The cameras did pick it up but nobody said anything about it.

Good performance from the lads today. Sutton proved again why he should be playing up front rather than wide left. Give him a new contract asap. Good to see Murphy end his goal drought as well. Thought he had a great game. One thing I was disappointed in was Griffiths, I just didn't get the hype about this guy at all. If he can be kept that quiet by Crags and Reynolds he won't make much of an impact in the SPL. 1st Divisionplayer at best. Well Done 'Well
-
He's been back at Blackburn since the start of the week. No definite news on where his next stop is yet although the Express and the Evening Times yesterday seem to think the sheepymehs.
-
It's okay it's only Alan Gow. Aberdeen and a couple of lower league English clubs interested. Apparently Fitzy getting a new contract until at least the end of the season.

The thing is, is it a myth? Until we try it we'll never know. The last time we had a league of 10, how many clubs had as many youngsters playing first team football as you see now? With a league of 10, more cash (supposedly), chairmen are going to look to keep their team in the top league. As a result the manager will be under pressure to play more negatively (as seen before). play older players who in return will want more wages than say a Murphy or a McHugh. So this extra cash gets eaten up with those extra costs. We go back to watching our club bringing in folk towards the end of the career rather than the excitement of seeing our next batch of youngsters coming through. Then in a few years time look at the league being revamped again to bring some excitement to it and the whole sorry mess starts again. For the National Team we once again see a decline in the quality of players available to us (yeah, it can get worse than it is just now). A lot of the problem with our National Team is down to the fact that our clubs ignored the ethos of growing our own. Scrapping the U21 rule will also lead to our supposedly bigger clubs once again ignoring their own youth system and raping the rest of us for any young player we deem worthy enough of playing in a team of 30 to 35 year olds.

Rumour posted on Twitter saying Celtic to offer £250K for Reynolds when they get shot of Loovens. Price seems a bit high to be believed though. Having said that Hibs got £250K for their donkey.
-
The steering group was Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibs, Motherwell and St Mirren So outside ourselves and the OF, everyone else is fighting a relegation battle at present. Looks like Turkeys do vote for Xmas after all.
-
You are right St Mirren.
-
You have to wonder why ourselves and St Mirren were invited onto the steering group ahead of Hearts and Utd. Was it because the OF knew we'd be easier to deal with and would bend over like good little public school boys should? Or did they genuinely feel that'd we'd represent the Hamilton and Inverness's of this league and listen to what we had to say? Or did JB just go along with it for the extra money? If it's the latter, then he has only himself to blame if we end up in the SPL2 in the coming years. A 12 team league has given us an opportunity to bring through more youngsters, a ten team league won't. We'll end up with tomorrow's equivalent of Derek Townsley and Karl Ready at the club. Those fans shouting about Crags being past it will be wishing they'd shut up. Every team outside the OF will be frightened of relegation and will play even more negative football. Which in turn will drive more fans away and hinder the development again of our younger players. Of course older players will also be looking for more dough as the clubs will supposedly be better off. The Press are on about 3 going down and 1 up at the end of next season if this was to go ahead but surely 2nd place in the First Division should be getting the playoff against 8th place. Or is that too much like playing fair? At least it'd give one of the 2 sides from the First Division a chance of staying up the following season. Then again could mean we lose a 1/3 of the league, instead of 1/4. Who are the SPL trying to kid? This isn't about what's best for the game, this is and always is what's best for the old Firm.

Why wait until the game is in progress to put on a bet that a Motherwell player would be sent off, when they could've done it before and may have got higher odds. Surely as the game plays out and a player that has a habit of not dodging out of tackles gets booked early in the game, should lower the price? No? As I have said earlier I thought about putting a bet on when Jennings got booked but it would've meant opening a new account and yes, may well have seen me close the account as soon as it was paid out. (I ain't a gambler per se but I had a bad habit with gambling way back in my Army days. If I left the account open it would be too easy a route to go back down again.) So bearing in mind that would've been placed in the North Lanarkshire area would that go against Jenno as well? I hope all those that won money with Scott Brown's sending off weren't from Glasgow and Edinburgh with new accounts.
-
As I said on the Referee thread. Why haven't the SFA suspended O'Reilly? He was involved in the sending off as well. So ifone should be suspended during their "investigation" so should the other.
-
I see the SFA have been writing to ask the Club to suspend Jennings whilst the investigations continue. So why haven't they suspended O'Reilly?

Not the most exciting of names but it doesn't have to be, it's what he brings to the team on the pitch that's important. If that translates into us at least getting back to the level we know the guys can play at, then I'll be happy. Welcome on board Mr McCall, lets hope your presence tonight lifts the team into a performance against Celtic.

That was posted yesterday, since then there's been stories that he ain't the man and we've gone back to Sbragia but he's said no again. Sbragia Revisited Today we have Stuart McCall in the race. So looks like JB's the only one that really knows what's going on. Starting to feel like we'll see the New Year in with GY in charge.

