  1. After they saw it on my post when I pointed it out a couple of weeks back...
  2. That's bizzarre, I won just about that exactly for my six-fold and I had spurs too. Was jumping about like a fanny when Kammy shouted UNBELEIVABLE JEFF at the death! Seriously thought about Arsenal too and was gutted I hadn't put them on after 20 minutes
  3. That's a fair point actually However I still feel that we have been strung up a beauty and this guy isn't even a footballer. I mind saying on here (might be this thread, can't be arsed checking) that Stirling Albion signed a boy with a foreign name just because they thought it would be exiting, exotic and he would prob be better than some Scottish boy, turned out it was a Spanish tourist and when he got on for Albion didn't have a clue what to do, fell over the ball etc.. If Esteban Casagolda was a guy called Dave Smith and we signed him from the Scottish second division instead of the Belgian and he played like that last night people on here would be a LOT less lenient...
  4. The days of me hanging around a forum until silly o clock to see if the 1% chance of getting a complete no-body in is fulfilled are gone I'm afraid. I'm off to bed to read my book. Sad times.
  5. Yea we did, I'm pretty sure the deal was near enough done at one point. Pretty sure most of us were VERY underwelmed at the prospect of a Newcastle unknown! Imagine we had a potential £35,000,000 player at FP a couple of seasons back! In saying that, it's daft money. Doesn't even seem real the way these clubs throw what is essentially the net worth of the SPL around on ONE player. To me it would be UNBELIEVABLE news if Motherwell signed a player for £100,000, let alone half a million or a crazy £1,000,000. £10,000,000 is fairy tale stuff but £35,000,000 for a 21 year old Geordie and £50,000,000 (!) for an half decent Spaniard who is liable to go months unable to kick his own arse!?!?!?!? It will burst like fuck one day, it has to.
  6. Your patter is shocking. Miles oot anaw.
  7. It's only going to be yet ANOTHER random striker on loan no-one's heard of who will come in, get a game and head off on a wonderful career getting himself and his club lots of money and leaving him struggling to remember where Motherwell is on a map in a few years. Meanwhile OUR young strikers like McHugh, Pollok, Gary Smith will be a further 6 months behind. We DON'T need another loan Striker. The league is over. A scottish cup run apart what is the point in strengthening our team for 6 months? Let the young guys get involved in SPL games for the rest of the season and you never know we might have a couple of guys ready to take the SPL by storm next year.
  8. I can't be arsed going to many Motherwell games at the moment but the summer that Faddy comes back I would buy a Season Ticket and be at every game that season in a heartbeat. I've got a serious hard-on for that guy.

    Semi Final

I take it the ticket office at Hampden will be selling 'Well end tickets on Sunday up 'till kick off as well as Rangers ones? I will be going to this one, it IS a cup semi-final and no matter how bored and fed up we all are of Scottish fitba there is more reason to be at this than any league game coming up. I also don't buy the 'would rather get Europe again than win the League cup'. Mental. Winning a major tournament makes history, fannying about in Wales or Scandanavia in the summer holidays doesn't!

    Hibernian

Between: Stephen Craigan, Stevie Hammell, Steve Jones, Steve Jennings, Steven Saunders and Steven Meechan for me. Actual half our team are Steves. Mon the Steves.
  11. First of all wind your neck in. Remember we are only talking about a Football team here, a hobby a pass-time ffs, or are you one of the guys I suggested take Motherwell FC too seriously and hence why you are frothing at the mouth... Second of all it is not ok for me to use the often accepted exageration of 'he hasn't kicked a ball all season' remark but ok for you to come out with miles oot patter like 'rivers of pish' flowing through the east stand? What? Like a river as in the Clyde, the Forth? Of pish? In a stand, at the football? Seriously? An ACTUAL river of pish? Motherwell F.C's East Stand Pish River gets out of hand...... (if you squint your eyes enough the seat colours could be FP...) http://www.thestarphoenix.com/news/4096726.bin?size=620x400
  12. Seriously? Yes, yes they could. We could get relegated, go into admin, get the liquidators in and close. I think that's worse. What, sacked for an admin error? Hope your not some poor bastard's boss at work. Because of an Admin error? Ok then. JEEEEEZ lads. Fuxake calm doon. If you can't actually laugh at this you are taking Motherwell Football Club and football in general WAAAAAAAAY too seriously. So a wee cock up and we miss out on a player no-one has heard of who hasn't kicked a ball for a season. Whoop whoop. WHo gives a flying fuck?
