  1. Busy getting married. What a player he was, we could be doing with finding another striker like him.
  2. Cancel all plans for a Turnbull statue and stand rename.
  3. Very common Andy, although with sublimation technology other details can be easily added like hooped sleeves, or a ‘ghosted’ badge etc. You basically tell them what you require and they will confirm either way whether it’s possible. We normally select a shirt design and Macron will have to sublimate the band/hoop anyway. It’s what makes our shirt stand out from all the rest. It just so happened that the Brugge template already existed with the double band and perhaps my quick mock up posted on here and twitter may or may not have swayed the powers that be to choose it. Either way it’s a classic look that has been adopted by Roma and other sides throughout the years. Good design never goes out of fashion.
  4. Design is subjective, whether it’s a piece of conceptual art or a simple sports shirt. I loved the Brugge shirt when it was released a few years ago and that’s why I thought it would be a good fit for us when converted to claret and amber. Happily the powers at be have came to the same conclusion. If I had to nitpick I would have loved them to have pushed the design even further by reintroducing the classic 50s/60s C&A hooped sleeve on a modern white shirt. As such they have played safe with a tried and tested chest band design, although, to be fair it still looks pretty smart. I’m not a fan of the home top, although, on this occasion I think it will look better with a sponsor (white graphic please). I wonder who our sponsor will be as that will make or break the design. Any clues as to who it will be?
  5. Your learning! The away is a direct copy of a Macron Club Brugge kit that I converted to C&A in early 2018 which I posted on here and on Twitter. It’s a nice kit and a far better collar than the home.
  6. I agree on the hoop. If a club the size of Sampdoria can still retain theirs Motherwell should be able to have one as well. Without it, it could be said to be nothing more than a advertising band.
  7. Or alternatively not bother with the pinstripes.
  8. Nothing beats a white away kit with flashes of claret and amber. I’ve mocked up many ‘floodlight tops’ over the years and the classic C&A hoop/band is one of my favourites.
  9. I mocked this up more than a year ago. Pretty close to the new release.
  10. If I was a ‘betting man’ I would say no.
  11. Away is a homage to our late 50s early 60s Umbro ‘floodlight kit’
  12. At least I finally got my favourite away design.
  13. The away kit is outstanding, however, I’m not keen on the pinstripes on the home.
  14. Macron don’t do good collars due to their ongoing mission to reinvent the wheel. And yes I also no longer buy tops as well, especially ones with naff sponsors.
  15. Right forget all this Turnbull nonsense, where’s the new kits?
  16. Money can do strange things to your brain and bank balance.
  17. As far as I’m aware nothing, and that’s why on a previous post I said “Where’s Dortmund when you need them?”
  18. Andy Robertson and Paul Lambert have the answer on how to make it at the top level in Europe. He could do worse than have a word with them before coming to a decision. Hull City was the best move Andy ever made as it gave him a platform to show Liverpool what he was all about. Dortmund was the best move that Lambert ever made and his European Cup medal is proof of that.
  19. Maybe they could have phrased it differently by saying... “We have received an improved offer from Glasgow Celtic and the board are meeting to discuss it.” Phrasing it like that would still have alerted other potential suitors without the need to say... “We have agreed a fee with Celtic...”
  20. It may also put other suitors off as the club statement said “We have agreed a fee with Celtic for the potential sale of David Turnbull”. Reading between the lines that may suggest to other suitors that David prefers to stay in Scotland. Who knows, I’m sure all will become clear either today or tomorrow. Obviously I would rather he went down south or abroad.
  21. Would we have been better to say nothing until it had all been finalised or was this announcement the correct approach? I’m not sure either way.
  22. I remember it well, I also remember my favourite player Dixie Deans going to Celtic (there they are again). Yip, some things never change.
