I suspect we have reverted back to the days of Bertie with every Tom, Dick and Harry being offered a cap. These days being capped for Scotland means nothing as the majority of our current squad are average at best.

Dundee United have a slender 2-1 lead over Morton in the first championship play off match. I suspect they will hold on to that lead and it will be between them and Falkirk for the premiership play-off spot. If we do finish second bottom, I’m not sure which of the two I would rather meet as there is very little to choose between them. Hopefully that won’t come to pass and we will be sitting safe in 10th spot.

I’m not overly confident of a victory, although at least the team we are playing are also lacking in confidence. Our away form has been marginally better so hopefully that will go some way to ensuring that we can take all 3 points. Also, if Killie can do us a favour by thrashing Inverness that would be much appreciated. Three points for Ross County would also bring Dundee back into the mix, however, maybe that’s too much to ask.

Yes I’m afraid we are stuck with Robinson for the time being. If relegated, it will be interesting to see how he performs in the championship with a group of mainly youngsters.

Pretty much this. Out with Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs there is nothing between the other similar sized clubs in the home support they can potentially attract. Of course this can vary depending on the importance of the game.

I suspect it’s just a matter of time before we get relegated. It could be this season, or the next but it’s on the horizon. Hibernian and Dundee United probably thought they were too good to go down, however, look what happened to them. We rode our luck through previous non ‘relegations’, but I suspect the lower leagues will be calling our name sooner rather than later. Maybe it’s for the best as it will give us an opportunity to rebuild for the future. It worked in the early 80s and I don’t see why it can’t again. Our days of finishing second or third are a distant memory and the prospect of relegation this season just got real.

The post split fixtures couldn’t have been any kinder to us and so far we are ‘Hibsing’ it.

We look spent. I’ve witnessed a few relegations in my 50+ years watching the Well and this season has a very familiar feel to it. I’m afraid our current side seem to lack the fight to stay in this league. We now have three cup finals to turn ‘Dismayed in Motherwell’ back into ‘Made in Motherwell’.

Direct relegation is a distinct possibility as this team lack fight.
