Contract only to end of season has implications . Does he concentrate on results only, to extend his contract. Why would he bother tying up out of contract young players or improve things as he sees fit for next season if he’s not secure in the position or maybe thinking I could be wasting my time if it’s not extended. Then again if I do well here I could get a better gig in closed season somewhere else . We could be left managerless with another manager-go-round again once season is finished, with time running out to prepare for a new season. Short term contract is a non starter.
