Nick Law is on seven grand basic plus win bonuses. Got that from a very reliable source.

We'll draw Formatine and Lawson will score the winning goal! -
I completely agree. It seems that Jack Leitch isn't going to be given a chance at staking a claim. He's yet to feature under McGee and has now worked under three permanent managers. I thought he showed a lot more potential than Carswell. Some players haven't worked out this term, Taylor, Robinson and Clarkson spring to mind, and we've had some unfortunate injuries. We just didn't seem to recruit any particular quality and I'm more disappointed in McDonald than I ever was with McFadden.

On a slightly different note, I've just remembered 'Scotsport.' Was it this program that Gerry McNee was on? I saw him last week, he drinks in the Celtic (Republican) near me. Still the vile, arrogant and opinionated prick in his retirement.

I appreciate that Chalmers has been pretty dire, but for those who think an ageing Hammel, on the back of most of the last two seasons out to injury, will come in a save all is a step too far. He's only slightly younger than Lasley, who sine on here would have papped into a nursing home at the end of last season. -
Are Brighton not pretty much off the pace in the championship? Murphy has done really well and hopefully he will peak as he hits his thirties. Just a shame we haven't seen him in a Scotland shirt before GMS and alike.

Although Kilmarnock have got their act together, they are still susceptible to completely imploding at times. I think we'll get the win. We'll be a better drilled and organised side given that McGee has been at Fir Park for a few weeks now.

The Dumfries and Galloway Standard says Fraser Kerr was due to make his debut at the weekend, but his ban is still in place. They list 4-1 to bottom club Livingston at on Saturday!
-
Fraser Kerr at Queen of the South then?

I'm very encouraged by what MM has said. Not the waffle we were subjected to under Barraclough, more realistic and I'm sure he'll be pushing the players through on the training field.

Motherwell 4 Celtic 4 30 July 2005 We got stuffed by a late Craig Beattie goal, but what a game. My stepdaughter was 12 and it is the first game I took her to against the old firm and in the East Stand, as previously we'd gone to the last few in the family section at the main stand. I think she swore more than I did that day and that is saying something! Felt robbed after the game, but the atmosphere was electric.

Was this 1996/97? I remember it at Firhill well. I was living as a first year student 10 mins walk from Maryhill. Great memories of that day!

I've got to say, I've spent some time talking to Anya and his 'auntie', his mum's best friend. He was one of the loveliest guys I've met in the football world, along with Ian Wright. His aunt said it was always his dream to play for Scotland and he was delighted when he signed for Watford and made it to be a professional footballer, full time. We all make decisions in life, but with all his success, Anya was just a great guy who seemed ecstatic to be playing at international level and kept saying, 'if I'm called up to the next squad.' I met him at lunch the day after a qualifier at Hampden.

McMannus has shown he can play, but only against Rangers. -
So he was!

Kai Niyossen *spelling* was the Icelandic striker's name. I think he made three appearances, scoring one against Dundee United. Don't know how I seem to remember this!
-
The figures being quoted here are ridiculous. Young players at Celtic are not on two grand if they make a first team appearance.
-
We started last season with both Ramsden and Kerr being available for the right back position, they were released and although Law was playing in midfield, he cemented the right back position later in the season. We now have Law and Reid as the senior pros in this position, with an unproven young player also in contention. I'm still concerned that after five players playing there in a year, we still don't have a solution.

Theo Robinson actually has a reasonable pedigree and we've helped a lot of players rejuvenate their careers at Fir Park. Remember a certain McDonald that was written off before her arrived here? With Moore on loan, Fletcher injured and Clarkson playing a bit part role, I'd welcome a striker with pave that offers something different. He's on a free, has scored goals at other clubs, hasn't seemed to settle anywhere for long, but neither had Ainsworth. Maybe he'd link well with Skippy, but I guess I'm just positive about the prospect of signings, unlike others on here.

Roll on tomorrow.

That's just people teying to get back from T in the park!

Will be interesting to see where Kennedy fits in, but certainly a better central defensive unit with McMannus and Laing. If you take those the two that Barraclough brought in and compare them to O'Brien, Kerr, Ramsden and Cummings, then I think we can all see an improvement. I'll be happy as long as the young lads show more promise and perform better than Kerr or Cummings.
