2 seasons. Out with the pre mid 70s shirt dominance of Bukta/Umbro (back when nearly every pro shirt was made by either Bukta (Est. 1879), Umbro (Est. 1924) or by some obscure gentleman’s outfitter ) our longest partnership was the 9 season deal with the American based soccer company Xara. I think it’s important to mix it up every now and then and adidas is a company we have not been with since season 81-82.
  7. A mock up that is as rough as a badgers arse, however, the new Sweden home would compliment the earlier adidas away teamwear design. I wouldn’t be adverse to seeing us back an adidas kit sometime in the future, although I would imagine Macron will be here for a few years yet.
  8. Yes inspiration was the wrong word to use. Where did your ‘reference’ come from would have been better.
  9. Yes it’s very rare to see the main stand full. I suspect (as Andy P said) it’s been copied from a image similar to the one below and the crowd has been added in.
  10. If his source was one of my paintings, the outcome is a vast improvement on the original! To soften the blow, at least I would be due a fee from everyone he sells!
  11. No certainly not, as a working artist myself, I support all artists. I was merely asking what the source of his painting was.
  12. May well be, however, I just wondered where the inspiration came from. Copyright law is pretty strict and if you paint a picture directly from a photograph you need permission from the originator to be able to sell it. In this instance it looks as if it’s been painted from a fans or his own snapshot.
  13. Was this painted from your own photograph? The reason I am asking is, I did a mixed media painting of Motherwell legend Joe Wark at the start of the year, however, the image it was painted from is copyrighted. A fee needs to be payed to the copyright holder first before I can legitimately sell prints. I was hoping to give all profits to the Remember Well charity, however, the copyright owner of the original photograph still wants a fee (I managed to get it reduced due to the charity thing).
  14. Probably because I’m old, however, unless there is a kit clash, I have always preferred teams to wear their home kit where possible. Unfortunately clubs want to punt replica kit and that has meant the away kit gets used more an more. In the 60s/70s it was rare to see a team wearing an away kit.
  15. A win would give us a great chance of being top six. The extra cash it would bring would also be a welcome bonus. 2-1 Motherwell.
  16. Mix enjoyed it and noising up the Dundee fans. Lol
  17. A Dundee United victory in today’s derby would go some way to helping our top 6 push.
  18. When Wes came on I was willing the boy to score. I reckon if he can get one he has the potential to go on a Moult style run, however, he really needs a confidence boosting goal. He had a gilt edge chance in the second half and instead of slotting it away in the far corner he hit it directly at the keeper. If he takes one, I think more often than not these failed attempts will turn into goals.
  19. Due to injuries, illnesses and lack of training for any absentees I’m afraid the best we can hope for would be a draw. However, due to all these factors I fear that our winning streak will come to an end. 2-0 Aberdeen.
  20. To be on the safe side I showered in Dettol.
  21. Les speaks to the Daily Mail.
  22. Well Society Interim chairmain Douglas Dickie will be on @BBCSportsound tonight.