  13. I say it every year but a much reduced season ticket is the way forward, like you say BOGOF or the much talked about 'Bradford' scheme albeit on a smaller scale. The summer is when to get folk in. There is ALWAYS an excitement and buzz pre-season. Punt dirt-cheap Season Tickets in the summer or risk 3000 crowds from now on in. Even getting, say £99 for a Season Ticket for the east stand is £99 more than nothing! The club CAN'T rely on anyone paying at the gate, as soon as we get the hump it is too easy to just 'leave it' for the rest of the season as many threads testify to now. Even in my own state of mind right now about Motherwell and the SPL (not good if you haven't reas my posts!) come the summer when I am kicking around itching my baws, bored, if Motherwell offered me a Season ticket for £99 I would take it and pop along to most of the games just because. I know a couple of mates who would sling Motherwell £99 easy just for something to do that don't go the now. My da would take one, so would my sister. There's £500 from my one little example. AS it stands next season it will be £0 or perhaps a couple of games from us. Think about how many other examples every single Motherwell fan no doubt has? This isn't me just wanting in for a few quid. I think it could work. If the club want they could offset this by throwing 2 or 3 quid onto the PATG price for any daft bugger that wants in. If the club are offering STs for a ton then you would be mental not to take it, even if you 'might' only go to 5 or 6 games. Interest free credit could be available too. Additionally why the club don't send someone round every school in Lanarkshire literally handing out free tickets is beyond me. A couple of hundred weans sitting in FP for free every couple of home games is better than a plastic seat sitting empty. Alternate the schools so the kids don't 'rely' on the freebies and maybe wander up themselves (with their parents and familes perhaps, kerching) if they get into it. Anyway, the jist of the matter is that football entry should be a nominal price. At the moment with so many people fed up and disillusioned the high price is enough to EASILY miss a game.
  14. Well that's it for me. I doubt I'll be at many if any SPL games at Fir Park for the forseeable future. I'll support 'Well in the cups and I'll still follow Scotland but in no way am I going to support the backward thinking, shitebag outfit that is the SPL. The SPL is complete shite. Same teams 4 times a season, repetitive. The Old Firm get to hump everyone at home FOUR times, not competitive. There was a chance, a big chance at this juncture to seriously overhaul the SPL. The 12 team league while still having to play most teams 4 times at LEAST gave something to aim for in the top 6 and you only played the shite 3 times. Are they expecting crowd averages to go up now there are MORE Motherwell v St Mirrens than before but with less chance of catching the Old Firm? Fucking game over. Well done SPL.
  15. Aye you say that but how many SPL clubs play in towns of 30,000 punters? None. I know there are other areas, Wishaw, Hamilton, Bellshill etc.. but this is just weegie overspill so basically our 'core' support has always come from the town. Even with a shite crowd yesterday is is over 10% of the town showing up for a game. That's the equivilent of 6,000 at a Stirling Albion match or 5,000 at an Ayr Urd game. But aye it is worrying but only because traditionally, all things considered we have always a very healthy support.
  16. Can I come? Subcrawls are fucking champion! Some of the shiteholes you end up drinking in are actually quality though as you wouldn't touch them any other day! You done it before? Mind get yourself a Pie, peas and gravy for 85p!! at the Bridge St Boozer (the one the other side of the road from Carling Acadamy) Watch how you go at the Govan one, that's a rough shop - thought we were getting chibbed when we bounced in there and went straight onto the Karaoke, you have to be 6 pints in for that sort of patter because that is extremely wanky behaviour when I think about it! Anyway, you are right, I used to never be able to imagine missing Saturday games. I would organise holidays, weekends away when we were away to Aberdeen or somewhere I wouldrarely go to. Nowadays if there is fluff in my belly button needing picked out then it is a good enough reason to stay on the couch and pick it rather than going to Fir Park.
