  1. Mackin is highly regarded by Craigan and I'm glad Moore might get a run.
  2. In Hammell we've had one of the best Scottish left backs in the modern era. When you look at who has been capped by Scotland under Vogts onwards, you wonder why he didn't play more for the country. Saying that, last season injuries caught up with him and although there is merit in offering him a one year deal, but him and Lasley are past their best.
  3. Always think we missued out by not signing Macdonald when he went to Falkirk then Kilmarnock. He's a quality keeper.
  4. I'd expect Campbell to feature next season.
  5. There has to be some progress. Cadden has been the only youth who has really contributed. I don't believe signing on Hammell or Lasley for another season dies the club any favours. They've been great servants, but their time surely must end with this season. If we don't recruit anyone suitable in the summer then questions have to be asked. We've had three managers now who've failed to replace key positions adequately. I hate to be negative, but the time has come to forget the last two seasons.
  6. Right. Some posts are beginning to smell of the ridiculous legislation bought in to victimise football fans. That aside, I will state my experience. My stepdaughter, ex and I attended games from when the little one was twelve. We went to the family stand for her first Celtic game, having always been in the East Stand. I was concerned about the language, atmosphere and general hostilities, but mainly from the close proximity to the away end. She hated the experience. The atmosphere was sterile and even at a young age, missed the banter and the screaming. On reflection, that is what football is about. Voicing my opinion, which I'm entitled up do, but please, stop this 'bois removed' narrative.
  7. It must be easy to give the team talk against us. Johnston is the only creative outlet, close him down and crowd him out. Press the defence in the last ten minutes, you'll get a goal. Far too easy.
  8. If Fletcher isn't performing, we have no other forwards on the bench. A resuffle with Pearson or Ainsworth?
  9. I'm not Flow, nor have I ever met the man!
  10. I actually like McGee. I'm in the minority, it seems, but I think we needed a strong and experienced manager after the whole Barraclough episode. The problems that have surfaced are a result of his bizarre team selections, criticism of fans and players. We have gone backwards since beating Celtic, the Hearts game was so awful on so many levels and I haven't seen a performance so inept since the days of Malpas, then we were swept as side by Kilmarnock. It is looking a lot more bleak than it did during December.
  11. Lawless was behind Murphy, Higdon, McFadden and Higgingbottom if I remember correctly, but we still retained Mchugh during that period.
  12. I thought, in recent memory, Hammell and Hatley were the best full backs in the league.
  13. Spare a little thought for the fact that despite McCall and Barraclough in charge, the latter of which had more resources than any other manager since McLeish and who had signed many players, we have not replaced an aging Lasley in the middle of the park. Effectively, since McGee was last in charge we haven't looked at any long term replacement or adequate cover in the middle of the park. Barraclough left us with five first team strikers and unless we can slot in Clarkson, McDonald or now, possibly McFadden, we are drastically short in the middle. New additions like Chalmers, who despite a number of first team games looks way out of his depth, mutch more so than the mutch criticised Law, haven't helped either. Kennedy and Laing have a lot to prove too, if Hall continues to take the starting position.
  14. I thought Pollock was quite a talented player when I watched him.
  15. I see a certain Nick Blackman has transferred to Derby for £2.5 million.
  16. I can imagine that Law would have a few offers from SPFL teams, though not on the wages he's got at Ibrox.
  17. On a different note, I've always liked Leitch in the limited times I've seen him play. You have to doubt that he has the physical stature to compete with other SPFL midfielders though. Given that some of us on here remember Shaun Fagan play 72 times over 7 seasons, I'm sure that both Leitch and Cadden are better players than him!
  18. I think we are forgetting, even though I doubt he had that much involvement in the Grimshaw transfer to Preston, that Man U are currently managed by a man who seems to have turned into a complete lunatic.
  19. Is Hall not the first player to come through the ranks and secure a starting place since the likes of Pearson, McFadden and Clarkson? I know Hutchinson did, but we got him from a youth team down south. I'm a bit concerned that we've not had many coming through in over a decade.
  20. All of a sudden I'm thinking that Vigurs would have done well under McGee.
  21. Not unless we play the Dutch system of one striker and two wingers up front, with McDonald in a CAM role with Pearson and Cadden/Leitch/Laing/Thomas. I'd like to see Marvin test Patterson, arguably the best right back in the league.
  22. The scary thing is that Accrington Stanley have just lost two midfielders on pre-contract terms to Rangers.
