For starters, we need to be able to score more than one goal. One goal will rarely get you anything in the SPFL and if we could increase that to two, or even three, we will win more than we lose.
Panini card squad picture 1981.
A few typo’s on the card as our home shirt has been mistakenly listed as claret with amber stripes and the away as black and white. We never did get an official adidas away kit, however, Dundee United did once loan us their black and white away kit when we played them in a match at Fir Park.
Aye, it was, however, spare a thought for the Dundee United fans trip back home in 1954 when we thumped them 12-1.
I am not sure on that one, however, I do remember United created enough chances to avenge that 1954 drubbing
For some strange reason Celtic players Latchford and Dalglish parade the Scottish Cup at Fir Park. Anyone recognise the young mascot in the Motherwelll away kit?
Motherwell’s 70s pin up boy, Peter Marinello. In his Arsenal days I think he once co-hosted an edition of Top of the Pops.
This has to be my favourite picture of Peter, I know it was the 70s, however, what the hell was he thinking about going out dressed like that?
Not a lot of people, however, it is still worrying that a small fan base like us are ahead of Hearts or Aberdeen. Just imagine if we had a bigger support, we would be challenging Rangers for the bad boys title.
Those stats surprised me, as due to their bigger fan base I was expecting Hearts, Aberdeen or Hibernian to be next on the list. Not the sort of league table you want to be at the top of.