  17. And it begins... Not often we fall below our 'core' of 4,000 odds for a run of the mill Saturday league game. But after plenty on here (myself included) admitting that it is just becoming a chore going to watch SPL football the crowd figure doesn't surprise me. With guys like Al B on this thread only going because the ST is paid up and considering chucking it, the next few seasons could see most league games played in front of 3,000 crowds. Scary times, Scottish football needs sorted. But the fact no fans are going to games is NO reason to make radical changes, is it SPL?
  18. I will be lucky if I pay £18 to Motherwell to watch a live game again considering the pish that is being served up in the SPL let alone giving them money for nothing! People need to get out of their heads that we owe anything to the football team that we like. That sort of thinking is part of the reason they can charge you half a shift's wages for a 90 minutes 'entertainment' when going to the cinema for example is a quarter of that price for the same length of time. We owe nothing to Motherwell, it is just a game at the end of the day. And Amber Nectar - sorry but are you tripping? You own a car franchise or something, stop bangin on about a fecking prize draw for a new car! Who the fuck will pay £30 for a 3000/1 chance of winning a Kia fucking Ceed or some shit?
  19. Really? I was under the impression Forbes played wide left, hence everyone banging on about how he is never a winger/unfit/too slow/runs like a rape victim etc... If we did line up like I suggested we should then forget it - we are fucked! Unless of course we sign a Left Winger. Although they seem as easy to find as rocking horse shit, we haven't had a proper one in bloody years!
  20. I'm willing to give Forbes at least 3 starts in centre mid to see/remind us of what he can do. Let's face it with players leaving all over the place and none likely to come in we have to start utilising him sooner or later. We all know that the league for us is as good as over - we won't make the top six never mind Europe and won't be near relegation. I would let McCall use the league to experiment and find our best team/shape for the cups and we may have more than 1 Hampden outing this year. I would like to see Forbes given a shot slightly at the tip of a Midfield 3. He is no winger and cant tackle either so no point sitting deeper. Let Lasley and Jenno sit infront of the back 4 remaining pretty solid. Humphrey and Murphy either side of Sutty in a front 3/midfield5 in defence. I honestly think, given what we have this is the way forward. McHugh looked decent in the wide/forward role give hime a shot out there too. ---------DR--------- SS---SC----MR----SH -----SJ------KL----- --------RF--------- -CH---------------JM --------JS---------- Something like that.
  21. Seriously We got beat 2-0 away to Dundee Utd. Who gives a fuck? The league's over for us this season, it is pish.
  22. He must be pure pish. 4-0 up at the weekend ,there McCall's been in the door a week and already has seen enough to bother putting him on for even 1 minute. My mate told me that Stirling Albion once got word of a Spanish guy that was looking for a club in the area, let's say his name was Juan Rodrigo Torres and they thought he would offer some 'exotic continental flair'. Turned out to be a holidaymaker staying in Scotland for a couple of months and he literally couldn't kick, trap, head or run with a football! He would fall over the ball, was knackered after 5 minutes and ran like a rape victim. This guy played in front of fans and everything! Motherwell's Esteban Casagolda is our very own version of Stirling Albion's 'Juan Rodrigo Torres'
  23. Fucking champion draw all round. Also should put an end to the chronic patter on one of these threads every single year about 'hot balls' and the OF being kept apart early on. It's the luck of the draw min. Personally I hope we get Stenny and I see them as favourites too as they will be at home against Stranraer should they beat Threave. Also, the usual mad chat about ticket scramble? Anyone who wants to go the Stenny or Stranraer will be able to, even if you are in the 'home' end - but at these grounds you can usually wander about anyway. No panic whatsoever. Will be a great day out wherever we end up though!! A much needed wee boost all round is the Scottish (and CIS) cup this year!
  24. Very, very good performance. Needed that. The thing I enjoyed most was Motherwell putting in a very good show on LIVE TV Great for Murph and Sutts to get goals too.