Condolences to you and your family. RIP DDM

I just wish I knew that BS were offering 10/1 on a Motherwell player being sent off. When watching the game on TV, I turned around as soon as Jennings was shown his yellow card early in the game, that he'd probably be sent off. So I'd imagine if any of his mates saw that happening they might have thought the same themselves. Without any collusion.

This is the 2nd season I haven't had a season ticket due to lack of funds. Last season I was picking games and to be fair attended most home games. This season, I haven't had the luxury of being able to even pick and choose games due to work. Getting home late on a Friday night to head back down South on a Sunday has meant that I have had too much to do on a Saturday to get to a game. The last game I was at, we were still in Europe. I have been in this situation before when I used to be a chef and not getting weekends etc free but I longed to be at a game. Here we are less than year on from a classic game at Fir Park against Hibs and to be honest I ain't missing it that much. Working in Glasgow I had the opportunity of being there last night and the missus was shocked that I didn't go. There's just something that I couldn't put my finger on but towards the end of last season I was thinking there was other things I could be doing on a Saturday afternoon and that was with us going well. It needs more than taking us to 10 team league to reinvigorate the Scottish game. Maybe it's time to make the referees professional as well. It's definitely time for clubs to realise that in the current financial climate they can't attract fans back by dropping the odd game to £5, they need to reduce the price across the board. The managers need to realise that they need to be more committed to playing football than lumping it or putting 10 men behind the ball. The chairmen need to realise that those Scottish managers on the dole are not necessary the best option just because they don't have to pay compo. The fans also need to know they can enjoy themselves without over zealous stewards spoiling it BUT the fans need to know that they are responsible for their own actions and how they affect others. In other words self policing for the idiots with smoke bombs. Only then will we see an increase in numbers, may not be big numbers but should be able to pull some fans back.
-
Maybe that's part of the manager training programme we put these young guys on. We give them the experiance and the knowledge and tell them that if they do well a big club will come in for them. I take it some clown has replaced Manchester Utd with Aberdeen as an example.
-
If I'm being honest I would probably say Yes to that. However too much has happened since he left and the way he was looking towards the end of his time at Aberdeen, I would imagine the last thing on his mind would be managing another club right now. I have been really inspired with some of the names we have been linked with though and can't wait to see what the combination of Dodds and Chisolm can bring to our club. NOT!!!! Maybe it is time to bleed another new manager but this time let it be guys with a Motherwell connection. I would gladly have chopped my right arm off for Adams but that won't happen now. Maybe it's time for Craggs to think about his long term future and take on the assistants role and have someone like Leitch or McCart as the manager. If we could get someone with an experienced head to look after them it might work.
-
Sounds like a great idea. Could even bid to become the groundsman ............ oh wait they already tried that .......... :wank: Seriously though, it's something that should raise some funds for the club and the best of luck with it.

looks like we'll be taken his right to free type from him as well.

Personally I don't see why it needs to be a Cup Final win. We have a team out there that have qualified for Europe 3 seasons running and sitting 3rd at present. That should be enough to put them down as Club Legends. The nucleus of that team have been Craigan, Hammell, Reynolds, Lasley, Sutton and Murphy of them only one hasn't been brought though the youth system or didn't play for us from an early age. Add to that the other players to be here as part of the team over the 3 years you have Fitzy, Jennings, Humphrey (fast becoming a favourite this season), O'Brien, Coke, Ruddy and Juke. Out of those we seem to praise and worship the guys that are only with us a short time Ruddy and the Juke being examples. I wonder how the same sort of support would have helped the likes of Murphy, Fitzpatrick and Fagan to reach higher levels. Murphy is starting to show again what he is capable of. Fitzy may not get that chance again and he could end up like Fagan. Both score important goals early in the career and the fans mindset is set to look for them doing it more in the future. A lot of fans seem to forget what these guys give us in a defensive sense and if they don't see them in and around the oppositions box for most of the game they had a bad game. Even if it's been these guys that have won the ball and started of the move that leads to the goal. Don't get me wrong I can get frustrated at players but I don't constantly find myself looking for them to make a bad pass just so I can bawl and shout abuse at them. It does bring it back to I pays my money I do what I like argument. However it might be worth thinking that if I back the player maybe I'l get more than my money's worth. The OP talked about players with a real infinity for the Club and Fans, Crags, Hammell and Lasley have to fall into category as does in my opinion Reynolds. I also have the feeling that if Pearson and McDonald hadn't played up to the ramblings of the Press and their agents they'd would've been praised by the fans in the same way that McFadden is. You look at the older players in the team just now I wouldn't be unhappy to still see Lasley, Hammell and Sutton still playing with us for another couple of years. I would love to say Crags but he isn't the young player he once was. I am pretty sure in 10 years time we will be having the same conversation and trying to find out who is going to be classed as a legend. Hopefully by then some of today's team may have lifted some silverware or qualified for the Group Stages of the Europa League. I have deliberately not mentioned Saunder, Page, McHugh and Hutchison of the team as these could be some of the players we are talking about then.
