Jamie- back to his best and so close to a hat trick. Very unselfish when he put it on a plate for young Lawless who saw the keeper make an unbelievaable save. Well done Jamie.
  2. Can someone please explain why Tom Hately is being played in midfield recently? I know he had a 'mare against Hearts but he has never shown any form as a midfielder and was woeful again today. I hope SMcC learned today as we were constantly caught in posession and never looked happy at the back. Big Randy saved us from some embarassment with a couple of great saves and if their shooting had been better we could have struggled. On the plus side it was good to see Jaimie get another 2 goals and to see him taking on and beating players again. It was a satisfying result in a no win game that we have stumbled at before. So onwards and upwards for the 'Well.

    Tannoys

St J had no tannoy today after the teams were announced. How good is that?

    St Johnstone

Could have voted for them all today. Great team performance. Voted for Jenno. He is the heart beat of this team. he seems to be everywhere- breaking down opposition moves, creating chances, getting on the end of moves and prompting all the time.
  5. Haven't posted for a while on here. mainly down to the big negs I have to read about our players. I have to say that today proved why we are the best of the rest ( I mean the real teams in the SPL). All our players playing for the jersey. Everyone responding to encouragement from the terracing. Atmosphere and even comedy from the terracing ( PEEEEETER- Baldy). A really good day out for every fan and a result to be proud of. I aint no happy clappy but this team are deserving of praise from every supporter. If we could take this positive support to The Arc every home game I think we would be unstoppable. This was a real team performance. Brilliantly conceived by Stuart McCall and superbly executed by the team. We are on a journey and I hope that every fan, including MJC, can try to have a positive head on next Saturday so we can show St Midden how the game should be played. Onwards and upwards. Mon the 'Well.
  6. Know what? Neither Humphrey nor Daley nor both is working at home. Teams have sussed this tactic and we need some creativity to match our posession and bring the goals we need to win at home. Hughes may be the man to provide that and allow the rest of the midfield the time to create- I hope so. It would also help if SM instilled a shoot on sight philosophy in the midfield and the full backs. Our best goals this season have come from them. Just a thought.

Add to that the best passing move of the game ending with a rasping shot and great save and it was one of the best all round midfield displays we have seen at Fir park for some time. Big pass marks to Clancy and Higdon for solid performances and a special mention to Nicky Law for the class he brings. Only thing missing is goals and they would have been there if we had a predator centre forward on the end of the 3 or 4 flashing low crosses we put in today.
  8. Just watched that clown of a ref on Alba getting the two corner decisions wrong. What a fanny he is. I hope we don't see him at FP again. Totally rank and opinionated with it. Still could'nt spoil the sight of Judas Brown losing it with JB. Hope the polis slam him in the jail for affray and for being stupid enough to think he was going to a 'bigger, better team'
  9. That wee cnut Broon on Sportscene. They havin a laff!

    John Sutton

Aye right. Scoring against Dundee and Stranraer makes him a hero? Get real. He is too slow to cut it in the SPL and even missed 3 good chances yesterday. I have nothing against the big man but you lot are talking sh1te. Why do you think the last 4 managers have not relied on him as a striker? Cause he isnae!
  11. The real equation is value for money for the fan. This can vary according to disposable income but the present formula is not attractive to many and the club need to think hard about any initiative that will restore the fans perception that they are getting a good deal. We know from our successes recently that there are loads of potential 'Well fans out there prepared to pay for glamour games. Finding the right price to attract them more often is the way forward. I won't hold my breath.
  12. Would you guys get a grip? Your taking the advice of a joke poster on here who has already contradicted himself and admitted he watched a game through a fence and may not even have identified the players properly as I can't imagine they had their names on their shirts. I smell shite!

    Scottish Fitba

Actually cheered when I heard him tonight. He will get into trouble no doubt but as an ex Ranger he still stuck it to the 'OLD Firm'. Looks like his chairman gave in though!
  14. Yes RD I too was weaned on 'Well, lifted over the gate and sat up on the barriers or the wall by my dad to watch that team. When I read all the moaning posts on here recently I smile a little at the thought of those young guys setting up against the best of Scottish football and proving that they could hold their own. Don't know if it would work nowadays buut it looks as though we may be about to find out! Anyway I will be there to watch and support the mighty 'Well whatever team we are able to field.
  15. Anyone remeber them? Judging by our present and predicted losses of personnel we may be heading for a mark2 version featuring last year's under 19's with daddy Craigan in charge! Mind you if they are half as good as that team we could be in for a treat!
  16. After all his contributions over the years I think he deserves a thread of his own, especially since he extended his contract and got us a few bob on his departure to help for the future. Thanks for everything and good luck with your career.
  17. Today proved that the'Well go on without these three and Marky reynolds so time to wave bye bye to this thread please.
  18. One injury and one suspensionand we will need to make sure our pitch is unplayable for a few weeks, just like the Arabs and Accies did a few weeks back. Oh no, that's right you get fined for that, don't you. Seriously though we are in dire straits for the third season running and cannot hope to progress with this Manager merry-go-round we have created. The silence from the Boardroom is deafening and judging from JB's rant on another thread , he is sick of the situation in our SPL and the losses we are having to sustain. If loan deals are the only answer then how do we reward our own players and encourage them to stay at Fir Park? I think we are struggling for eleven first team players, never mind subs. Tough times!
  19. Should we rename this thread 'OUTS'? Every recent manager has highlighted the small pool of players and we now have 4 less to choose from. assuming McCall originally wanted to ADD 2 could someone explain where we will get 6 new quality players in the next 2 weeks for the limited money we have available? Is anyone else concerned that our Board are following the Liverpool model but withot their Plan B of Dalglish plus millions?
  20. Totally agree with the whole get TV tae f--- debate. In addition to running the finances they also dictate when teams will play so we end up being asked to attend every night of the week throughout a season. Back when you knew every second Saturday was a home game you also knew your season ticket would be used- now these bassas can have a game changed to suit them and not you. NO FAIR. Agents know how much your team might get from TV money and then try to get it for their client so your team gets nothing. NO FAIR. Advertisers know how many games you will get and only book track adverts for those games. Bigot Brothers fans know they don,t need to come to away games which are televised so we lose income. NO FAIR. Doncaster is only the latest in a long line of hiearchy in Scottish Football who only sees the pound sign as relevant and only recognises the easy way to achieve more pounds at the expense of the game. We are only buying mediocrity at or highest level, so why bother?
  21. There's another way of putting that- mob rule.
  22. You try standing at New Douglas Park next week then and see what happens. I'm not saying we shouldn't be allowed to stand, but why is it one rule for them and one for us. Surely people seeing that on telly might try to get us fined for not enforcing SPL rules? Aw sorry. I forgot it was the Bigot Brothers in town.
  23. And as usual they got to stand for the entire game in the South. Oh my!
  24. cANNAE WAIT FOR THIS! Fitba' returns tae Fir Park. BTW is the Cooper open before the match today?
  25. Och, Peter! Did ye hufftae? That's me sweating noo.
