I remember my Grampa saying that he was one of the best players he had seen. RIP
-
Well maybe some more than others. But we really need someone of Luc's standard.
-
In addition he is now assistant to Co Adrianse. I understand what you are saying Melvin, but that is a risk we would have with all candidates.
-
Found this on Luc, a bit out of date but not bad. His CV in Holland includes being assistant to former Holland and Barcelona boss Luis Van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar, where they reached a UEFA Cup semi-final in 2005. Nijholt has been manager of Dutch second division side Stormvogels Telstar for the past one a half seasons, taking the smallest club in the country up to third in the table. Playing career: Haarlam, AZ Alkmaar, Utrecht, BSC Old Boys Basle, Motherwell, Swindon, FC Volendam. Managerial career: FC Volendam (player-coach and academy coach), AZ Alkmaar (under 16, 17, 20 and 23 coach, assistant manager), Stormvogels Telstar (manager).

Luc would be my choice, Well legend, European experience, good contacts in the UK and Europe and he said previously that he wanted the job. Please not Williamson or the likes.
-
Aberdeen boards got him going there.

I stand corrected. A mixture of frustration and nerves for the new season has obviously confused my recollection However the point remains we were subject to all of this shite last season and here we are yet again only this season we have players out of contract and a European game to play in less than 4 weeks time.
-
What has that got to do with anything, the contract he agreed meant nothing, he then went on to meet Romanov at least twice before deciding not to get on that plane, he spent some considerable time considering the move to Hearts going as far as agreeing a deal for him and Leitch, during that time I doubt the preparations for our season were upmost in his thoughts. It wasn't until he decided not to go that the business of getting us ready for the new season started, the trailists that were here only arrived prior to the pre season games. Not a load of auld shite mate, and not twisting anything to suit anyone. This didn't suit me then and it sure as fuck doesnt suit me now.
-
I was talking about last season, when we did nothing in the transfer market until McGhee decided not to go to Hearts and then we brought in trialists in a late attempt to add something to our squad. The point being that then as now we had to wait on another clubs interests being resolved before we could deal with our own. A complete lack of preparation and nothing to do with our undoubted lack of funds.
-
Last season we didn't make a move in the transfer market until McGhee decided not to get on the plane, then we brought in a few trialists at the last minute, nothing to do with not having money, it was lack of preparation. This season we face losing a few first team regulars who are out of contract, they will have to be replaced if we are to improve on last season. The fact that he is under contract means nothing otherwise all we would have to do is tell him and the clubs who are apparently interested that he is going nowhere.
-
I'm not saying that he has done anything bad, just that me deserve to know as a club where we stand, the speculation alone and all the waiting around for other clubs to decide what they want to do, is seriously damaging our preparations. Contract talks, new signings and the basic planning for next season, which starts in less than a month, cannot be resolved until we know where we stand. It's not fucking good enough, and to coin a phrase used by a certain set of other fans last season" we deserve better".
-
Exactly !!! First it was the Scotland Job, then the Hearts Job, now it's the Smeltic or sheepshaggers jobs. Basically he is going to be linked with every job that comes up and we are just going to have to wait and see what happens. I think at some point the club will have to say, make up your mind, commit yourself to us or just go. Our season's preparations are more important than any other clubs Managerial problems, we deserve much more respect and consideration than being treated like some sort of booby prize.
-
Not stating anything as fact, just that no player in their right mind will sign for a team who may be about to lose their Manager, and no player whose contract has expired is likely to renew until all of this has been resolved either way. We only have a few weeks before we play our first European game and assuming that we have been speaking to players and agents prior to the season ending all of that preparation may now have been for nothing.
-
I am not saying its McGhee's fault, just that we cannot afford to repeat the shambles from last season. As far as I know no club has actually expressed any interest, it's all been paper talk so far but meanwhile our preparations for the new season and our upcoming European adventure are delayed due to other clubs requirements coming before our own.
-
Aye but our season starts in less than 4 weeks and we can't afford to fuck about waiting on someone else decide our future.
-
Great idea and long overdue. I remember the first time I seen the King of Spain cup and heard the story about how it was won and how we were asked for it back and refused then how it had been found in someone's loft and given back to the club. I was amazed that I had never heard of it before, the club should be shouting about that kind of stuff from the roof tops. The press cuttings from the cup runs and European trips, the goal scoring records of the 30's teams. We have as rich a history as any club in the land, we should be proud of it. Come to think of it do Motherwell heritage centre not already have something like this on the go.

What a pile of shite, this thread has turned into.

C'mon Flow, some of us have work to skive.

Just been on the phone and renewed the 3 tickets i.e. 1 adult and 2 kids as 1 family ticket at £301.50. Very good value. The reason it is flawed is that when you try to renew online it lets you select 1 adult family ticket at £150 ish and 1 child family ticket at £150 ish (for the price of a family ticket) but the additional child is priced at another £92 ish.
-
Yes mate, it is a very good deal, we get the family season ticket which is 1 adult and 2 children for £40 more than the adult ticket on it's own and we get season ticket seats in whichever area of the stand we wish. Overall great value albeit the online renewal thing is seemingly a bit flawed
-
Last season the family season ticket was for 1 adult and upto 2 kids. Can anyone confirm if this has changed. I'm trying to buy online and it seems I can only select 1 adult family ticket and 1 child. If so they kept that quiet.

Trying to raise some funds Anyone want to buy a small child may consider a bogof offer. Failing that anyone got a number for a fake tan company and Madonna's PA.
