The last thing we need is another guarenteed round of fixtures against the same old SPL teams. We play them too often just now as it is.
-
There was a bit in the paper with James Grady the other day saying that that's the situation Morton and Celtic have left themselves in as they have decided to play on Tuesday. Don't see it happening myself though.

I would hate to see Jeffries here, but I really don't think we have to worry about him. With his last 2 appointments Boyle has shown he has been looking for a younger manager, with a good reputation, who wants to develop a philosophy of good attacking, passing football at the club. He seems to be looking for them to also place an emphasis towards giving the youth players their chance in the first team a bit earlier than other teams/managers might do. For me Jeffries doesn't suit either of these categories, and with just about all of his old Hearts team retired he's running out of options for signings to make.

What's the dates for the 5th round? If the tie hasn't been played by then, that's the only chance you've got of this being rescheduled for a weekend. Doubt it'll drag on that long though.
-
If he goes, then hopefully Slane will be as well.
-
Unless he out of contract at St Mirren after this season he'll not be at Killie either. They don't have the money to pay the compo required. They've sacked the club doctor and are sending injured players to their own GP's FFS. Although I agree Jeffries wont be there much longer either.

A few I remember from Strachan when he was still at Southampton. First one Ithink was when he appeared on MOTD. Gary Linekar "James Beattie has been in great form all season for you Gordon. Is it about time he was caleld up to the England team?" Strachan "I couldn't care less, I'm Scottish. Another was when a reporter mentioned Beatie, again. Reporter "Another cracking performance from James Beattie again today, and another goal. He's really bang on form at the moment. Strachan "I've said before how important Beattie has been for us and I've nothing more to add to it. However, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Mr and Mrs Beattie for that wonderful thing they did on that night 26 years ago"

The 3 games is just the minimum they will be here. John Boyle is away to Australia for 2 or 3 weeks and the 3 games will have been played before he gets back. Then I'd imagine they will get another few games at least while the board goes through the whole process, though like a few have said already I'd be surprised if they weren't given until the end of the season. That would give the board a load more time, probably more options and would let Brown and Knox show that they should be considered.

I saw a mention of the Ruddy deal today, however it was in the Daily Record and it was by Hugh Keevins so take from it what you will. Basically it said that relations between 'Well and Everton had been very good since the Faddy deal. Boyle has been working on the Ruddy deal for a while and, despite what has since happened, was still coming along well.

Was just about to post the same thing. Would be worth sounding out I think.

Dundee United, Hibs, Hearts, Inverness fans might not agree with you. I'm sure there are more but I can't really be fucked looking into it, your starting to bore me now.
-
Go and give that gypo Coakley a shout then and see if he's still interested.
-
That'll save me typing another response up. Managers walking out on us is not Boyle's fault and there is pretty much fuck all we can do about it.
-
Aye but the point is they all got at least 2 seasons at it which is what you are asking for. Whether they moved onto bigger and better things doesn't really come into it, although 2 of them would say that they did.
-
No. Really, he actually does this time.
-
Boyle didn't sack Black though, he quit so can't really blame Boyle for that. We are never going to be able to keep good, ambitious managers for more than a year or 2 because if they are doing their job well we wont be able to hold onto them for long. That's not Boyle's fault either. All he can do in that circumstance is scam them for every penny they have, as he did to Aberdeen with McGhee.
-
Considering the money is coming out his own fucking pockets I don't see the problem there. Having seen Ruddy play the first half of the season I think Boyle has spotted along with the rest of us that he'd be guarenteed his money back plus profit in a year or 2.
-
The second biggest flaw in your agrument is that all of them were in charge for at least 2 seasons except Kampman-who Boyle didn't appoint and Malpas-no explanation needed. So if your asking for him to give the manager 2 years to get things done, he's been doing that all ready. If you asked Butcher at the time I'm sure he would have thought he was moving onto bigger and better things, plus his time was coming to a natural end anyway, and McGhee thought the same thing in the summer. Infact the team Butcher took over were Austrailian Champions and had got to final of their version of the Champions League had they not(not sure if they won that), so I'd say that probably is bigger and better things.
-
Whats going on now? I was out the house for an hour for God sake. Quite happy Brown is involved, but Archie Knox??? FFS jobs for the boys right enough.
-
I didn't say anyone was lined up for when Davies left. This second bit is the biggest flaw in your argument about having stability. Unless they turn out to be another Malpas it's not about us sticking by the manager, it's about the manager sticking with us. With teams at the arse end of the Championship and top few in League 1 throwing about daft money that's never going to happen.
-
Fuck, so he is. Never spotted that first time. Apologies. They don't fuck about, do they!
-
That's just the managers profile section, not the available managers list.
-
How would it? Davies was lined up when Kampman was sacked! Butcher was lined up for when Black left! And Malpas was lined up for when Butcher left! And Leitch was lined up for McGhee leaving but knocked it back.
