  1. I agree, one to avoid in the draw on Monday. They have a +38 GD in league one and are not afraid to have a go.
  2. I wasn’t at the game, however, it was good to hear that it was a professional performance from the team to see us through to the next round. The winner of the EK tie at Fir Park in the next round please.
  3. I am not a Unionist, however, I don’t see why you think an avatar would make any difference to Lord Tanamo’s opinions.
  4. Yes, the chart on the STV website is pretty depressing
  5. Due to work, I am unable to make Saturdays game, however, I don’t want any nasty surprises from Fir Park when I return home. We need to play our strongest team and treat Cove Rangers with the respect they deserve.
  6. Maybe that’s the best way, whether intentional or not, a penalty is awarded. At the moment it’s far too open to interpretation by match officials. Players should be instructed that if the ball touches your hand in the penalty area it’s a penalty. However, I would allow the referee some discretion on whether the handball merits a booking or ordering off.
  7. I assumed he applied the ‘rule?’ of unnatural arm position, in which you risk being struck by the ball due to the position of your arm/hand. This ‘rule?’ appears to be used by some refs but not all. It would also appear that he thought Lasley was far enough away (roughly 10/12ft) from the attacking player to avoid being struck by the ball.
  8. Worth remembering that Faddy was involved in the Albion Rovers debacle, and he more than most will remember the hurt of getting knocked out the cup by part time opposition.
  9. Watching the penalty incident on Sportscene in HD, Lasley’s hand is certainly in an unnatural position when he deflects the ball, a definite penalty.
  10. The referee must have judged it as being deliberate hand ball, however, only Lasley can say if it was, or not. Has he spoken about it? Edit: I found this quote in an article about the hand ball rule from 2013... And on this blog, Flaws of the Game. http://flawsofthegame.blogspot.co.uk/p/deliberate-handball.html
  11. If we lose this one, the players will need to find a remote cove to hide in.
  12. Do we know if the same person won all three prizes?
  13. The ball did hit his arm, however, it’s debatable where it would have ended up if Keith hadn’t touched it. If it had been at the other end, I definitely would have been claiming for it.
  14. I remember Davie Cooper standing near the centre circle waving to the away support at full time after we had won (I can’t remember the opposition), however, that kind of banter is all part and parcel of the game.
  15. Skippy for me, he worked his ass off for the full 90+ minutes.
  16. 2 points lost, in my opinion, however, Hamilton do score goals and we knew that we would have to be strong in defence to stop them. Unfortunately, they mugged us at the end to get the point.
  17. I would be happy if Faddy never made the team, as that would more than likely mean that we are still winning. He’s a great player to have around the club, however, in football there is no place for sentiment.
  18. After his appearance on Peter and Roughie, is there any chance of getting Gahagan on the podcast to talk more about his time playing with Motherwell? I know the after dinner speaking/comedy thing is pretty much his job now, however, if you ask nicely maybe he would come on.
