  1. You can't mention The Champions League without this.
  2. I wonder what odds JAXX were giving on that happening?
  3. Not sure but if the same problems crop up on the away strip as on the home it will be very disappointing. We know there was a problem regarding the JAXX logo on the home top and you would have thought they would have learned their lesson by now. I remember the early days of heatsealed transfers on shirts and players had letters missing from their names due to some peeling off. Of course todays problem may be a one off event but we won't know until the shirt goes on sale to the public.
  4. The new away top as well.
  5. Superb win. Still undefeated in what could have been a potentially tricky game against an experienced Dundee United side. Well done lads! "Jim Gannon's Motherwell Army!"
  6. Yeah i've seen that pic many times before but without a caption or some written conformation from a reliable source we can't list it as a kit. It is very difficult to find information about early strips as reporters at the game would need to have mentioned the team colours in the match report.
  7. As they weren't SFA members their colours were not registered. If you have any evidence written or otherwise Dave at Historical Kits will be only too happy to hear from you. Any information that can help fill in the missing kits is very welcome.
  8. I noticed a few shirts at the Rangers game where the Jaxx logo had gone and some where it was starting to peel or crack. These people had obviously chosen not to take them back. In the cases where it was no longer there, I think they were the lucky ones.
  9. Disgraceful that the official site got the score wrong. If your going to get it wrong you might as well make it 2-1 to us.
  10. I see JG is doing his pundit bit on Radio Scotland today for the Hamilton v Hibs game.
  11. Not sure about that. Listened to all the talk on the way back from the game and Dodds claimed he was stuck behind a pillar and couldn't get a clear view. Infact they were all slagging him about it.
  12. I noticed in the oldfootballshirts.com 'Top 5 Shirts Viewed' table the sample blue sash shirt is at number 5 behind England 1993, Roma 2000, Real Madrid 2004 & Parma 1998.
  13. I'm sure we have a full away kit so there won't be a problem.
  14. A lot of good performances but Yassin Moutouakil just shades it.
  15. I doubt if we will fill 3/4 of the Cooper stand. But as has been mentioned before Rangers and Celtic have struggled to achieve this in recent games. More importantly the fans that are there need to get behind the team and really make some noise!
  16. Selective editing from the 'news'papers is nothing new. TV and other media are also guilty of this technique. Remember... "The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn't being said."
  17. Excerp from Alick Milne's strip history archive... SFA registered colours: Alpha / Glencairn 1885/86 (as 'Alpha') – Navy blue jersey and hose, and white knickers - Glencairn's [the other team in the merger] colours are not known - they were not SFA members Motherwell 1886/87 – Blue and white perpendicular striped jersey, blue knickers Diiscription of the last few seasons 'blue' was used as our main colour. 1909/10, 1911/12, 1912/13: ('Saturday Post' 26/03/1910, Motherwell history, 'Dundee Advertiser 16/09/1912): - Light blue shirt, button collar, no turnover - White shorts - Navy socks, two white hoops the term "light blue" was often used in Scotland to describe what I would call "mid-blue" to distinguish it from navy blue, which was the most popular colour in Scotland.
  18. Most of the early stuff came from football historian Alick Milne and has been sourced from club minutes, SFA registered colours and newspapers from the time. I have a copy of this sent to me from Alick. If i find it i will post it up. The petrol blue shade came about from an early cigarette card but due to the printing process these colours were never accurate. In truth our blue was probably some bog standard blue.
  19. I entered that one as well, needless to say my design wasn't chosen. Not sure we would have looked that good with a claret lightening bolt sash on an amber top. I'm sure it was our then manager Roger Hynd's idea to give the fans a chance to design our kit. At least I got there in the end with my 2006 winning 1950's retro inspired effort.
  20. There are few of our past away shirts pictured on oldfootballshirts.com
