We play Buzz's Hibs team on Saturday and given a choice between Buzz and Ruddy, I know which one I'd rather have in between the sticks and it ain't Buzz.

I think the song which Pie is talking about isn't the song we sing at Cup games.
-
I think I've got that file somewhere as well. I think it was someone on here who posted it and I vaguely remember the poster saying it was John Swinburne who was singing it but my memory may be playing tricks on me.

The problem now is apparently the drainage is working too good in that the pitch isn't retaining any water and that is why the roots are churning up so easy. St Mirren have just moved to a new park and aren't experiencing any problems to the same extent that we are. The most disappointing thing is that in the last few years our team has performed better away from home because of other folks pitches being in a better state than Fir Park. Those folk who only going to the home games are missing some of our best performances over the last few years.
-
I rated Klimpl simply because he wasn't Bob Malcolm - it amazing the difference in doing the same job only sitting 20-30 yards up the park does. I'd also suggest Bob Malcolm but he had superb passing ability apparently.

Wouldn't dare to call you a housewife but if the pinny fits . . . Keith Lasley - good worker puts in a decent shift but wouldn't play him as a single defensive midfielder and wouldn't dream of playing him as an attacking midfielder as he is murder in front of goal. Too many times on here folk slate new signings cause they can't get a game for X team yet these same folk were cock-a-hoop cause we signed someone that Killie wouldn't even sign for a squad player.

Why should the club wait till the Trust "develops" while in the meantime the club could be doing something positive? I know there have been recent changes in the Trust but they've got a long way to go before they can actually say that this time they actually are making a difference. I'm with those who think a properly run Q&A session would be a great start. Why not on the official website rather than on here or FPC? then that way the club can raise the profile of it.

A tad harsh to blame him for being missing at the chance before they scored. Most of the team were up the park at that stage as we gifted Utd possesion. I see in todays rating in the Sun they mentioned he's arguably the best right back in the SPL. I don't neccessarily agree with that but it shows he's impressing some of the neutrals. Yes his positioning needs worked on but while his pace impresses folk, I suggest that he still looks like he has another gear that he can step up to but the problem is to often our front men aren't getting in the box quick enough. There always room for improvement but I'd also suggest while we've lost some points from his poor positioning, we've also gained some points from his crossing (Forbes v Hearts) and could gain more in future if we can get folk in the box a bit quicker.

How do you know that wasny him having a shot?
-
I'll admit the Marlon King thing was a cheap shot. I knew you'd spot that as you've fired enough yersel. I don't get why you jumped into this debate with such a strong opinion given what little you've seen off him. Why not just say how many times you've seen him and that he's yet to impress? You've got an opinion thats different from mine - thats fine - why not debate it instead of jumping in and contributing nothing but an uninformed hunch?
-
I knew that. Why don't you spend your time orgainising a "Free Marlon King campaign" somewhere else rather than here. What a constructive post to the debate is in saying someone is "generally shite" - Inconsistent he may be but I'd love to know what you base him being "shite" on
-
Am surprised you haven't suggested that we replace him with Marlon King given the amount of fishing you do on here. Moutouakil is no worse than others in the team. When he's on form he's a great addition to the team and when he's poor he's worse than a man down. The only game we've lost goals from him being to far up the park was against Hibs. Given our position in the table that shows that he must be doing ok. What excites me about this season is that we've seen in patches from a number of players that we're capable of moving it up a gear and Yassin is can definitely be included in this.

Why are the 2 of you swapping Humphrey and O'Brien out of their normal position. Jim O'Brien could cover on the right hand side as well as the left but we've never seen Humphrey play out on left hand side. In saying that, knowing Jim Gannon anything is possible but I see no reason to change this.

Surely you should be arguing for the family approach by pointing out the club could add more choice of chocolate behind the kiosks to entice families thus increasing clubs Mars bar revenues. I hardly think the club are pushing the family image in folks faces. The group you speak of above aren't the only group with large disposable income. I'm sure a dad taking his wean will spend just as much as, if not more than, two 16-25 year olds. Everyone has different priorities when it comes to spending cash. Just because some folk have bills to pay doesn't mean they don't have money for the fitba. My dad took me to the fitba when I was a boy, I spend cash at the fitba and I'm sure I'll take any kids I have to the fitba. The club benefit from this chain continuing so where's the harm in them promoting this image? Its not as if promoting this image is having any detrimental affect to anyone else is it?

