  2. Did anyone else notice the lack of our players in the U21 squad for next week? I know Murphy and Forbes are now twenty-two, but I thought we'd have a few players in our squad.
  3. With Higdon and Murphy, with Law, Humphrey and Hateley all putting away chances, I'd rather have our attacking options than any other team outside the old firm. I can't wait for the weekend!
  4. Exactly the kind of 'fans' I was referring too. Perhaps you should take some time out.
  5. It seems that when I pass opinion, I get slaughtered. However.... Higdon has shown vision and is a proven goalscorer. He may lack pace but has real physical presence and awareness. I think we should all be encouraged by the fact that we have Higdon, Murphy, the hottest forward in Scottish football since McFadden and two young strikers in McHugh and Smith. Okay, there is no real depth, but I'd rather have those four than anything that Hibs, Aberdeen or indeed Hearts have on there books and those clubs operate with a much larger wage bill.
  6. So very true! I've now wet myself laughing!
  7. I refer to my earlier point. Sutton went for the money at the comedy club of Hearts. Higdon is our No. 9, who was prolific for a very poor team last season. Two chances converted today will do me and it should do our 'supporters.'
  8. Right on. His strike rate was prolific last season with a very poor side. Sutton went for the money and signed for the panto that is Heart of Midlothian. Time to get behind Higdon.
  9. I have it from a very good source that we are holding out for 1.2 million for him.

    Murphy

Please tell me he was rested tonight and nobody is trying to sign him....
  11. Been a while since we had a player with some invention. O'Brien was maybe the last?
  12. Cillian Sheridan? He did nothing with us, less with Plymouth - no goals - and was poor at St Johnstone. Players like Higdon are way above him in terms of ability and that is the quality we have and should be signing. The 'Celtic swagger' and attitude he adopted playing with us, along with his poor work-rate is why I don't rate Sheridan.
  13. Got to say that the training kit tonight really looked the part.
  14. Murphy strolled through and a great goal. I thought Pollock and Lawless looked good tonight and we did play better in the second half with the youngsters on. Plus: Murphy - looked sharp Law - nice touches and he can play a bit Lawless - a handful for the full-backs Pollock - nice play through the centre Saunders - great defensive play and good overlaps with Humphrey Minus: Humphrey - a bit wasteful Higdon - got no service, at all! Hateley - he just can't play in centre midfield, gave the ball away and got disposessed too often
  15. Humphrey has good attributes and I think the goal he scored in the cup, was it against Dundee United or St Johnstone, proves he can find the target if given the chance. Murphy needs to be more decisive and less elaborate, hope fully playing through the middle and more direct, but remains the most promising player. Since McCall has cleared out Casagolda and Ross, I think Page was better than him, I don't really dislike any of the current squad.
  16. A move for Reynolds would be a step backward, if you ask me.
  17. Okay - who's going and what pubs to drink in? Simples.
  18. Couldn't agree more. McCall has strengthened right across the board. I did like Sutton, but Higdon was a real handful last season and a prolific scorer. The fact that Jeffers and Ross were winding down there (over hyped) careers and we have replaced them with young, ambitious players with potential shows that McCall has got it right.
  19. I thought Higdon was superb for a team that really struggled last season. I'd be glad to see him in Claret and Amber next season. I think Page has been good in the games he played, better than Ross and on much less wages I would guess. There are players that need to come through next season. We've lacked a true left midfield player for quite a few seasons, hopefully Pollock will show some promise next season. Can't argue with Casagolda and Charambulous going, they've not shown anything at all. The centre midfield area, if Jennings goes, needs serious attention. McCall has not been too bad so far, hope it continues!
  20. I don't see Humphrey being here at the start of the season. Maybe Murphy will have a few takers as well. I think Bob McHugh might get a run next season. Is Casagolda out of contract?
  21. I wouldn't have him back... big wages and not much effort. About time we see one of the boys partner Lasley if Jenno goes.
  22. The Chris Clark rumour is gaining a bit of weight. I don't remember him at all!
