He’s certainly a great find. I am sure he scored a good few before he came to us, something like 40 goals over two seasons. I know those leagues weren’t the best standard, however, I am sure he will be aiming to get at least 20 for us.

A great result today, Motherwell have this great ability of surprising me when I least expect it.

A strange one this, however, his experience will be very welcome.

You tend to forget just how many well supported teams have fallen out of the top league. When playing well Dunfermline, St.Mirren, Morton and numerous other sides have the potential to bring big away crowds. One of our biggest away supports last season came from Partick Thistle, I can’t remember how many they brought, however, it must have been close to around 1500.

Celtic’s defence is suspect at times, however, I just don’t know if we will be able to unlock it. I have the feeling that McGhee is the type of manager who rights these games off, and will send us out with a damage limitation mentality. With that in mind, I can’t see anything other than a 2-0 defeat.

As a kit fan it was interesting to see both sides wearing their diagonal sash tops. I can’t remember the last time two sides turned out at Fir Park both wearing classic diagonal sash shirt designs. one for or the photo history buffs, here is an image from the same fixture from around Sept 1984. On this occasion we lost 3-1 and the crowd doesn’t look much bigger.
