  1. Like the pun - if you meant it. The thing is - some on here would have you believe that Humphrey is more than enough to replace JOB and we need no-one else in!! Fact remains - no-one in our team can ghost past a player even once in a match. O 'brien might not have got a goal-making final ball in every time but he mast have got attacked the last man 7 or 8 times a match. NO-ONE can do that in our team. Not our 'square ball' centre mid trio of Las, Jenno and Forbes. Or Jamie 'Cut Back' Murphy - no-body. Every team needs that outlet, the 'give and go' guy. We now don't have it. We need to get it. End of.
  2. I have started to realise that most people who are so naturaly gifted at football didn't actually have an interest in it at school or when they were growing up. Despite most players saying 'I supported my boyhood heroes _________'... when they sign for them it rarely means that they went every week and could ryhme off the first 11 for the last 10 years. With regards to Faddy and Celtic - the way I see it is that Faddy has held off this move for as long as he can - if he wanted to play for Celtic it would have happened by now - prob two and a bit years into his Everton career when things weren't working out. But he stuck at it and realised that not only is the Premiership the honeypot but it is where you get taken seriously as a solid pro - and playing a disciplined succesful roll in a good Birmingham City team will have proved himself to be more than a tricky kid with some flair and a swagger. Finally, as the posterboy for the International team Faddy has been and will be truly adored by all in Scotland. For hime to sign for either half of the Old Firm instantly means that almost half the country go from loving you to hating you - madness!!! Na, next time Faddy is playing in the SPL it will be at the new Ravenscraig Stadium in it's maiden season playing for his REAL boyhood heroes in Season 2016
  3. Really? Funniest ever?? Not that 'funny' then...
  4. An absurd comparison!! O' Brien must have won us as many penalties as Smith scored goals never mind his own 4 goals. How many goals did he assist in - either crossing it in or taking the ball down field purely on his own? Opposition fans and managers had him down as our main dangerman - not unfounded opinions. O' Brien must have contributed to at least 30 Motherwell goals in the last 2 seasons. Like the guy who has the highlights on his phone said there is fact to back this up! Fraud of a footballer? If you are calling the most naturally gifted footballer we have had in 2 years, someone who picks the ball up and runs at people and generally never gave up chasing if he got brushed off the ball a fraud, I wonder what you call some of the less talented pros at the club!!
  5. A full house or near it would be tremendous considering the size of your town - is it about 45,000? This would be similar to our first game in Europe for 13 years when we sold 11500 tickets for the game against Nancy two years ago. Now we are used to being in Europe so less fans see it as a big deal . Also I was in Norway last summer for the Scotland game in Olso - we went to see a local team - Skeid (we though it was AMAZING it is pronounced 'SHITE' in English!!) We were shocked at the poor attendance though in what was a lovely big stadium in a big City - I guess everywhere has its problems of fans only supporting the bigger teams. Anyway - loved the team, they had Arild Stavrum as their Manager and he was great - he came down to the pub all the Scottish fans who had bought tickets for the game were drinking in and had a pint with us BEFORE the game!! Maybe why they lost...and he was then sacked... Legend, and the hospitality in Oslo and at Bisslet for the game was outstanding - love how you can go out to the local boozers for a pint at half time!! Altogether now - SA SA SA BRA BRA BRA SKEID SKEID SKEID!!! (still have no idea what that means !)
  6. To be honest? 10th and a Cup Semi final would be a happy season. Im bored of Europe and it's not like finishing Top 6 gets us extra home games against the Old Firm OR gives us money to spend on the squad does it?
  7. Spot on. I am a little disillusioned myself to be honest. We have lost loanees, yes and can replace them to beef the squad up. BUT we have lost a key player in O ' Brien and we aren't doing anything to get someone in on a permenant basis. We have also lost Coke but he was essentially a loan of him for a year. Our squad needs one or two 'Motherwell Players' that can settle into the team for 2 years or so. With big John Sutton (going to be a MASSIVE player for us this year - who knew?!) in his last year of contract we could be going into January with only one recognised 'Forward' at the club for the forseeable in Jamie Murphy, with McHugh still to prove himself- that worries me! Loans to replace Coke and Juke, fine but Boyle, Brown, whoever - get ONE forward/winger in full time - not too much to ask for is it!!
  8. I like it how you lower yourself to the level of 17 year old ned kids when discussing them. Also on your point about McCart, I would love it if you or any of your mates were are a manager of a company, moved to a higher position at a better paying company and when you were looking for new staff didn't employ staff who used to work for you and who you knew had the skills you were after. Nah, of course you wouldn't do that - and if any of your mates did - you would be calling them c***s, wouldn't you?
  9. Still, it proves that sometimes we can be the big club and take players from smaller clubs for pennies but when it happens to us people spit the dummy...
  10. Funny that you mention him... Didn't we 'poach' Hutch from a wee club, and Page too then immediately loan them back out - Page to Stirling. Seems it is ok when we are the big team stealing players from wee clubs to invest in their future...
  11. I'm sorry Steve but that's a pretty small-minded and frankly subordinate way of thinking. Paul Slane coming in for 6 months or a year would benefit our team to the tune of league points or Europa League progression - look at how he waltzed through games against European lightweights last year - I saw no-one in our team dancing their way through Thirsday night, did you? Yes, the guy is far from a perfect human being but surely we can rise above that instead of calling him a wee fucker and make the best out of a possible decent opportunity. He obviously still has some ties and some affinity with Motherwell - I don't think it is out of the question that he could return - and while there isn't a queue of tricky, skillfull and fast wingers snaking along Fir Park street wanting in I think it would be folly to turn the chance down.
  12. Well it can't be delayed transmission as it says live? Time difference is 1 hour behind so Kick off should be 2015 here not 2215 - maybe it is a typo?
  13. Wonder if he would consider a loan back to us - seeing as he has made such an impact at Celtic...
  14. I'm wondering what game many saw? On here I have read Humphrey was looking good, Jenno was shite and Forbes was/is murder. Firstly our good players: I thought Jenno ran the show in the middle and bossed the game for us!! My mate who was a neutral at the game thought the same!! Forbes never wasted a single pass all night and got us the winner!! And also how good was it to see guys like Reynolds and Hammell make us look like the composed professional team - both boys were VERY comfy last night. If it wasn't for Hammell's stinker every 4 games he seems to have he would have reached FAR higher heights in the game than Motherwell and Southend. Secondly - Jury STILL out on Humphrey. Against part timers that Keith LASLEY dribbled the ball round he still couldn't beat a man coming inside. Sprint - By line - ball out of play - every time. Come on - it isn't hard to aim for the keeper with an outswinger that will pop it into the danger zone. A goal, a win and a clean sheet. That's what Nancy got against us - if we do what they did in their away leg, score first - it will be all over and we can maybe even rattle a few in.
  15. The reality is most people look at a section of crowd and say 'That's full' when it is a cast iron guarentee there will be single seats or two spare amongst it - usually between groups of friends. If a section of the east looks 'Full' and has a capacity of say 500 then you will be lucky if it has 450 in it. Multiply that thrughout the ground and that accounts for the 2000 odd 'missing' punters at a big game.

