Of course it is!!! Look at Shrewsbury Town. They play in a brand new 'SPL' style ground that is bigger than some SPL teams and in better condish than ours. They have a similar if not higher average attendance and pay the same basic wage. The benefits the SPL DOES have over League 1/2 is it has more (slightly all the same) media/press exposure than the little leagues down there as the goldfish bowl effect extends around the English counties only, not the whole country like up here. There is more chance of European Football/Cup runs further enhancing reputation and you get to play at two big fuck off stadiums a few times a year. But apart from that, Motherwell Vs Shresbury Town? You are kidding yourselves on if you think we are the bigger team.

Happy days!! Very impressed that we are offering a 3 year deal to someone who has been on a prem team's radar!! Btw, is he South African?? Sun says so but he was born in Walsall
-
This the Humpherey boy? Nade, the defender and Humphreys? God, we will be winning the Europa league now with these black boys according to Nancy!! For what it is worth I would love it if we signed big Nade. Very powerfull player. With just the one up front in Gannons formation he would fit the bill.
-
This is good news out the blue!! Hope we get him, it is the 3 year deal that exites me, that and Villa were after him AND he is the winger type we are needing in the squad.
-
Na, just guys who might play for us for more than 6 months.
-
Looking now at the VAST difference in quality between our CCC tops and the Pompey/Lille tops it surely it is obvious to even the biggest fans of the top that CCC tried to make them on the cheap to save a precious few bob. Shocking stuff.

Good to see some names being branded about. I will take in a couple of loan deals no problem but one or two of the signings MUST be signed on two year deals. We NEED to get some 'Motherwell' players in to give us a bit of stability. Apart from one or two tied to the club the rest can be 1 year deals and loans but we need to go out and get one or two "Motherwell Players"

JUST BACK !!! Llanelli was magic. Camping for two nights down there, tremendous. Done the all nighter on the beach at the campsite, done a crate of Stella in with BEESHER and Ross (I think ) - Alright LADS!! Then at 4 in the morning me and my mate had to get a taxi, two trains and a bus to Cardiff Airport to fly up to edinburgh for T in the park. WHAT a Week/Weekend!! I am a filthy jaike ball though so off to take a bath!!

I actually just cracked up reading this thread. Completely dying, it is so chronic!!!!

Neither is a BOE note 'legal tender' though. No note is, they are all just a promise.

Is it quicker to go all the way down the M5 and then over the Severn Bridge or Quicker taking the M5 then M50 down through Wales to Cardiff then re-join the M4? Cheers anyone! Definately Buzzing like a broken fridge now!!! 9 hours 20 minutes 'till I Leave!!!!

I know he is hardly flavour of the month but I would go with Darren Lee Smith up front with Sutton. He is at least a bit bigger/grown up than Murphy and will beat their defence for pace all day long he has more chances of winning headers than Murphy too. I would maybe play Murphy on the right mid/Forward position and O'Brien on the left with Slane coming on for him. Fitzy and Forbes in the middle for me anawl, Lasley had his chance and blew it big time. Defence picks itself, unfortunately. We need to go for it, from the start and this is about as attacking as we can get. ------------Fraser------------ Saunders--Craigan-Reynolds-Hammell ---------Forbes--Fitzy------------- -----------------------------O'Brien/Slane --Murphy ---------DLS----Sutton A Sutton goal after 8 minutes and we are on our way to a 4-0 win!!!
-
Magic, nearly there!! Had yesterday and the day off to fanny about getting ready - it has flown in!! Heading down tommorow at 6 AM. Picking up my dad, sister and mate in the Shire and away we go!! Two nights camping then me and my mate are flying up on Friday morning to meet other folk at Edinburgh Airport to go to T!! Canny wait, I'm like a wee boy at Christmas!!! It is going to be SOME 5 days!! Lager, Cider, Cider, Cider, Super Noodles and Haribos all packed up and ready to go!! Oh and Ibuprofen anawl!! Everyone else starting to buzz like a broken fridge!?
-
He is a riot of a journo. Canny go him at all!!
-
All the best coach. Glad we got money in and hopefully will get an experienced RB in and not rely on Saunders who is just too young the now.
-
I reckon Reynolds at Left Back (Hopefully) Forbes in the middle (he plays 3 in the middle so we need one 'Well' player at least) And maybe 2 of Slane/Sutton/O'Brien That would be 4.
-
I can agree with some of this mate but I'm not sure we can go about getting rid of players - who will take them!! We can;t just 'release' them so I'm going to suggest who stays in the Starting XI, the matchday squad. U19s for a bit longer and finally release if we can/keep in the reserves if we can't. Fraser: We DO need another experienced (ish) 'keeper in to battle for the number 1, if nothing else it will bring the best out of Fraser, you don;t want a 'Keeper who knows he is starting every week even if he is off form. Starting XI / Matchday Squad Saunders: Your argument for Murphy and Saunders contradict each other. Both are just wee boys who ARE NOT READY yet you are happy to play Saunders who is 'anorexic' but not Murphy for the same. A full back needs to be stronger than a forward like Murphy so if anyone is dropped for being too light (at the moment) it has to be Saunders. We need an experienced grown man of a RB to replace Quinn. U19s/Matchday Squad Craigan: We need his experience around the squad, no doubt but aye, I wouldn't be adverse to a big fuck off centre half coming in too. Starting/Matchday Squad Reynolds: If we bring in another CB then I think we have potentially one oif the best even Left Backs in the country in Marky. He is fast, can tackle out wide (is always caught out in the middle but his covering tackles are immense!) and can header better than Hammell. Marky for Left back!! Starting - but at Left Back!! Hammell: Unless we get an offer in Hammell could be a decent enough cover for Left Back AND perhaps Left Mid. His days as a starter for Motherwell have to be over though if we want to change the same old same old pattern of play. MAtchday Squad Murphy: Just a wee boy and doesn't seem to have the 'Wirey-ness' of previous wee boy successes like Faddy and Clarky. Not ready - U19's for another year and benched for a Saturday just in case. U19s/Matchday Squad Lasley: Not good enough. Too slow, poor passing range, can't EVER shoot or score. He is ok in the tackle SOMETIMES but not sharp enough for Centre Mid, too slow for out wide, not big enough for Defensive Mid can't shoot or display any skill for Attacking mid. A MIDFIELDER?? Yet, I like him but it is do or die and he has to go as it would be a waste of a wage in the reserves. Offload/Reserves Forbes/Slane: VERY impressed. Great on the ball both of them and should be in and out the starting XI this season. Not definate starters but ALL OVER the match day squad every week. Starting XI/ Matchday Squad McGarry: I'll agree he offers very little. He is blowing oot his arse EVERY week. Offload IF someone will take him Offload/Reserves O'Brien: I''ll disagree here. While he can be frustrating he DOES have some natural ability and if he can sort his crossing we have a player on our hands. We aren't exactly brimming with forward talent so it would be folly to let him go. Contract up next year anyway so he will do untill JG builds his own squad. Starting/Matchday Squad Sutton: Again, the only Striker we have and he has two years left on a deal. IF we get another good forward in I have no doubt he will nick us 10-15 goals this season. He CAN score goals. He can't play on his own up front. Matchday Squad Fitzy: Squad player for ANOTHER YEAR? I don't know, perhaps he does have it. The only problem no-one really knows his position. Offload/Reserves DLS: Must be garbage if an out-and-out Forward couldn;t get on the park on Thursday night!! Game over Darren, which is ashame. Offload/Reserves So we NEED: Anyway needed: 1 Keeper 2 Defenders- New Centre Half, and a new RIGHT BACK (Reynolds can play LB) 2 Midfielders - We have Jennings. We need a Klimpl replacement and a Left Mid. 2 Strikers- Basically we need to replace Clarky AND Porter/McCormack That would be SEVEN signings and I can't see any more than that mate, certainly not the TEN you were suggesting, unfortunately!

