  1. Good videos, Gannon speaks well and noticed the almost purposefull effort to say he wants the best for Motherwell and NOT himself!! Obviously he knows if we do well so will he!! Still, patter like this and not the opposite keeps us fickle fans happy!! That right Mr McGhee? Anyway, the BBC clip on the streets of Motherwell is quality patter! It seems shockingly bad to fins a Motherwell fan on the streets of, ... Motherwell. Brandon Parade - Who the hell is Jim Gannon?
  2. Yes it will. They are our only two Strikers. I am not normally like this but did you HAVE to start a thread to ask which two, of our only two Strikers will play?
  3. Excellent!!! If you get the cost right (although obviously keeping a nice margin for LAFC) it could be the kind of thing that EVERYONE would end up wanting one of. I reckon people would be more than happy to part with a tenner for a T-Shirt or Scarf. Even pricing in a bit below that, perhaps £8 and it would be a price people would pay without thinking about it for a cracking wee souvenier!! (Although obviously I get a T-Shirt free as it is my idea ! Also, the weather is looking to be brilliant so make sure there is PLENTY provision for a beer garden. (The pitch? )
  4. It is going to be an exciting summer for 'Well fans. After endlessly an extremely tedius month or so reading about grass and football tops we could be looking at a new signing every week untill the SPL kicks off!! That, AND we have competitive fitbaw' every week. With most other clubs able to sign one or two players AT MOST (including Aberdeen - Says theri charman ) and playing friendlies we are the envy of alot of fans this summer!! Good times to be a 'Well fan!!!
  5. Just a suggestion, but if you got some scarfs or T-Shirts made up with the two club badges on them, date of game etc.. I know for a fact loads of fans would buy them and you could make a good few bob or two for your club. I'm sure these could be knocked up in a week or so!! A stall selling this sort of thing plus pin badges etc.. would do you no harm!!
  6. Nope just what you said!! The ONLY future we have is to get away from the rotting and corroding FP. I mean that in both the tangible and financial sense. A new, prob sponsored complex with NO annual repair bills and MORE income through sports facilities, bars, conference rooms, better hospitality etc.. is really, 100% a no brainer..
  7. Me too but it is just the romanticism of Davie and Motherwell FC that is all. If you think about the money we have in for him, the fact he would be likely leaving next season or in Jan anyway and the likelihood that we will get a Striker in who in footballing terms is as good or better than him and will score the 12 or 13 that Davie chips in it is a very good deal for us!
  8. Done a bit of research on the Stockport players we have been 'linked' with in the Sun today. ALL of them are defenders, Michael Reynes, Johnny Mullins and Josh Thomson. Josh Thomson looks the business, 6 foot 4 and looks like he is built like a shit hoose. Seems to be premiership potential and has had trials with a couple of teams. If we can nick this guy it could be a bit of a coup! We will prob end up with their 'keeper too - Owain Fon-Williams.
  9. ^^ Good to know mate, cheers! You heard if any SC players will follow him up too? Oli Johnson for example? Any rumours doing the rounds?? Cheers!!
  10. Surely this deserves a thread outwith the mindless transfer speculation thread!? The pictures of him in the Bristol City shirt are boak inducing!! Davie is and always will be OUR player. Not often you get a guy who gives 8 seasons to a club and not once utters a bad word about the club! No asking for bigger moves, NEVER is the press acting like the billy big baw bag so many young footballers do. Davie is a class act. It isn't often you get a player who has so much emotional attachment to the club and witnessing him with the 'Well scarf on coming over to our support at Hearts was the most emotional football moment in ma puff. Perhaps that is why he needs to leave actually, he will always have that emotional attachmnet to the club. That aside though, Davie was quite simply a Motherwell player, who loved the club he got his break with. He seemed to love every goal like it was his first and last, no arrogance about him at all. Welcome back anytime, I'm sure we all know we will be showing up in the first game at the new stadium in 2016 to witness two particular Old Favourites line up for the 'Well once more. Davie and James, make it happen Anyway, all the best DC - Ledgend!!
  11. Was going to splash out the £45 or whatever on this top before going down to Wales. Tbh I was stretching my budget really to cover the cost of the new top but reckon I'll not bother if it is shite and have me an extra 45 lager vouchers for down there!!!