They'll be somebody's 'Season Ticket Seat' . You will be telt to beat it....
  17. Giddy for the mora now! Going to sit and play Football Manager untill 5 am, crawl into bed until lunchtime, wake up and jump on a train to Glasgow for some scran and many many many pints while most of you mugs clock watch in the office and draw up formations on post-its. Then onto JDs for more pints!! Gotta love the summer holidays!!

    South Stand

3 Full stands is about 8000 is it no'? Would be VERY surprised if we get that - double our average home gate!! I was thinking over 5K pushing 6K would be good going!!
  19. So we have 6 minutes to get an 'Emergency' Striker or 'O'Brien Replacement' in for the Euro games. Chances?

    Tickets

Aye? He would be a great signing!
  21. Be angry all you want but is simple economics, supply and demand. Why would a profit-making, customer pleasing TV company show St Johnstone v Motherwell to keep, what 5000 subscribing, paying fans happy when they could show Dundee Utd v Rangers, Motherwell v Celtic, Kilmarnock v Rangers and keep 100,000+ paying fans happy? This year they have even tuned into the fact that the Edinburgh clubs have a large Nation wide potential audience so feature one of them when the Old Firm aren't on. In fact not one of the games picked has none of the Glasgow and Edinburgh clubs. It sucks - but it makes perfect sense.
  22. We really have a stunning turnaround in fan-club relations - by just making use of a medium that's been on the go for a decade!