Realistic Scores For Away Legg < See What I Did There?
Juan Kerse replied to jonnymfc's topic in Club Chat
Who is gona score for us and how are we going to score?? I can't answer these questions myself but they are ringing round my head!! Despite being unable to answer them and ignoring my head telling me they will win 1-0 AGAIN next week I think we might just do it and win 2-0 -
Now go and lie down in a quiet darkened room!! You will give yerself a Heart Attack, it's only a game of football min!!
-
Aye, this is ONLY half time and we are 1-0 down. We will outnumber and outsing the Welsh down there so it isn;t really a tough 'away' game. It will be pretty much the same as last night - a Neutral venue but we will all be in a singing holiday mood - hopefully. That should spur the boys on. Also, positive for me is when he brought Slane on. I really liked the look of him last summer - but McGhee was too arrogant to play young players. It seems like guys like Slane and Forbes could be a part of Gannon's plans.
-
Was it just me who thought the fact that Darren Smith and Fitzy STILL couldn't get a geme last night spreaks volumes about their ability and future? Basically Gannon's taken one look at them and is playing 16/17 year olds in a Euro game before them!! Incidentaly, last night - if there is any positives then it will be the panick button being pressed on signing in at LEAST two forward players ASAP. We couldnae score in a barrell of fannies!
-
To be honest it wont be much of a loss if it was just the reported 1 year deal. We are trying to build a squad and a bit of stability, if this guy came in and was the business he would be away by January - what sort of stability is that??
-
So if this 'Six' is indeed the amount he is 'allowed' to bring in, what positions should they be? In my opinion we were a Left winger short last season (like the last 5 seasons!! ) and we were a Striker short when Ports left. Quinn isn't away yet so we can replace him with a RB if/when he officially leaves. That leaves us with the following REQUIRED. In order of essential-ness -(imo) Striker - To replace Clarky Centre Mid - Attacking (Could be Jennings from Tranmere?) - To replace Hughes Centre Half - A big fuck off wan at that. - To replace McLean Goalkeeper - 1 isnae enough!! Centre Mid - Defensive -To replace Klimpl/Boab Left Winger/Forward - As Jimbo likes to be flexible this 'other' Striker could be in the McCormack mould who can play wide too. Theres yer six players and that would do me!!!
-
I wouldn't mind a couple of friendlies at lower league grounds around the central belt. I'm sure we could ask any number of teams about an hour or two away from Motherwell for a geme, even on a Monday night. It is something to do so I'm sure a good few 'Well fans will go out and it will give their club some cash. Surely we could ask the likes of Stirling Albion, Dumbarton, Alloa or even Albion Rovers for a geme?
-
Totally. Even last year we were a Left Midfielder and a Striker short of a full squad. We have to find these players PLUS replace the ones that left. If one or two of these gaps are filled from youth then fair doos but we still need lots of bodies in!! This guy sounds decent enough, could be our 'Dorman'
