I lost my father and football buddy shortly after I turned 16. The years after that were the toughest that I have ever been through. I can’t begin to imagine what his kids went through in the days/months after his tragic death. Heartbreaking.

I doubt it will be anything too crazy as it was designed by a kid in a competition run by the club. So unless we have a young David Shrigley in our support I am expecting the obvious Steelman (complete with hard hat/new kit) or perhaps a fir tree.

As I said I like both kits, although, it wouldn’t be a kit launch without me having a tiny nitpick about the badge. I am not sure what the reason is for the extra bold claret stitching around the outside edge? It doesn’t really need it as in my opinion our badge is fine just the way it is. That aside, it’s a massive improvement on the one on last seasons home top.

In other news, Ryan confirmed on Twitter that our new mascot will be in place for the new season.

We normally like to switch between a claret hoop and a band. As a traditionalist I much prefer the hoop, however, apart from the depth of the band it does the job.

I’m liking both home and away kits. However, the only slight niggle perhaps the claret band on the home top could have been a fraction wider to accommodate the sponsors logo. Apart from that the jobs a good one. Well done to all concerned. Will there be a sponsor free version?

I’ve not heard anything lately, however, I assume the bears have definitely been dumped. So when’s the new mascot being revealed?

If it’s not been relaid, what has been done to it? I’m guessing reseeding, although, I’m only an expert at growing weeds and know sweet FA about football pitches.

I just remembered that this Roma white away top had a sleeve hoop. Their kits are always so stylish.

It was similar, although I suspect we are too small a concern to get C&A training gear these days. Surprisingly bespoke training wear was all the rage in the 70s/80s. These days not so much for the smaller clubs like us.

The new Stoke City Macron Anthem jackets would look smart in C&A. However, I suspect we will be provided with the standard black with a stitched on club badge. The Stoke one also comes in white with red flashes.

I don’t think it matters, as even when we get favourable draws we still fail miserably. Albion Rovers anyone?

And we wouldn’t need to release strips to remind us of our failure since then.

A top six finish would be nice. I’ve already dismissed the cups as we sadly don’t appear to do them anymore.

A player can’t be held responsible for what a relative posts on social media. As long as they conduct themselves in the proper manner whilst employed by our club you can’t ask for anything more.

I hope the club will still offer the fans the opportunity to buy sponsor free replicas. To me this was a positive move, however, i suspect this won’t happen this time around.