I'm not so sure. there was a match a couple of years ago (I think it may have been Scotland - Italy U21's?) which was hosted at fir Park. The club apparently received £10K but this was for use of the stadium including all facilities including police / stewards. I can't remember if the club were allowed to charge media for use of press room or not but either way I doubt they'll be able to do that in this case. The club will make some money but it'll be minimal. Perhaps the best we're hoping for is percentage of ticket sales and a sell out crowd.
-
Very little - will be a couple of grand. Given the hassle and time spent organising police/stewards and by the time the club have paid electricity for the floodlights and other expenses then the club will have little leftover from what they receive from the SFL.

In 2 posts here we've someone wanting Flow to answer something and in the next post someone having a go at the wording of the first sentence of an earlier reply from Flow (why just the 1st sentance, why no the 2nd or the 3rd or the . . . .) - just shows how fickle this place is. This isn't a go at Gaag or the mods - its aimed at the folk who get their knickers in a twist at the slightest wee rumour on here. I know when I hear rumours from a small number of folk that theres some substance to it - what I read on here I take wi a pinch of salt until its made official or its shown to be crap - its just a matter of giving it time to see which is which. Is it really that hard that others canny do the same?

I think theres also other reasons for Gannon not speaking to the press. I do though agree he did invite the speculation but it shows the standards of journalism that they picked out 2 wrong names. We have a half idea of who he was meaning and Craigan and Lasley have been playing their part this season (albeit a small one). Does the BBC and the rest of the media know the names of players outside our first team squad at the moment? There ignorance of our team should be more upsetting but its not surprising. End of the day Jim can fall out wi the press but its us the fans who are suffering. I want to hear Jim's views on Saturdays game, was it a point gained or 2 dropped to him, why did he change tactics and play a couple of players out of position. Saturdays match had more points for discussion than any of our games so far and its disappointing that we've no heard from him even through the official website.

It sounded like it was coming from outside the ground.

That would be me Couldn't have felt like a bigger tube after he scored it. Shocking defending giving him a free header. I've seen some folk mention they thought Saunders and fraser could've done better for the second. The main culprit for the second was Mark Reynolds who failed to track back on his main until it was too late to prevent him from putting in the cross. Great strike from Murphy. Never thought he had it in him. I always thought he was more of a penalty box striker. If he can strike the ball as well as that then why doesn't he do it more often? I still can't figure out whether its a point gained (was hardly our strongest team & given how late they scored the 2nd) or whether its 2 points gained (amount of chances plus 60 mins against 10 men) but the team showed great character in coming back both times.

As Del_siperwell says, it was shot in pre-season because if you look closely enough, you can see Paul Quinn at the back of the pack.

Div - Fair play to you for coming on here and contributing but I have to take exception to a couple of points in your post. You mention in your first post that we weren't that bad and then go on to mention how cheaply we gave the ball away. We were our own worst enemy last night. The turning point might have been the missed chance from Jutkiewicz but even had he put it away and we got a bit of confidence, I'm sure we'd have been equally guilty of repeating the mistakes we were making. I don't think we've any devine right to beat St. Mirren but you have to accept that to be successful then you have to beat the teams around you. St Mirren are definitely maturing into life in the SPL but I think it says more about the quality of top-flight scottish football than anything else. Jim Gannon has given us a fresh outlook and many Well fans have got carried away in what we're capable of achieving but I'm afraid we'll achieve hee haw if we perform the way we did last night. St Mirren wanted the result more last night and got rewarded for it but it shouldn't stop our fans from wanting to beat anyone and especially against a St Mirren team who threw a 2 goal lead away against us on Saturday.

Jamie isn't playing in his preferred role but it doesn't excuse him from poor decision making last night. He's on the park as a support striker and on the few occasions he was in the St Mirren half he should have been laying the ball off wide and going into the box to support Jutkeiwich. Instead he dallied long enough that he gave St Mirren a chance to get back and mark what little attacking players we have. To many times he dallied before choosing the wrong option. Jamie is still young enough and will always get my backing. Comparing folk to Faddy is what happens to all our young strikers and it raises unrealistic expectations among fans. Faddy was a one-off, he wasn't compared with anyone and it let him concentrate on doing what he does best. Lets give our young players the same courtesy and backing and see where that takes them.

I really couldn't figure out why Johnston was picked to be manmarked. Alan Johnston quickly realised this and went on runs to the other end of the park which took Reynolds totally out of position and left big gaps on our left hand side for them to exploit.
