  1. And Tommy Wright’s advice to his strikers playing against Pearson, will be to wind him up, provoke him, and niggle him.
  2. I see the the young Dundee United YouTuber is still posting stuff online about the demise of his team.
  3. Like yourself Andy I never found Malky’s cartoons particularly funny. However, through my job I had to commissioned a few cartoons from him. On one occasion he was running so late, that he had to draw the cartoon in the back of the cab on the way to our office. Laterly his personal life took over his cartooning. His son was badly brain damaged in an unprovoked attack outside a Kilmarnock night club. Shortly after this incident Malky plead guilty in court to punching his wife, and it soon became clear that his mental state was not good. The last I heard he was still causing mayhem (and not in a good way) in and around Ayrshire.
  4. A quick side by side comparison with a more sympathetic sponsors logo.
  5. They share the same formation year as Motherwell (1886), due to their links with football it’s was more of a fun idea rather than a serious sponsor. Ideally you would want a more sympathetic logo design, however, in football shirt sponsorship that is not always possible.
  6. St.Johnstone are a good side and I fully expect this one to end in a draw. 2-2 for me.
  7. I have been looking at a some recent Macron templates and this Bologna away shirt has the potential to make a nice away top. The polo shirt look is not for everyone, however, I have always loved this style of collar.
  8. Yeah, if Ripley gets called back, Samson will be our new number one. I personally hope we can sort out an extension in order to keep a bit of consistency in what is a specialised position.
  9. United will be doing the bare minimum to get this game on, and I will be pleasantly surprised if it gets the go ahead.
  10. Yes it’s Malky. He was the main man when it came to football cartoons. The anti-sectarian message was quite unusual for the time and a bold move by Malky and the Football Scot Weekly.
  11. If I was a betting man I would be putting my money on Castle Water on being our next shirt sponsor, however, the board and Les may have other ideas. A while back. I uploaded a fantasy shirt with a Coke logo purely because we shared the same birth year (1886). I don’t think they where ever touted as a potential shirt sponsor, however, a charity was muted by some.
  12. Motherwell get a mention in this 1970’s Christmas Alphabet cartoon featuring Bobby Watson from the Football Scot Weekly. M is for... Morton and Motherwell made ’Spurs sick...
  13. With our Cash Convertors deal due to expire at the end of this season, I was wondering on peoples thoughts on the type of sponsor that we might be able to attract next year. In recent years we have had our fair share of betting and pawn shop backers, however, it would be nice to have something a little different next season. As we approach our 130th birthday it would be great to have a sponsor that shares the same birth year. Apart from us, the most high profile company to be founded in 1886 is Coca Cola. However, a much meatier beverage with strong links to football were also founded in 1886, and that company is Bovril. It’s time that our marketing department made Bovril aware of this 130 year link and approached them about a big money sponsorship deal.
  14. Faddy posing in the recently redecorated tunnel.
  15. Nice. At long last, shaving brushes with a proper front to back claret hoop. If only our next home top could be the same.
  16. Another excellent listen lads, fuck Christmas telly, I lay in my scratcher listening to the MFC Podcast.
  17. I would agree with you ropy, Marv has been another positive from Baraclough's tenure.
  18. Another three points would be great and it would also be good to watch this YouTube guy go into complete melt down... 2-1 Motherwell.
  19. The meaning of attendance is, ‘the number of people present at a particular place or event’. If they include season ticket holders who were not physically at the game, then surely for historical records, they have to supply the number that watched the match in person. I hope we don’t subscribe to this same practice, as it it always good to know the exact number who attend each game.
  20. They may well do, is that the same for all the other clubs, including us?
  21. Another positive from today is that United and Killie both dropped more points. This depressed United fan on YouTube could give that angry/depressed Killie fan a run for his money.
  22. The BBC report has the attendance down as 42,603, it certainly didn’t look anywhere near that from the MFC YouTube highlights.
