Personally, I thought the re-work of this was genius - "We don't want you Nicky, We've got Joshy Lawww" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arUqoKjU3D4

Very probably. His contract is up in the summer, another player to boost on the free...

Not to get ahead of ourselves and apologies if it has already been posted in here, but I'm sure the Q3 draw is this Friday in between ties? If not feel free to correct me. Anyway, is there a list of teams we can face IF we beat Stjarnan?

I'm only going if Decorator is going. That'll be +1.

My god Motherwell fans depress me. An attempt by the folks doing all they can to make this game a spectacle and a different experience to your run of the mill mundane SPFL fixture, and instead of a positive reaction folk are questioning the bloody name of it. One poster above correctly highlights the origins of the word "coreto" and the Italian background, however in World football it is no longer exclusively Italian. In fact most if not all 'processions' across the continent are referred to as a corteo. Excuse the attempt to bring something that bit different. 'The Motherwell Walk', fantastic.

Harats, Russia wasn't so bad?
-
YES, no, NO, YES, yes... YAAAAAAASSSS! Pandemonium.

Does anyone have any idea of the calibre / locations that also enter at Q1 & 2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there a high probability we could end up in the back of beyond again?

Krasnodar Away. After waking on the morning of the game in a Russian family's house following a pretty wild Wednesday night, 3 shots of vodka for breakfast (as is apparently customary for ridding of hangovers in Russia) set the tone for match day. There's a fine photo of 6am Friday morning following a post match Russian flat rave, but I'll keep that one quiet.

Folks, just a quick post to close the door on the stolen flags in Krasnodar. Would like to offer a huge thanks to those responsible for the safe return of the final stolen flag, I know the efforts these guys went to and the cost of sending a parcel that size from Russia to bonnie Scotland so credit to you all. It's simply a difference in fan culture from these shores and as such the guys had no obligation to go to the lengths of finding who had it and where it was, let alone go to personal expense of sending it back - i'll see to the final leg of the journey in making its way back to bigbuff. Cheers!

Excellent post.

Try 10, Seville calculator. I'd hazard a guess that there will be many more broken across the stand in temper to a result that is one of the lowest points in Motherwell FC's history. Not condoning those that did break a flimsy plastic chair, but it's far from our worries at this point. I've never seen such an abject, lethargic Motherwell team and what is much more painful to take is that this is a derby. Fair enough it's not Accies or Airdrie but for these players failing to be motivated in front of a 3,000+ away crowd that was considerably noisy, is very concerning indeed. Furthermore this is the only competition left to play for and a match I'd expect a professional performance from. Those calling for a weeks wages refunded to the club may seem extreme but are far from unrealistic. These players will walk away with well over 30k combined, much less than this tie could cost the club in the long run.

Bang on the money. Here's hoping it's even half as busy as Kuban!

"Well Boys" don't exist. Nice sentiment right enough and I would welcome a move to the other end on a trial basis for a couple of games to see if it is really possible to get 'Well fans off their arses.
-
Anywhere other than their place is rotten in my opinion. It's the romance of the cup if you like, that this round involves terrible lower league stadia and ticket scrambles. Only in Scotland could you see a derby moved outside its area. Then they wonder why the game here gets ridiculed! Ticket scramble for Cliftonhill for me.

Nonsense, if you look at that video it's posted in 2012, by Gretna 2009, assuming that's when they were reformed. It's one of the best tunes in the UK outwith the Old Firm and obviously has no meaningful connection to either, so it makes singing it not so bad to other supports. Also the stagnation in England's lower league supports means that when they see all the videos of 'Well fans enjoying themselves, they too see fit to copy it. Despite the actual melody if you will being borrowed from overseas, Ajax I'm sure, we can be proud that the words, the phrase and the meaning was coined by 'Well fans. Immitation the sincerest form of flattery and all that....

This. I for one see this as a very welcome and long overdue review of a ruling that is not only outdated but draconian towards football supporters, given many other sports and events can already enjoy the right to have a beer should they so wish. There has been no serious disorder at Scottish football matches for many years now, we ourselves even witness police free matches. In my opinion the right to a beer before and at half time is not going to drastically alter the behaviour of crowds but it will bring in additional revenue and enhance the product sold to many fans therefore should be encouraged. I would however echo the sentiment that safe standing should be explored beforehand. We can implement it in Scotland as there is no specific law against it and it looks like Celtic will be first to do so, but the obvious deterrent for a club like ours is as always, the cost.

Great draw and with sensible ticket pricing we could take a fair sized support through to this one.

Second Round ties are played tonight and one tie tomorrow. I am sure I read that the draw for the third round when we enter is this Friday? Anyone able to back this up? In any case here's hoping this year we have a much needed improvement in the cup competitions. Tonight Stranraer v Ross County Aberdeen v Alloa Airdrieonians v Livingston Dundee v Forfar Falkirk v Dunfermline Kilmarnock v Hamilton Morton v Montrose Partick Thistle v Cowdenbeath Queen of Sth v St Mirren Raith Rovers v Hearts Tomorrow Dumbarton v Dundee United Winner of the Airdrie v Livi tie would do me nicely...

I'd assume it's a three game ban for Boyd given he was sent off for violent conduct? Good news for us if so as he's one of those players you can count on to score against us. Very tight match this one, a draw the most likely outcome but I'd like to see us graft out another win similar to Partick. Going for 2-1.

McManus and Hammell were most certainly feeling the strain of the trip to Russia on Sunday as both players performances reflected it. Having now cost our last 4 goals, I'd like to see McManus have a big performance this Sunday to see him back on track having looked particularly solid against Krasnodar home and Hibs respectively. I would also say it's time for Sutton to do ANYTHING, or Bob and co. should be screaming the place down to start over him. Anier has really hit the ground running so will surely retain his place. I think this season is definitely going to bring the well known air of uncertainty back to Motherwell following our consistent performances over the last while, so predicting Saturday's result is nigh on impossible.

Is anyone on here the owner of the one flag still missing that was pinched? Been contacted by a Kuban lad who can return it! Fantastic hospitality over in Russia, so much more than I could have expected. Pie puts it excellently here and I would echo the thanks of all involved on this trip. That vodka though....

This was also our issue, we leave tonight as well.
