  1. Some centre forwards can make good centre halfs but I don't believe Higdon will be one of them. The big man gives away a lot of fouls when he goes for headers. This is fine when doing it in the oppositions half but its a different story doing it 20-30 yards from our goal. If Craggs is out then its should be down to the next U19 centre half. Its all about bringing through the next one off the conveyor line not about the short term attitude of Saturdays games when we're a couple of points clear of the next team below us. Who'se to say we don't uncover the guy who could potentially replace Craggs when he hangs up his "Just for Men"
  2. I had a good view of it and couldn't believe the guy behind me say that he didn't even think it was a booking. I doubt he'd say the same thing had Fyvie made the tackle on Lasley. Some folk were booing Fyvie as he was being carried off in a stretcher - absolutely nuts.
  3. The away support could be nearly double the original game due to the additional tickets handed out in the South Stand.
  4. Nothing will be ripped out though - If anything it will be barriers installed above every seat to make it "safe".
  5. It wouldn't really be a possibility as the club would have to carry out extra improvements as the only exit point would be where the turnstyles are and the turnstyle can only go in one direction. A far simpler solution would be to split the Cooper Stand as both fans can enter and exit via seperate turnstyles and use different toilets and pie stalls but they've worked that before and it wasn't popular.
  6. As a club our first aim should be to avoid relegation, then top 6, then European places.
  7. Congratulations Iain. All the best to you and the family. Will hopefully see you on Sunday.
  8. I once watched Marsh training wi Latchford one day at Fir Park. Marsh had picked up an injury and even though there was no chance that he'd be playing that afternoon him and Latchford trained so intence that Marsh eventually had to quit training as he was starting to blister his fingers and some of his knuckles were bleeding. If Marsh can pass on his commitment from that day to Randolph, then I'm sure we're in good hands if you pardon the pun.
  9. I'd go with Forbes in place of Lasley. Nicky Law has brought some good performances out of Stevie Hammell of late and who'se to say that he can't do the same with Forbes. If Hutchy is fit, I'd bring him into the team instead of Saunders and if things aren't working with Forbes, then we could shift Hately in with Saunders covering Hately at rightback as plan B. I think St Mirrens tactics will decide who gets the points. If they stick with their bullyboy tactics which they've used since they came up to the SPL then we're in for a very difficult afternoon. If they have improved and try to play a bit of football, I'm confident that we'll outplay them and get the victory.
  10. Singing Section = opportunity for the club to charge a couple of quid more. The lack of atmosphere isn't suddenly gonna get 100 times better if the club take away the seating. The installation of seating vastly reduced atmosphere but taking it away isn't gonna be the only solution. Safe standing also isn't the way forward, the whole attraction of standing was that you could move about freely and safe standing areas are hindered just the same as seats are. Fir Park can produce great atmosphere but whether sitting down or standing, its down to the individuals concerned. The problem is football fans are to pampered today. They want top class facilities whilst keeping the nostalgia of how it used to be. Look at this thread for example, some folk are wanting the young guys who are trying to create some atmosphere to sit near them so they can join in. Why don't you join in regardless of how where yer sitting or how shite yer singing is cause I guarantee that theres someone else sitting near to ye who fancies joining in to but like you they don't fancy making an eejit of themself. Sing out, sing loud and sing often.

    Late Arrival

Most turnstyles shut 15 mins into the game but one turnstyle in each stand remains open until the end of the first half.
  12. You can see the stadium from the train station. Would say its prob a 10-15 min walk.
  13. Defo Distance from the ground but I think there are a couple of boozers nearby
  14. That reminds me - on the twitter description of our second goal last night, Saunders assist was described as a "Lovely ball across the corridor of uncertainty" - does anyone have any idea where that is? I thought it must be some pass if he's played it from Craggs hallway to Pollock, either that or Flows being overdoing the creative writing classes. There were also a couple of parts of the match report on the official website which doesn't really describe the action for those who weren't there.
  15. I'd pay for most folk on here to get their eyesight corrected and shock therapy to make them realise that we're Motherwell and not Real Madrid .
  16. Remember Peter that his budget lasts the full year. Ross, Jones and Jeffers all joined in January so it could be that he is keeping aside some money which he can spend this coming January. Whilst we'd all love a couple more signings, I can see budget slashing across the board in Scotland creating an over-reliance on youngsters for some years to come.
  17. Chris Humphrey tweeted the other day that training starts tomorrow for us. I think we've probably needed the rest more than others due to starting the season earlier and finishing the season later than the other teams.
  18. At no point does that article mention pay at the gate.
  19. Quite an accurate description Steve. Someone earlier said Las was the most under-rated player at Fir Park but I think he's the most over-rated. Whilst he does have a combatitive style of play, I don't think he wins enough balls for him to be described as a defensive midfielder and although he contributed a couple of goals last year he is far from a creative or box to box midfielder. To me Keith is a decent midfielder for a team like us to have. He always puts in the effort and is rightly rewarded for that by being a fans favourite but has weaknesses in his game which many fail to realise (like getting dragged out of position as he is sometimes to over-eager to win the ball back). If I had to choose between Las or Jenno then to me it would be Jenno everyday of the week.
  20. That Dougie Ramsey is it not?
  21. Not anymore we don't. Feudalism was abolished by the Scottish Parliament a good couple of years ago.
  22. Did Jammy even make it to Braehead? if my memory serves me right we had to drop him off at the off-ramp at the Raith.
  23. I wouldn't put Kenneth in that bracket at all, he belongs in the "Clumsy-as-fuck" or "Thick-as-shit" bracket. Most of Kenneth's fouls are a result of poor positioning, lack of ability to read a situation and through clumsy touches of the ball. That to me means he's closer to the "full of nonsense" than "no nonsense" defending.
  24. Stick me down for 2 for both the bus and the tickets.
  25. I agree that its all down to timing but we should have been talking to Sutton after we wrapped up the top six instead of doing it the week before the cup final. After we got into the top six, we knew the minimum of what our budget would be and it would have then been a good time for Sutton to be rewarded for his purple patch which helped get us into the top six and would've been a good boost ahead of the semi or the final. There are certain players where its acceptable to wait until the end of season before deciding if we are keeping them or not (eg. Jeffers, Jones and the like) and there are players who we should've been working hard to secure their deals as part of building for next season (Sutton and Jennings). Wrapping up the deals for these guys in March/April time where McCall knows who are his regulars would've been more adventagous to the club and would've prevented the vultures from circling.
