  1. I was also very impressed with the lad. A future Motherwell ‘Hall’ of Fame contender. I’ll get my coat.
  2. Match programme available to buy here, however, apart from that I have no info on the game itself.
  3. It was, however, a psychologist would have a field day with Gahagan. He seemed a little on edge during the interview and at one point he asks Roughie if his answers are “okay’ which makes you wonder if he has some self confidence issues. Still, it was good to see an ex Well player make it on to their football legends programme. I always enjoyed watching him play, and it was sad to see him leave for Morton and ultimately miss out on a potential place on the 91 cup winning bench.
  4. Yes, however, the way this ref was interpreting the rules, you just never know! Lol
  5. Another tough match, Hamilton have goals in them, however, hopefully we can score one more than them. 3-2 Motherwell.
  6. For what it’s worth, it should have been deliberate hand ball and a straight red. Too harsh? I personally thought the ref had a really poor game, and on another day that level of performance could cost you the 3 points.
  7. Superb. 7 days left to catch Gahagan on Peter and Roughie. http://player.stv.tv/episode/36ks/peter-roughie-football/
  8. Ripely for me, I thought he had an outstanding game and made a few very important saves at crucial points in the match.
  9. Another excellent three points and more importantly it increases the gap between us and the bottom two. I thought Ripley was outstanding tonight and is one of the main reasons why we came away with all three points.
  10. Teams in the 50s/60s/70s played through all weathers and the parks were more like ploughed fields. Players today, don’t know their born! Lol Seriously though, I much prefer to watch a game on a good surface.
  11. One of the best strikers I have ever seen in a Motherwell shirt.
  12. Willie Pettigrew, Shoot, Most Exciting Scottish Player of the Year, 1976
  13. Ross County beat Killie 3-2 tonight, this has to be a positive result for us as we now have three games in hand over Killie, and we are a point better off.
  14. Agreed, very few surfaces could withstand that kind of deluge. Fingers crossed it bypasses Fir Park.
  15. I see John Gahagan is on Peter and Roughies legends special show. Worth a watch. John Gahagan, Wednesday December 30 Former Motherwell player John shares in the humour from his playing days, the darkness of his personal life and the laughter from the after-dinner circuit.
  16. Motherwell v St.Johnstone, Fir Park, season 1968-69.
  17. My favourite Motherwell v St.Johnstone image.
  18. It’s not like the park of old and hopefully it will withstand the expected downpour prior to kick off. I am sure the ground staff will be doing everything in their power to make sure that the match is on.
