So we are replacing EITHER Lukas OR O'Brien. That is two HUGE players to replace. Can't believe we are only looking to get 1 replaced. For me IF I had to choose I would say a left winger is more essential than a Striker. Forbes can't play left mid worth a fuck and McHugh while not ready 100% will do a job up front. Also - what was the point of the RB trialist at Forfar when we have 3 right backs including Hately?
-
We ripped Brechin apart in the Second Half on Tuesday night so I don't know how you can say 'we have not nearly pumped anyone'!! Unless of course you are just rage bashing mindless nonsense into the computer with no facts behind what you are saying whatsoever so it suits the point you are trying to make.....

^^ That's a very good idea. Try and get 18 local companies to part with, say £4950, and for that they get guaranteed 'Match Ball' sponsorship - with the programme advertising and corporate prawn sarnie munching that comes along with it. The 18 also get entered into a prize draw with 1 lucky company being our main shirt sponsor. It will give us almost 100 grand and should be shooty in gettin 18 lanarkshire companies to part with what is a measly sum in the grand scheme of corporate marketing. They get guaranteed exposure with the chance of a real bargain. And 90 odd grand for us is better than nothing - a couple of player's wages really.

And to be fair I would suggest that a player would be worth signing if they change a game three or four times a season let alone 19 points worth. So yea, Shukes should be offered a 2 year contract imo- Looks very handy on the ball, knows what to do around certain areas of the park, is very keen and will offer us a wee edge to our team. He'll do for me!!

To be fair you don't have to be Jose Mourinho to see that the guy wasn't fast, strong, couldn't beat a man, or run the channels and his shooting was abysmal over 180 minutes...

I would agree with every word of that. I would add that Meechan looks OK in the middle - bit of a bruiser in there!! I also thought Bob McHugh had a good game - better than the Spaniard and I would be content with Sutts (going to be a huge player for us this year) and McHugh up front for the Icelandic game. Defo need another Striker in though long term!!

It was a flat three to start with in midfield with a 'McGhee' three pringed attack up top. Plenty of overlapping by the fullbacks, esp Hammy gave us width. I could be wrong but I thought after Murphy went off we went to 4-4-2 with Shuker right mid and Forbes Left mid.

Why do you bother being a Motherwell fan - you are sounding like a Man Yoo armchair fan! Why go to ANY Motherwell game when you can sit in your house or pub watching world class players in the Premiership on a Saturday? Why go to Midweek cup games when you can watch champions league? I couldn't give a fuck if the 22 best players in the world were playing on the telly - going to a game in person is what it is all about. We were 2 and a half feet away from some of the play yesterday - that is watching football. Don't get all big shot on Motherwell fans calling them sad for going to a MOTHERWELL GAME. We have seen 61 World Cup games in a month and 0 Motherwell games - maybe it was time for a change for some, eh? And as for the game, some of the players looked tidy for an early season game. Forbes back to his best with a screamer. Jenno and Lasley were accomplished in the middle. I too thought the wee winger trialist was heaven and really involved - prob worth another look just to make sure but I'm afraid the big Spanish coo up front wasn't ideal. Give him another game on Thursday to be fair but I hope we have other 'Striker Irons' in the fire.

'Cos he has a foreign name....?

Looking forward to this the day. Finally the 'Well are back!! (Although this has been the quickest pre-season ever!!) Hope to see the Spanish Striker on show and who knows he might be skillful, quick and powerfull - or he could be completely munter of a footballer!! Also hoping to see Humphrey tear up the brechin defence tonight - we will be relying on him more than we would hope next season to create chances and offer us an edge to our team so you would hope he looks the part against a Second division team. Going to saunter up in a couple of hours, go for a couple of jars and a cheeckie chippie for ma tea! (heard that they do Bacon Suppers up that way !)

Hope we get a good team for the big man. I actually think we we might get more of a crowd for him if we just play a Motherwell v Motherwell Legends game. If we can get Faddy involved for 45 minutes it will practically guarantee a 5000+ crowd. Pretty sure Lambert, Boyd et al could be sweet talked into it. Craigan is well respected in the game I'm sure alot of pros would come forward for him. I know I would rather pay a tenner to see something like this than a friendly against Partick Thistle on a wednesday night in October.

I reckon he is a stick on to give Randolph the Brechin game and Hollis the Forfar game, prob back to Randolph for Ayr. I have a feeling too that seeing as this is the first game he will give most of what he thinks is his starting XI at the moment a game to see how it shapes up, with plenty of subs later on and changes for the Forfar game.

I think it is actually very shrewd by granpaw Broon. We have 1, (One!) sellable asset and he is letting everyone know that we need to sell him to improve dramatically. This lets JB in on Broon's struggle with the budget and plays down our chances to our competitiors (we do best as underdogs) Also by using his pal Billy he links him to a club that wont ridicule Reynolds or us (by saying Mark Who?) and if they were interested wouldn't rip the pish out of us either. And if no-one wants him we get to keep Mark Reynolds - win win really!! Great piece of PR I reckon and it even got Billy Davies saying to the press what a great player Mark was, just he had other targets!!

Preference shares?
-
And Page too after a great season at Stirling Albion. I think we are sorted at the back. (Even if Reynolds leaves) We NEED a Striker We WANT an O'Brien replacement (winger/Wide Mid/Forward type guy) I don't think we need to replace Coke though to be fair - just give Lasley a game with Hately/Forbes and Jenno fighting it out for Midfield. Humphrey needs to take his chance at Right Mid too. But if no-one comes in for left mid I have the fear - Forbes to play there all season?
-
Is that a bit of Lanarkshire twang in there already? Also, take it the Spanish boy didn't work out?
-
If we were 500 to 1 to get 3rd OR 4th OR win the Scottish Cup OR Lose in the cup final to a top 3 team I would be sticking more than a £1 on!! I would empty my savings on it and have a chance of retiring at 26!!!

Were there punters with flares again?
-
And for the sake of getting a sponsor would you be happy at gettin something like 'Craigneuk Keystore' on our strips for the sake of 12 grand? I'm sure we can get 'a' sponsor - we are just holding out for £50-85K I reckon and not wasting time with offers below that.
-
Noticed that as well!! Take it that is there nickname, like Steelmen. Wonder if our Icelandic pal can enlighten us to what it is all about!!
-
Eh It's an away top! No-ones away top is 'unique' to their club. Barca's are pink, bright blue, orange and yellow these days!! We have the most 'Traditional' home top in years - amber with a claret hoop - with no extra 'template' design details as it is custom made to look like a Motherwell top and you are whinging because the away one isn't 'Motherwell' enough? Moaning for the sake of it i think....

Top darts, the pair of them!! Nice and easy, kept it simple, it is the 'untouchables' Faddy one by a decent make.
