While you keep ignoring Well4Europes well laid out thoughts on the matter.

Quite feel sorry for Coventry with that imposter as a manager. Happily take Jenning's back though if they want to release him. Not first priority though given we have Lawson, Lasley and Carswell.
-
Don't assume Hearts players won't be trying a leg. If anything I expect they'll be busting a gut to surive. Dundee certainly did a few seasons back. We're gonna add new faces sooner or later and we'll be ok I expect, hopefully even chase europe again but I'd would happily wager we will be the team that takes the biggest hit in terms of loss of talent this summer by a good margin. If we get close to Europe or a trophy next season I declare McCall to be the best manager we've had in 30 plus years and maybe more!

Sure Sutton can do a solid job again. If we can find a bit of pace and creativity now to supplement him we'll ne in decent shape before to long.
-
They also get masses of TV money and 70,000 fans turning up. If we could get a decent TV deal then I'd rather we reduced gates than spunked the money on ever increasing wages but seems like a fairy story the chances of that ever happening.

£15 for relatively big name opposition is fine. £5 for kids is pretty decent also. No other concessions seems odd and a little disappointing. Provided Newcastle come with more or less a full squad it is fairly reasonable. £10 would be better but I daresay pricing it like that wouldn't suddenly see us get thousands more through the gate. One of the best teams in my lifetime we had last season and crowds just wouldn't come. To costly in economically tough times perhaps. But we couldn't get 10,000 to a CL qualifier, scraped 6,000 for Europa qualifer. Outside of Celtic games we got more than 5000 on 4 occasions. So if Newcastle fans are renowned for travelling in numbers it no wonder we're looking to exploit it and £15 still likely to be the cheapest entry of the year barring a special offer. Inflation is a fact of life, everything gets more expensive. Really pish part is most of us right now aren't getting paid any more and this is an issue that goes well outside the realm of football.

McManus was overly maligned, bit of a thug at times and not exactly silky skill wise but pretty solis central defender who again with the usual proviso of so long as he essentially fit and not completely rusty he'd be a quality addition. More likely to land somewhere they can pay him more than we can however as he is only 30, has international caps, champions league experience etc.

Transfer window being shut hasn't stopped other teams sorting out signings. If this was an average close season where we were replacing one or two then I wouldn't be concerned but we are close to rebuilding a full team. We have made a start at least but I'd like to see Higdon and McFadden or there replacements signed in time for the start of pre season so we got players bedded in and we can approach the european games and start of the season with some confidence. If we then add one or two later on to fill out the squad fine but I think we all want to see at least a first XI in place sooner rather than later.

14 goals in each of his last two seasons with us and a good few assists. That Clarkson anyone would be off their head not to want back. Whether he still at that level or able to get back to it is another matter. At 27 though he should be in his prime and have years left. Well worth a punt if fit and available.

Faddy would be good. No early edition out yet? I hate this close season btw, 2 signings would be enough of a fix to calm me down I reckon.
-
A day to early for me regards getting back from holiday. Shame as would have been a decent game to get to as far as pre season ones go.
-
Of the ones I've watched Rab McKinnon ahead of Tom Boyd for me. Hammell been a good solid servant but never really built on what looked like fantastic potential as a young player.
-
Probably are though. I expect off the radar signings. Hopefully soon as this is a horrible close season and it hardly started.
-
Almost certainly would have, but just applying the pressure to do so would have been good. Can't complain about this season but a transfer window like this is custom designed to make you think about what might have been even more than usual.
-
That is pretty jammin for a modern wee stadium. Far to pessimistic to think we'd ever get something like that though.
-
For once absolutely agree. About the only signing that will make up for Humphrey leaving(assuming we don't luck out and find another jet heeled winger from somewhere) is if McFadden signs on. Might not have the pace but I can see him being even better for us playing down the right. A lot less one footed these days and seeing him cutting in onto that left foot will scare the shite out of many a defence as much as Humphrey on a ramapage. Humphrey going makes holding on Ojamma more important, only so many new faces we want to be accomodating at one time. Already looking like most of our out of contract players are moving on.
-
That he was vital component of our team good for about 15 goals. Turned out he near doubled it but would still have been disappointed if he left even then. We'll replace him though I doubt we'll get a 25 goal striker in his place but you never know.
-
Good luck to Stevie. Hope he get's a game and Scotland avoid getting pumped. Can't see him breaking into the first choice XI at this relatively late stage of his career but he can only put in a good performance and see. It isn't like we have a single true stand out left back in any case but hope he enjoys what is likely to be something of a one off.

Why you so sure Clarkson wouldn't come back Melvin? Also anyone who didn't think in his last two seasons with us Clarkson wasn't playing at a level of around very good to borderline brilliant needs their head examined. He was scoring goals, creating goals and putting in his usual exceptional level of effort. I don't recall a huge amount of hype about what he would do in the Championship but just because it didn't work out great doesn't mean he is pish. I would take him back in a heartbeat if he was fit. Still rather we signed Faddy first mind you!

Was this after you 'verbally abused his girlfriend and family' at Killie was it?

Who can say where Nicky Law could have played. It is extremely presumptions to say mid level championship is his level. Sure that is the sort of team I'd expect to be interested in him now. But I can think of many players people thought were of a certain level that have done better than expected. Off the top of my head Wes Hoolahan has had plenty games for Norwich. Even Stephen Dobbie got a few games in the premier league down south, didn't take it but he got his chance. Nicky Law could have combination of same luck and development as a player. He is an idiot for letting his career rot in lower leagues regardless of the money.

Surprised Kerr been offered a deal as well, seemed pretty much out in the cold until Sunday. As a young player I wouldn't want to write him off on the relatively little we saw this season but he doesn't inspire confidence.
-
Saunders release was official a couple of weeks or so back Joe.
-
A good decision on the face of it. Everton have no manager and an established first choice keeper.
-
I'm sure McCall is up for the challenge of rebuilding but if other offers come his way that offer him what he sees as a chance to progress his career and make more money he is going to consider them. Provided things get done in a timely fashion I won't be to worried, but in a couple of weeks time I hope to be pretty certain of who our manager will be for next season so we can get a team ready for early european games and a testing SPL campaign to follow.
