I have never seen the point in debating with an obvious idiot.

"Motherwell fans in slating Motherwell players shocker" Just the usual around these parts.
-
That was a great performance and a well deserved 3 points. On the run we are on, we shouldn't fear anyone, anywhere. Hopefully we will see more positive threads here this week. Couldn't understand the posts doubting that we would win and forecasting defeat today. Back to front we were brilliant. The state of the pitch caused a few problems today, playing on a better surface we would have really hammered them.

Magic.

If you think that Caldwell is better than Reynolds, never mind my C&A tinted specs, I suggest you get dark ones and a guide dug. I have no particular fascination with the boy as you put it, whatever that means nor do I have some sort of inferiority complex when it comes to comparing our players against those of other teams.
-
And certainly international class.
-
So do you think Reynolds is currently good enough to be capped before the likes of Kenneth ?
-
Hammel is just the latest in a long line of Motherwell players that some people here like to slate. Ironically as with Reynolds this is at a time when we are probably the best defensive team in the league, very strange that half of our defense comprises of apparently pish defenders.

Posted this before but still makes me laugh His name is Francis But we call him Frank He plays for the Celtic a bit of a wank He's useless at Football and that is the truth Frank MacAvennie's a Poof Nanana. (Clyde Alloy Bus) mid 80's.

Some here, would accept two bob and a half chewed toffy.

European teams, coaches,Managers and scouts can`t possibly know more than some on here. They must have a vested interest in Reynols, it can`t be that he is better than some here think.

Quote thing isny working..... Every manager touts their own players for caps. Yes they do, however when the Manager in question is also a former International Manager who knows exactly what is required for International level, his opinion has to be taken more seriously. I agree that he's in decent form and has been part of a solid back-line, but there's still a number of Scottish centre-halves who are better than him. How many ? Who ? And Why? Are you intentionally trying to push my buttons with that 'so called supporters' pish? No button pressing whatsoever, however I find it really strange that guys who I know are die hard Well fans are seemingly reluctant to back our players for international honours in favour of players from other teams who we don’t watch every week. To state that guys like Caldwell, Webster or Berra are better than Reynolds due to the fact that they play for better teams or that they are established internationals is rubbish. I mean no offence by “so called supporters” and it was not aimed at anyone in particular, I only mean that my definition of supporter means that we should support, talk up, encourage and believe in our players, rather than slating their ability. I seriously doubt that Caldwell would be a regular in the Scotland team if he was still playing for Hibs, from what I have seen of him he is extremely inconsistent and at times down right pish. But for unfortunate or fortunate for us circumstances Reynolds may well have moved to either of the Old Firm or to the championship by now, would that entitle him to an International place just because he would than have been playing for a supposedly better team? Berra was more fortunate and got his move but this does not make him a better player than Reynolds or more deserving of a cap. Webster is a decent player when fit however he is only back in the Scotland set up due to the Levein/United link. Gazzy see above.

Interesting to note that Brown is touting Reynolds for a cap in today's paper. I reckon that with his experince not least as Scotland Manager, he knows what he is talking about, maybe some here think they know better. Inclusion in the national team should be the ultimate reward for players in the best form in their respective positions. We are currently on an unbeaten run including 8 clean sheets. Reynolds has played a major part in that, he is an experienced player in form and deserves that to be recognised. I can't understand why some of our so called supporters refuse to support our players and are seemingly happier to talk down our own players. The whole old firm debate is actually part of the same debate, what is it about signing for one of the bigot brothers that magically makes good players who previously have not been capped, automatic selections. As far as Kenneth and Dixon's selection goes, in my opinion this is solely down to Levein's previous position and possibly in way of compensation to Utd, who now have 2 more internationally capped players to punt at the end of the season.

Fuck it, I'll bite. Reynolds is better than Wilkie and I know plenty Celtic fans who reckon Reynolds is better than McManus or Caldwell for that matter. In my opinion he is one of the best Scottish Centre halves in the Country and based on our current defensive form of which he plays a major part, he deserves to be capped, on merit and not just because he is better than the likes of Kenneth. Mark Reynolds will probably leave us in the summer and we will probably see him capped shortly after that if not before. Don't expect you or certain others to agree but there it is.
-
Is Gary Kenneth or Paul Dickson (who the fuck is he), good enough ?? Was Kirk Clubfoot good enough or Danny Fox or the many, many others who have been capped inspite of the fact that they are shite ? I wasn't trying to reignite the Reynolds debate, I know we will never agree on that. However the point remains we have had players over the years who in my opinion were good enough and were never capped.
-
What is it about us as fans that we feel the need to talk down our own players, past and present. Corrigan was class for us and I have seen many players who were not as good as him play for the National side. The same can be said for Reynolds now and in the past guys like Brian Martin. As far as Legends go, I would count Phil, Buff, Kaiser, Dougie, Kirky, Cooper and many more as Motherwell Legends. Others may have different ideas.

dont read pish and bollocks .
-
Aye but to be fair, you have no fucking players

We spent £350 k on repairing and replacing the pitch at the end of last season. The weather in January and the necesssary use of the undersoil heating basically killed the grass. What could we have done differently ? That said it is a mess and needs to be relayed asap.
-
However, it is wrong to say that we have done nothing about the pitch. Which is the standard line from the curent slag everything Motherwell bandwagon.

Apparently it's Ross Forbes fault that the linesman got it wrong. According to Dougal. "Here's what I reckon happened early in the second half, with Motherwell a goal in front and their players already wheeling away to celebrate a second goal before Gilmour raised his flag. In all likelihood Gilmour lost concentration at the vital moment as he saw the ball heading for the corner of the net off the shin of Stephen Craigan and considered his job done. Suddenly, Ross Forbes appeared on the scene to bundle the ball over the line. The linesman didn't see him arrive - even the ESPN commentators claimed he came from nowhere - and the official suddenly had a decision to make. To put it bluntly, Gilmour gambled that Forbes had come from an offside position - and he got it wrong. Take note all those who say I never admit to mistakes from officials. As always, the assistant became the fall guy for Motherwell's failure to win but the Fir Park faithful - and other fans as well - should look closer to home for the culprits. Firstly, Forbes showed stupidity and selfishness to knock the ball over the line when it was already on its way into the net. Critics will fire back that's what good strikers do but the very best strikers are aware of everything going on around them and Forbes needlessly attempted to pick the pocket of his skipper by taking his goal. It was a senseless thing to do because it immediately asked a question of an assistant that didn't need to be asked. Trust me on this, the assistant will be hurting about that decision for some time to come" Unbelievable.
