John Boyle was a treasured client of mine for years. The day he put the club into administration, the interviews were given in the restaurant I worked in. I told him that I'm sorry, and that I didn't know what to say... and burst into tears! He turned to Fiona, then his wife, and said, the boy here is a huge Motherwell fan. A true gentleman in every sense. Mr Boyle, I, for one, salute you!

I thought our performance in the Cup against Dundee United was the best I've seen in years from a Motherwell team. Between that and the Celtic game, anyway. It has just got better and better. Aberdeen and then again against Dundee United tonight. Let's just hope for more of the same in the CUP SEMI!

I hope he puts away the chances that we've had in the last few games. Jeffers and Sutton up front will be a test for any defence in the SPL.

At least McCall has come out in the press and stated what he tried, and failed, to do. If other clubs can offer more wages then there is not much McCall can do.

I have heard that McCall did try to get a few new faces in, but their clubs wanted a loan fee.

Based on interview he was the best candidate. McCall was willing to accept the constraints of our club and for that, good luck to him! He has inherited a very thin squad with some talented individuals, but look at the experienced players we have. They are only a few, Craigan, Lasley, Jennings, Hammel and Sutton. Give it some time before we call for his head. We are beginning to sound like Celtic fans calling for Lennon's head after the first OF game of the season!

I couldn't agree more. Now is the time for Hateley to prove himself at his natural position, instead of wandering in the middle of the park!

I wasn't at the game, but I hope we can add a few new faces before the end on January. Let's hope we can kick-start the season from here. Co-Op cup, anyone?

Couldn't have put it any better. We desperately need stability. McCall could be the man. I just wish he was 28, and in our midfield at Perth last night. Boyle has produced with every managerial appointment so far. Gannon and then Brown were sagas, but McCall was willing to take what may seem a not very attractive prospect. Let's wait to see what McCall can bring in and how he mounds a team with the resources available.
