  1. He should dye his hair, grow a beard(or shave off one if he already has one) and get a ticket and go, fuck the ban for something a petty as that.
  2. Don't think that is quite the case. Doesn't help much either though. Better now than in a few weeks though, or a few weeks back before he signed a new contract.

    Humphrey by a mile!
  4. Just me wishing Inverness could have won so we could seal it ourselves tomorrow? Still rather pleased though I hope the team signs off last home game with a good performance. This is going to be the longest close season ever I reckon.
  5. Speaking of blundering liabilities I hope not.
  6. Don't mind the black strip, although I can see where the training top comments come from. What size did they give Keith Lasley to model it in though!
  7. Could not be more true, we would be spawny as hell finding someone as good as Randolph again. If he can be a decent shot stopper, not drop much in way of clangers and not flap at crosses that'll tick enough boxes to be a decent keeper who might earn us a few points if not as many as Randolph did. Hopefully he is coming into his prime. I've not got him on my radar as a blundering liability, so hoping he is at least a steady replacement.
  8. How is it different from changing the share of 2nd, 3rd etc?
  9. True but it might be marginally more relavent this time given the amount of new faces we might need. I still expect us to sign guys we haven't heard of in the main though.
  10. Well should be but I don't think he has notably affected the number of bums on seats. Managed to get bums off seats a few times with some quality football and for that reason I'd still stick by my original choice there.
  11. Wasn't that bad imo though he's had better. Again only doubt bigger clubs I think will have over him is his overall fitness. That is looking decent and he's getting a good run of games. I agree he doesn't fit their general signing policy and I do hope they stick to that, but he should be a no brainer for them. A player way better than the SPL that is available for free and got a good couple of seasons at least in him. No great future profit but no great cost either. Hope they daft enough to look elsewhere.
  12. McFadden edging out Randolph if only because I believe we have slightly greater chance of actually keeping him. I believe we have a slim chance that borders on non existent but none for keeping Randolph. Randolph is approaching his prime and EPL clubs should be looking at him. Faddy whilst still clearly got I don't think has the same pull for the kind of clubs down south his talent probably merits. Choking to keep Higdon and Law also to be honest, the former I think we might keep but again the latter I consider as good as gone. Only thing that makes me think Higdon might leave for a better offer is it's all well and good loving his time here but if Randolph, Law, McFadden, Humphrey all go then the team could be notably weaker and he isn't going to get the same service. Before you know it he'll be getting pelters again if not banging them in and maybe an extra 500 quid or a grand a week suddenly seems worth the risk of pastures new.
  13. Heard McCall on the radio suggesting he was away. Wasn't clear if we've not offered him anything or he has chosen to go. He was talking about how he needs to be somewhere getting games. I'm guessing we've decided to let him go. Bit of a shame, a bit rough around the edges but looked promising prior to his injury woes. Hope can stay fit and bounce back. Thought he might have had a shout at stepping into Hately's spot if he moves on.
  14. We didn't have a team/squad good enough. If we had kept Jennings and Clancy I reckon there are some early season points dropped we might not have lost otherwise and with Celtic distracted by Europe we might have mounted a 'challenge' but all ifs and buts and on the whole we've had a fantastic season regardless.
  15. Not strickly speaking like for like but if asked to choose I reckon the best 11 from these two team would include the players in bold. Sorry Fraz but Woods was at best mediocre with added calamity. He was like Graeme Smith post Well career all the time! Biggest dilemmas in the choices were Coyne/Higdon and maybe McCart and Hutchison. Reckon McCart maybe wasn't quite at his best at time quoted but would otherwise have given Hutchinson serious competition. Prefer Lasleys extra steel to Billy Davies and Humphrey also unlucky to miss out. Woods Randolph Shannon Hateley McKinnon Hammell Martin Hutchinson McCart Ramsden Philliben Law Lambert Lasley Davies Humphrey Dolan McFadden Arnott Ojamma Coyne Higdon
  16. Higdon scored something like 15 and 16 goals in previous two campaigns, the fact he has blown that out of the water this term is phenominal. He might not be the most mobile but he is up there with the best we've had in the modern era. There is a hint of Tommy Coyne like finess about him although he isn't quite that good. Another 3 seaons of goals like Friday nights might have me change my mind.
  17. Everyone at the club now will leave at some point, some sooner some later. It isn't worth worrying over. I am happier people I want to stay sign contracts certainly but as pointed out it just means better compensation if they suddenly go and well hopefully it gets reinvested fruitfully. Despite the downside of administration I reckon my whole life time following Motherwell has been about as good as can be expected supporting a wee provincial team. From first game I saw us a 3-0 win over Accies with Kirk scoring twice I think in 1986 despite a few relegation scraps and the misery of Malpas we have had plenty of good teams. Watched real class players from Bobby Russell and Davie Cooper, Tommy Coyne and Paul Lambert to James McFadden and Nicky Law. So yeah things will fall away from how good they are just now and hopefully they'll bounce back in due course. Enjoy it whilst the football is good and have a good old moan and rant when it's pish but in short dinnae stress about it!
  18. If we can get out the blocks fast this is a game there for the taking. They'll want to bounce back after that cup loss but surely have to be a little physically and mentally drained by the 120 minutes of effort put in. If we can get on top early and not go behind I'd hope we could get the result. Which would have the bonus of making Celtic need to get something against ICT, big weekend ahead!
  19. Phil O'Donnell got pelters going to Celtic, shortly before one of the biggest games in the clubs history. Fans got over it. Would be same with Faddy unless he went ott. He turned up at the dementia cafe last week, generally seems a class guy who if he went wouldn't do anthing to unnecessarily sully his reputation. No one would like it but would be understandable.

Why this isn't at 100% I'll never know, Faddy was majestic!
  21. Different definition of coming over perhaps?
  22. Would guess Skippy Sunday was last actual sell out, I see it down as 12,944 attended. If not that then then I'd guess at the last OF game before the capacity was reduced from approx 18,500. Although I reckon there was 13,000 in for that Dundee Utd cup replay in 1994 although I think it was officially around 11500.
  23. Pretty much agree with this. Will I chuck it I dunno but it is certainly another nail in the coffin.

Law or Faddy. Went with Faddy as I think he provided us with something we were missing. For the wee moment he ran back to tell Randolph to pick him out and he owned Matthews in the air no less, to flick it on and start the ball rolling for the opener it changed the game for us. He was also reasonably classy all match himself. Law also superb though.
  25. I written this game off, clearly hoping to be proven wrong and that the players go out and burst their arses off to do so but I think we've gambled on McFadden a little and we need to do everything we can to get a return and this means getting him on the park. Might argue it is a bit soon but sooner or later he needs to be starting games and this seems as good a game as any in quest for him to find some match fitness. Hoping to see a line up along the lines of(assuming everyone available) Randolph Hately Hutchison Ramsden Hammell Humphrey Lasley Carswell Law McFadden Higdon Looking to Faddy get in between their midfield and back four and cause some havoc. If it congested in there then he can hopefully pick out Humphrey and Law bombing forward to support with Lasley and Carswell protecting the back four. If we under a bit of presusre hopefully any longish balls forward are into Hidons chech and feet to provide the focal point for everyone else to feed off from. Give Faddy a good 60 minutes ideally and if he is a bit anonymous well least he gets some time under belt and fairly confident it'll benefit him and us in the next few weeks more than another wee sub run out. Could put Ojamma out wide and Law in centre, but suspect we'll need more dig and Ojamma should be a decent option off the bench.
