  1. Sorry folks but News reporting this morning that the line will be closed unil the weekend at the earliest. You may have to endure the bus.
  2. Hopefully if things are to be believed about how the players felt about Gannon, we'll see a different side tomorrow and Saturday. Our biggest problem will be trying to predict what side Youngy picks for Hearts then Brown (whoever) for Saturday. Youngy will still have the services of Ruddy, Yass and Juke for definite. Those opions may not be there on Saturday depending on when they are due back at their own clubs.
  3. Probably because he was going to walk out on us for the Crewe job. You can't tell me that he has gone from being sacked yesterday, to being clolse to being appointed the new Crewe manager in the next few days. He'd have had to express an interest earlier and an interview. So this isn't out of the blue as Ward thinks it his. Unless of course Gannon was also being disloyal to him.

    New Manager

If this is correct, I think we'll find this poster is John Boyle.

    New Manager

I suppose now that Gannon has been shown the door, who do we want as the next manager? George Burley is looking at getting back to club management. Don't know who else is available at present so any ideas?

It was indeed October 1993. I was a only few weeks married at the time and the in-laws went on holiday to Portugal at the time. So my new father-in-law gave me his Bond Ticket for the Club Deck I had to sit on my hands when Dougie equalised. It was even harder to do that when he scored his second. It was worth it though, being the only happy face coming down those stairs that night. Funny enough I've never been offered it since. Think that game was the first start for a young Colin Scott the Rangers Goalkeeper as well.

    Betty Pryde

RIP Betty. Thoughts and condolences to her family, friends and the club.
  8. Seen it mentioned in the papers on Sunday.
  9. I can't believe that I am sitting here looking for Rangers to beat Aberdeen, just so McGhee's team aren't above us. C'mon 'Well scrape something from this today.

    Loan Deals

Ruddy is in the papers today saying that he is happy to stay for the season. Ruddy speaks Express carries the same story.

    Ict

Going by the BBC Text, Esson really seems to have kept ICT in the game tonight. Hopefully Ross has seen us through now.
  12. Did you not see the one he put in that Coke headed just over from then against Rangers? So I think that comment is totally wrong.
  13. They may have been there for 5 or 6 years but they are elected for a certain length of time, ie a % of them have to stand down every year and stand for re-election. So that's what I mean by the 2nd\3rd term comment. As for Stevie Diggle, I totally agree with everything you say, I was trying to play devils advocate pointing out what members need to do to change things and what the Trust have done for the club. Communication has always been a weak spot for the Trust. We used to have a section on here for the Trust where details of meetings, agm and questions to the Trust etc. used to go but it was always the same individuals that replied even though other Board Members had accounts and frequented it often. This was fine for our Board Members but not everyone has access to the internet. Another option looked at wass ending mails out by email to those that had supplied addresses but we found that we got a lot of bounce backs as well from that. So snail mail is probably the best option but that takes getting folk together to do the filling and mailing and that wasn't\isn't always possible due to other committments. Not an excuse for never doing it but explains why it wouldn't be regular.
  14. Sorry mate, I did indeed mean Speedie, that's what happens when you type too early in the morning with a hangover.
  15. They are all well aware of this forum and it's previous guise. The biggest problem with the Trust is that people are quick to snipe at it but the Board has always been under strength in numbers it could have on the Board. Each year there are Board Members who have to be re-elected but there are never enough Trust Members wanting to get involved with the Board and it means they get put back on automatically if they stand. Trust Members have always moaned about how the Trust is run but very few every look to try and change it. To change it you need to be involved with the Board. There are people on the Board that are now on and nearing the end of the 2nd term on the Board, some may even have started their 3rd. If you want to change it you need to stand for election at the AGM. In the past people have thought they could do change it but when they get on board they find that there is too few people in place to do the job the way they thought it could be don, too little new blood to try and get the changes they want through. When 'Flow and I were n the Board the Supporters Trust and the Supporters Assocaition were so far apart from each other. I hoped this was changing when they started working together for the Phil Memorial but I don't know. Frazzle and Tweed came on just before I had to leave as work commitments were taking over and I couldn't make meetings. They seemed to have a drive to get things done, starting with the Phil Memorial but if they have now left, even after getting another couple of bodies on board to help then I fear this might be the end of the Trust. One thing I will say for the folk on the Board is they do it for nothing, in their own time and they do it because they support Motherwell FC and want to help. There is a lot of small things that the Trust have helped out with over the years. They very rarely knock back anything that the Club ask for. They were asked to help out with the disabled section improvements by Ian Stillie and we said Yes, there was money already sitting in the Pitch In account which was set up for such projects and the idea was to start fundraising when the go ahead was officially given. Then Ian left and things went up in the air. So I don't know what the current situation is. Over the years, the club has asked for help with goals, kit bags, towels, tables for the physio etc and it's all been given. One of the youth teams was also sponsored. It all may sound like small things but they have helped relieve the financial burden on the club as it came out of administration and beyond. All this and more could be found on their website if it was working.
  16. Seeing as 'Flow is n here debunking rumours and spoiling our fun, JG and JB are in a secret bunker somewhere dealing with our new right back who is going to represent us at the draw to make sure it's done fairly and that the Celtic and Rangers balls are kept part?
  17. But we still haven't signed a right back, that'll give them something to complain about.
  18. Wonder if JG will be looking at Peter Gilbert from Oldham. Just seen he has been released by them as they can only offer him week to week terms. He's looking for a bit more stability. Would imagine he's someone that JG would know about as well. He's a left back as well, so if anything did happen and Hammy left it may be a possibility. The fact that he is now free agent would also mean he wouldn't have to be signed up today. No indication or inside knowledge, just noticed that he had been released. Wonder if another League One player may tempt JG. Profile
  19. The Express reports that both Dundee and Accies have tabled bids yesterday of around £40K but that Stevie has rejected the moves to stay and fight for his place and see out his contract.
  20. Already been mentioned in the Ins and Out threads as well as the Summer Transfers thread in Other Football.
  21. RIght that's enough time on this thread. Now closed.
  22. Good Luck to the Humphrey's hope everything is okay.
  23. I still haven't seen us playing this season. Car trouble on the way to the game has meant I've had to return home. I am absolutley gutted at missing this.
  24. I'll be missing yet another home tie, this time in Wrexham. looks like I'll be paying for Internet access tonight.

Looks like someone above has decided the best team ever was the team that won the '91 Cup. RIP Mowgli
