  1. To be fair Jimmy Calderwoodstain led Aberdeen to the last 32 of European competition for the first time since 1986. So I would say he was the best of a bad lot.
  2. Not much happening on the live feed at the moment, McGhee is keeping them waiting.
  3. Mark McGhee will hold his first news conference since returning for a second spell as Motherwell manager and you can watch it live on STV. McGhee arrived at Fir Park with the club's general manager Alan Burrows and will address the media from 5.30pm. You can watch his news conference here. The 58-year-old, who has been working as Gordon Strachan’s assistant with the Scotland national team, has replaced Ian Baraclough following the Englishman’s sacking last month. McGhee enjoyed a spell as boss at Fir Park between 2007 and 2009 before leaving to join his former club Aberdeen. The Steelmen finished third in 2007/08 and qualified for Europe in the process with a team containing future Scotland internationals Ross McCormack and Mark Reynolds. Motherwell sit ninth in the Scottish Premiership table with ten points from their opening ten games but were knocked out of the League Cup by Greenock Morton. Caretaker boss Stephen Craigan has overseen a victory over Partick Thistle and defeat to Dundee. Ex-Motherwell midfielder Simo Valakari and former Kilmarnock boss Mixu Paatelainen had both been linked with the vacancy.
  4. I voted yes, I wanted an experienced manager and we appear to have brought one in. Will McGhee be off at a hint of interest from another club? Yes, however we need someone to steady the ship, and at this moment McGhee fits the bill.
  5. Was just about to say that I can’t wait for the influx of Germans into our squad.
  6. McGhee will sell his soul to the highest bidder, however, his appointment would hopefully see us playing entertaining football again. The stuff we have been watching over the last few months has been akin to watching paint dry on the home dressing room wall. Personally, I would have chosen an experienced manager who had no links with the club, however, if it is McGhee then so be it.
  7. If you believe some reports, he was minutes from boarding a plane to meet Romanov before Boyle convinced him to stay.
  8. I see Dundee United contacted St Johnstone with a view to speaking to Tommy Wright about him becoming United’s new manager but the approach was rejected by the Saints board.
  9. Peter Millar. Back in the days when Shoot! magazine would give quite good coverage to provincial clubs
  10. We will need to wait for the Finnish season to finish.
  11. Yet another superb podcast lads, Martyn seems like a very passionate guy and his enthusiasm for Motherwell and game was clear to see.
  12. It takes a brave club to appoint someone like Di Canio, however, it certainly wouldn’t be boring.
  13. If I am declared homeless because of your tip, I will hunt you down. I will find you, and I will kill you.
  14. The days when sponsors still used models to promote tournaments. Model Cherly Murray was the lucky girl who got to represented Motherwell.
  15. In 1970, Alex McAnally was Fan of the Week in the Football Scot. Anyone remember Alex?
  16. I reckon our next appointment will be an experienced campaigner and Jimmy Calderwoodstain certainly fits the bill. A man with his experience and knowledge of the Scottish game would pretty much steer us clear of any relegation worries.
  17. I am shocked, I was just chatting to Remember Well today about a project I have in mind involving Joe. R.I.P Joe.
  18. 1983, in the days when we still got bespoke claret and amber tracksuits
