Don't really care. Just mentioned it seen as the subject had been brought up already.

Good news, perhaps will give everyone a bit of a lift for the rest of the season. Also good to hear that he is already speaking to players for mext season. I agree with you there Melvin. I have no doubts that Strachan will leave in the summer. My mate is a ST holder at Parkhead, and he and a few of the guys that sit next to him heard a month or so back that they had approached a Bosnian manager to take over.

Hoping I can make it down to this. Hopefully I'll know for sure tonight. If not I'll give some money to the cause anyway, although lack of a paypal account may b a problem.

I doubt you'll find many that will class Clarkson as a 'Super-Duper World Beater' but the one thing you get with Clarky is nothing less than 100% every week. You know when Clarky is playing you know he is going to run his arse into the ground every week for the cause, tracking back putting in tackles as well as trying to set up attacks. And even though things might not come off for him every week he doesn't stop trying. He never gives defenders a minutes peace and that 'nuisance factor' can be invaluble at times.

I think the main problem Hughes has faced this season, other than the reports of playing not totally fit, is that we have still not managed to properly replace O'Donnell. With both of them in the midfield last season was when Hughes and the team were at their best. He needs someone else in there with him with a 'good football brain' who is one step ahead and can help with Hughes to create some space and get things going. If we have the option I'd still keep him. With Hughes and someone else like that in the middle with Fitzpatrick/Lasely/Klimpl or AN Other battling away along side them, that could see us go some way towards another season like last years'.

Errr...Yes I do, but why have it in the name of the thread when he says that's not what he means. Why not call it 'Is McGhee Worth The Money' or something along those lines.
-
Why have it as the header of your topic then?
-
Have we not played Hamilton at home twice this season like?
-
Definitely agree that this result means that Hughes, Smith and Klimpl wont be back next season, but what makes everyone else so sure McGhee wont be here. Where will he go? If this season had been the same as last season I reckon he would have been a stick on for the Celtic job in the summer. Our performance this season has put paid to that, and I doubt there will be many teams battering down the door for him in the summer. EDIT: Though I would still like to see McGhee with us next year. I still think we could do a lot worse, and probably not much better.

Was Bob not amongst the subs today?
-
Might as well just open the gates and let people in. We still wouldn't get anything like a half decent crowd now.
-
At least 20 fuckin' minutes too late to start making changes, as per fucking usual. Buzz went walk abouts for that first goal, didn't do the defense any favours, though Reynolds should have dealt with it. Thank fuck I never paid a fiver for this today.

A similar story I've heard is that we have been watching Gary Harkins at Partick Thistle since last season. Another couple of other SPL teams have been looking out for him as well.

Does anyone happen to know any bars in Dublin who would be showing the game tomorrow? I know a few posters spend a fair bit or time travelling and working over there, just wonder if anyone has sussed out anywhere that shows our games.

Sky Sports News were saying earlier Clyde finally came to an agreement with the council and are OK to stay for now.

I kinda thought that myself. But I reckon it must be a hoop seen as our strips have had the band on them recently, so it can hardly be back.

Would possibly be a little out of our reach so I would doubt it's true though it would be a great signing if it is. If stories are to be believed Wenger was interested in him the year Derby were in the Premiership after being impressed with him when Arsenal beat them 6-0. . I doubt that one was true either. With him and O'Brien on either wing it would be the first time in years we will have had 2 real wingers in the side. It would hopefully also help get Sutton back to top form as it would suit his style of play more to play up with Clarkie and having 2 creative attacking wingers supplying them.
-
^ I'd agree with that. Last season I remember Calderwood moaning that he couldn't get the transfer funds or wage budget to be able to sign up Stevie Hammell when we signed him again.
-
Fixed. As well as that, we must be the only country who gets to watch other countrys national teams for free on national TV.

A wee bit about the big man today in the Sunday Mail. MAROS KLIMPL fears he'll never play for his country again after being give the runaround by Wales striker Craig Bellamy. The Slovakian suffered a nightmare in Trnava as Bellamy netted twice and forced an own goal during a 5-2 Euro Championship qualifying romp in September 2007. Despite a change of manager Motherwell stopper Klimpl has been snubbed by his country since. And he'll be a frustrated spectator as the Slovaks, who lead World Cup qualifying Group Three, take on two massive tests in the next fortnight. On Saturday they travel to Wembley for a glamour friendly against England. And four days later Klimpl will be at home in Scotland desperately trying to find internet footage of the qualifying crunch against bitter rivals the Czech Republic. Maros, who has 19 caps, said: "It would be great to play England but the Czech game is even bigger, a derby, and becomes more crucial because we're leading the group. "We have never beaten them since gaining independence so it will be a massive match. "But I don't know what my chances are of ever getting a recall because my last international was 18 months ago. It was against Wales and I didn't play well. "When you lose 5-2 and you are a defender it isn't great. It was only one bad game but at international level all it takes is one mistake. "There was a big reaction and they changed the manager so now Vladimir Weiss is in charge. I hope he comes to Scotland to look at me." Klimpl is focusing solely on Motherwell for now - and wants to make his loan move from Danish club Midtjylland permanent. He said: "I have an agreement to leave Denmark for free in summer and Motherwell will get first option." Sounding quite encouraging. I just hope our own tight fistedness doesn't cost us, by not stumping up for his wages.

Can we not sign him permanently just now because we already have him on loan. I know Beckham's AC Milan deal didn't have to be made permanent/extended before the January deadline as he was already on a loan deal. I'm sure the same sort of thing happened for Tim Howard on loan at Everton, then signing permanently in March or something like that.
-
Yeah. Thats what I got from that as well. He said they applied the flat wage structure when Butcher was in charge but stopped ot for McGhee coming in tho attract players like Porter, Hughes and Hammell back to the club
-
^ Good. Keeps him off the radar. As soon as he signs his new 10 year deal they can get him called up right away.

I saw quite a surprising stat over the weekend that United haven't beaten a team outwith the bottom 3 since November. They could be the ones to miss out if they don't arrest that dip in form soon. Although if anyone is to help them out and keep them in the top 6 it'll be Hibs.
