I think I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that our premiership status will come to an end this season. It’s been fun.

You are being kinder to this squad of players than they deserve. They are definitely in the top ten of the worst Motherwell teams I’ve witnessed in my 50 + years of watching the Well. And at 58 years of age I’ve seen a fair few in my time. I’ll also be kind to them and rank them at number 10 in my list. However, if they get relegated they will easily be in the top 5 due to poor standard of opposition they have had to face.

We need to be aware that County have managed something that we have failed to do under our new manager and that’s win a game. It will not be easy to take anything from this match that’s for sure.

We need to remember that like last season this season could finish at anytime and whoever is bottom at that time will be relegated. The bar was set when Hearts were sent down. Going into the latter part of the season the quicker we get ourselves off the bottom the better.
