At Celtic Park you buy a ticket for a seat which has a restricted view or you buy one which doesn't. So you paid admission into a match which puts money into Rangers and not Motherwell - friendly or competitive match, your dosh went to Rangers - can't you see the double standards in that? A bit hypocritical when your having a go at someone goin wi a free ticket.

Sorry mate but earlier on in this thread you mentioned that you were surprised about the actions of Rangers fans when you took your boy to the Rangers Man City game after you slated the actions of Celtic fans. The actions of both never fail to surprise me. If theres anyone showing double standards in this thread then you gave a pretty good example of it. I'm sure those going in the home end will be supporting Motherwell - its just that they'll not be as vocal as they would normally be. And while I'm at it (on another matter) the excuses of paying top whack for a restricted view at Parkhead is nonsense as you know when you purchase a ticket now if your paying for restricted view. Do you same folk complain about the restrcited view in the East or Main Stand at Fir Park? Anytime I've paid into Celtic Park, the problem of restricted view is never an issue and is way down my list of issues of supporting my team inside Parkhead.

I agree with the most of what you said mate but we've got to be patient regarding this kinda stuff - especially with younger players who'll have agents and/or advisors to sort out (as much as I despise agents and "advisors"). We've got a manager who is backing up what he says with actions and by the looks of it plenty of young eager future stars in the making. Lets put our faith where we should. If it works out then great, if it doesn't then I'm sure Jim'll make sure the club get decent fee should the player move on. More importantly during this negotiation period we should be looking to help make the Motherwell the attractive choice. I know you think this thread is a back handed compliment but it makes harsh reading and very judgemental on a player who'se played a small amount of games for the club. I know we all want to see what best for everyone but a little calm is whats required here - not over-reacting to the slightest rumour. For every truthful rumour out there I'd bet theres at least twice as many false ones out there as well.

Who said he's mucking us around? Both parties are talking/negotiating a new contract by the sounds of it and its a process which usually takes a wee while. I don't think Jim Gannon will take anyone mucking him about and false rumours of young players "mucking Motherwell around" is enough cause for many of our fickle fans to get on the players back. Lets just wish Paul a speedy recovery and keep faith in Gannon as he's shown already that he knows what to do in getting our young players to sign longer deals.

Must be a different guy - Billy Dodds was getting slagged on the radio for missing it because of the pole in front of him in the Main Stand.

Fraser was never intended to be our first choice keeper. We signed him at a time when we weren't sure if Graeme Smith was staying. He'll do as back-up and I'm sure will do a job if ever he's needed but in pre-season whilst he never made any mistakes, he didn't exactly turn in any performances which would make folk consider that he should become first-choice either.

We signed (and sold back to if my memory is correct) Van Der Gaag from PSV who are a bigger club than Maritimo so how's he achieving more than he did as a player?

How can they know afford the full bang? They never have any change when they come to the gate - they only seem to carry £20 notes.

Lukas seems to be the new Davie Clarkson given the difference of opinion on here about him. I thought Lukas was unlucky a few times last night. He put in loads of effort and had a few shots which were blocked. As others have said I thought he was trying to hard last night to open his Well account. I'm confident that once he does score that a few more will follow. In the meantime, if he's not scoring then all we can ask of him when he's on the park is that he puts plenty of effort in and he certainly did that last night.

Was that the same game Flow was the only one who paid full price?
-
In our game against St Johnstone, Alan Main wore a black top which was the same colour as the refs/linesmans strip.
-
There were actually around 500 fans in the South Stand on Sunday of which I'd guess that just under half were from Scotland.
-
I'm not to sure they'll open the South on Sunday. Given the likely size of crowd involved, I'd guess only the East, Cooper and O'Donnell stands will be open.

Yesterday's newsletter - are they still going? I used to get them last season but haven't had one for months.

I hope no-one suggests updating our nickname using the same method in the present day. Could you imagine what our new nickname would be?

Given how close you stay to Airdrie's ground and the time you turned up at, I'd hate to think what time you turn up to Fir Park at?
-
Yeah, cause it made getting in and out of Airdrie so much better

The new stewards were more relaxed about standing up due to the Police taking a more relaxed view on it. I hope the police continue to take this approach but all it takes is one incident and I can see the situation of last season returning.

All the best Emily in the move to Arsenal. Moving to Arsenal is an achievement in itself but doing it after being "coached" by Shug makes it a monumental task. Good to see more folk ignoring what Shug tells them as much as I do!

Was chatting to my dad on road up to Perth on Saturday, about a superbly taken injury time equaliser against St Mirren at Love Street in the late 80s to make it 2 all. We can remember Davie Cooper and Johnny Gahagan being involved with one as the crossing the ball and the other taking it on their chest before lashing it home but my memory is hazy as to who done what. Can anyone remember?

Have you not read this thread? These mistakes are far from rare and thats why folk are moaning about it. Mistakes can be forgiven when the reporter is working to tight deadlines and has research to do but in match reports its unforgiveable. They don't even have to check websites for players name - if I'm not mistaken they are given a free programme in the press box which contains squad names and numbers. Why can't they familiarise themselves with the teams before the game starts. The standard of journalism in Scotland is dire and the standard of sports journalism has been on the decline for years. When I first started stewarding at Fir Park, Bob Crampsie would turn up a couple of hours before kickoff and would familiarise himself with everyone in the ground, listening to everyones opinions and would do proper research. Nowadays its a completely different story with mistakes more than often replicate in other tabloids. Blaming deadlines is a cop-out - I'm sure most folk on here work to tight deadlines yet still have some high level of attention to detail.

Who cares about what the Man U team will be - what I wanna know is will the Well be fielding our "reserve" team with the players we're short of on international duty?
-
Wrong - you were charged £22 My rant was about Motherwell offering student prices and St Johnstone not. If St Johnstone don't offer a discount to Well fans then why should Motherwell offer St Johnstone fans a discount?
