Neither do I - but in any case, do you think arrogant tossers like Keevins actually make public apologies for half-baked stories? Naw

Interesting analysis. At this stage, if Mowbray doesn't go to Celtic then MMG would be Celtic's immediate choice. If true, that means Aberdeen, then Well are left hanging around waiting for others to make up their minds. How about JB taking the initiative and simply asking McGhee if he's staying or going? I like JB stuffing Hugh Keevins with his statement regards McCall. Nice one.

Best And Worst Motherwell Performances You Have Seen

In the late 70s, didn't we lose to Queen's Park at home? -
Apart from paying way over the odds for EPL games, I notice the other reason for going tits up is poor customer service. I'll vouch for that. I cancelled at Christmas and have only recently stopped getting pestered to re-connect. I found their service stank. Haven't missed Setanta one bit.

At a time of financial decline and squad rebuilding, Well need a manager who can galvanise the club. For me, ex players like Niholt or McCart fit the bill. McCall, Calderwood and Lennon (!!!!!!!!!) definately don't. Pressley would be a repeat of the McLeish appointment in the 90s. I think the guy's got some character - but do we need a rookie coach at this time. I voted for Niholt, be happy with McCart, but suspect the AN Other chappie will get the hot seat. McGhee? - probably not.

Like our pornstar announcer - the PA system was f***ed years ago!

IMO Boyle will stay within budget and simply promote Leitch.

Filipe Morais and the return of Richie Foran are good shouts for a start. Both are realistic and affordable. I may be a minority here but I think Klimpl is just OK and average. Fans favourite purely cos he shows commitment and likes crunching tackles. He'll probably sign cos nobody else will want him.
-
O'Brien - cos he maintained an interest in the game. I would have voted for Foran if he was still ours. Didn't he chase everything all night? Miss u Richie.
-
I think our recent good run is partly due to us no longer surrendering the midfield like we have been prone to in recent seasons. Klimpl's the big change - great ball winner. If making overt jestures Maros is the fan's No1 to help persuade him to sign - then count me in.

Good point. This is the real reason why we are 6th and they are 3rd. I can't believe we will go another close season without strengthening central defence. I don't want to put too much faith in Stretch as he's just back from injury. But can we please sign a big, hard 6 footer to marshall our back line?

Can't be there but glad c.1000 Well fans will be. As there's a lovely, flat playing surface, covered in grass, I take skill to overcome brawn. Well to shade it by a goal, prob 1-0.

The State Of The Park........stadium Grow Light Concept.
gullane replied to PettyWulliegrew's topic in Club Chat
Cheers. So basically hot air bubbles don't work. Someone says the team are training on it as well. Is there no all weather surface somewhere local? For instance, Bathgate Acadmy has a good artificial pitch that is well used by various clubs. -
PA is certainly louder now. But clearer?????????? Naw

The State Of The Park........stadium Grow Light Concept.
gullane replied to PettyWulliegrew's topic in Club Chat
Can someone in the know explain exactly what has gone wrong? I take it the undersoil heating was never properly repaired and the tonnes of clay under it are still there. Why is the hot air bubble destroying the grass? I'm not asking so I can have an informed greet and moan. Was just hoping if we can all ascertain the problem with the pitch, then hopefully we can work out a solution. Grow Light bulbs and a decent artificial surface are two sound suggestions. -
Can never resist posting on any thread about Wullie. I'm sure there's at least one a year. Quite simply - he will always make an all time Well 11 and he was my first hero. Honest you youngsters - Wullie woz better than Faddy, Coop and Coyne. Well legend.

For all the Well fans who come on here but can't make it to Fir Park - I can't stress enough - our pitch is truelly rank. So any team sheet must have a target man up front and someone on the wing or wings to put crosses in. Cillian and/or Sutton to start. I'd also drop Fitzy. Given his lack of confidence and the state of the pitch, I'd save him for away matches at present.

Don't think you can please everybody in situations like this. So let's look on the positives 1. For those who can make it - £15/£10 - is still cheaper than most games. 2. For those who can't - like me - it's live on SKY. 3. Both clubs earn some much needed dosh. 4. Both clubs have the exciting prospect of a big match next round - and more dosh. I agree it's a shame Sky couldn't have kept it at the Tuesday when many of you seemed to have made plans. But IMHO there's more pos than neg.
-
Glad there are some of us keeping the heid. I agree Celtic are beatable - esp at FP. But we are also well capable of getting gubbed in Paisley. C'mon the Well

A tall striker and a winger signed. That spells goals for me. Good piece of business. Look forward to rest of season.

He was the classy member of the mid 70s side. I loved "Dancer". IMHO he was on a par with Davie Cooper - just lacked consistency. So where is he now? Has he any connections with the ex-players network?
-
"The SFA have warned that if it's not played by then, they will have to "think seriously" about a new venue." So they haven't started "thinking seriously" yet!!! I'm neither a football administrator or a weatherman, but even I can see significant doubt in Inverurie being able to host this game this week. So why not switch it to Pittodrie now?
-
Good piece of business. £400k for a class striker who cost nothing and bagged us 27 goals. Cheers Chris - see you in the Premiership one day.
-
Wasn't Reynolds a Left Back to start with? I'd like to see him tried there - esp if Hammel's taken a knock.

Yesteday's pitch necessitated high balls. I too thought Sutton for Porter was the obvious switch. We broke up the pitch twice soon after Porter went off - but no-one was in the box to receive a high ball. I know he's not played much in recent weeks but neither has Pressley. A fresh Sutton could have caused the Bairn's defence nightmares. Or does MMG know something we don't? ........ Course he does.... he's the gaffer!