I seen those in a Sports Soccer (or whatever it is called these days) shop. The quality and feel of the fabric on that Lille top is outstanding. It has all the piping and additional materials on the sleeve ets.. Why are we being ripped off? The Lille top was 10 times better quality and only £30!!
  13. You need yir hole min!! And the one I highlighted!! Aye, I constantly gaze around the east stand at folks just twitching aff their tits all game at sitting in a seat without their name on it!!!
  14. Harsh. Bristol City are a diddy team. We are in Europe. Again. City in Europe?

You got the full strip? I didn't know 6 year old boys could use the Internet!
  16. Right big yin, get some signings in - NOW!!!!
  17. This screams to me as JB trying to pull another rabbit out the hat by looking past the 'big names' of Sanchez, Boothroyd et al. It might prove to be another cute piece of business from the guy and would certainly prove he can spot a good manager. Gannon ticks all the traditional boxes, having worked with a shoe-string budget at Stockport and showing faith in youth (which McGhee did NOT btw and we don't have the next batch of Clarkys, Quinns and Renoldses ready yet!!) and he prefers to play football too. Thing is though, this summer we will actually HAVE a decent budget and need to go out and buy and sign at least SIX or SEVEN players if Clarky goes - More if Quinn and Reynolds go too. Is Gannon the man who has the contacts and market experience to pull off such a recruitment drive?? I don't know.
  18. You never know, we have been and still are very patient with Clarkson, poor first touch - sometimes poor decisions, second rate finishing etc.. as we have an affinity and bond with him and he does with the club too. Other 'random' fans might not be so forgiving......... ..This could see him back at FP with his tail between his legs and while we would have oor lad back I for one hope that doesn't happen and he has a great career and comes back to us to finish on a well earned and emotional high - with Faddy, in our new stadium
  19. Me and my mate were struggling to get back for T from Wales so we are now getting a lift down, staying on the Wed night and then just boozing all night on the Thur after the game and getting the Red-Eye from Cardiff airport to Edinburgh at 7 in the morning!! In Edinburgh for Half 8 in the morning, up at T for 10, drinking tins of T by 5 past 10!! Going to be a carnage five days, but this is what you work for!! And ye can sleep when yer deid!! Amazingly, what makes all this possible is a Train from Llanelli - Cardiff Airport (few changes tho) at 3 in the morning!!! It was as if we have chartered a train, it is perfect!! So if you are struggling, I would batter into these flights, BMI btw
  20. That one is actually not bad compared to the Nemo wan!! I didn't 'Lol' but I didn't slam my head of my keyboard either!!
  21. When we do change the whole structure and interior of our 'house' though it will be a shame to put the same old cushions in it though.....
  22. Great post Al and it actually got me on side with you - things COULD work out great here. Say if it is Nijholt that gets the gig he will have the money, wages and space in the squad to perhaps work a few favours and get a good three or four young Dutch guys in and perhaps one or two astute signings from down south or whatever - it could be the difference and change that we are after. What worries me though is that it is ALL key players that are being moved on and the dead-wood (so to speak) that is staying behind. So we will still have the same duffers who weren't good enough before with new players around them. THAT is a scary thought. If it was McGarry, Fitzpatrick and even Lasley moving on I would buy in to what you are saying 100%. When it is your International Striker, your Ex -Captain, and your most promising youngster heading out the door along with the most creative player in the team, number 1 goalie and fans favourite allready with the door slammed shut behind them it is clear to see why folks are a little twitchy!!
  23. Totally. Had to work, was absolutley gutted about missing Nancy. Beside those vids on Youtube there are ones of the March to the stadium - this single football related thing I wish I was at - looked IMMENSE!!!! Al the frogs hinging oot the windaes and all the dossers just waving like royalty and giving them the thimbs up is quality!!! All over Wales though and hope it is even as half as good as the videos and stories of Nancy!!
  24. 4 of us at the moment! = 108
  25. But we would need to replace those two with that money and THEN go about getting the five or SIX signings we STILL need. I don't know if £800,000 can get you an International Striker on £2000 a week!!
